To wonder what Heart radio were thinking

In sacking off all their local breakfast show presenters and employing Amanda Holden?

Does anyone actually like listening to her?

I can’t stand her so have completely retuned and don’t listen to Heart at all now.

Is it just me?

I've also tuned out, suspect I'm in the same area as @RandomMess. I wasn't happy when Heart bought out out local station and now it's even worse. Very limited and noisy playlist.

Rich and Zoe in the south were fab.

So natural and honest sounding and I laughed along with them every morning.

Joel and Lorna in the NW were the best.

I'll always remember the sincerity and heartfelt sadness of their presenting the day after the Manchester attack, I listened to their programme in tears on the way into the city and they really felt the hurt we did.

I know AH and JT would have felt the sadness, and horror of that evening, but they wouldn't have necessarily felt it like a local presenter or portrayed how we were all feeling that morning.

Heart Sussex was awful.

The presenters (Tom / Lindsay / Nicola / Jack, I think) were immature and incredibly juvenile.

The first time I tuned in I thought it was a spoof and they were taking the piss.

But no... It was like listening to hormonal teenagers having a chat.

Have Heart got rid off ALL local presenters? Ouch!

Justin and kelly in the north east were fab...really miss them!

I've switched to Radio 2. I'm enjoying Sara Cox on the way home, still working on enjoying Zoe Ball on the way to work. I miss Kev and Ros although I hear Kev is going to appear on BBC Cambridgeshire soon.

I promised DD I would find out where Ivan and emma went - she really misses them. Anyone know?

I really miss listening to the local show in the mornings. Fifteen minutes of listening to AH screeching and I soon changed station. Whoever thought that was a good idea should be made to listen to her 24 hours a day on booming headphones. For life.

I loved Matt & Michelle and when I was out of range I also liked Jamie and Lucy - I get the cost saving over the local stations (although I don't like it) but I can't believe they got rid of Lucy for Amanda, she was really good with Jamie. I tuned in by mistake for a minute and her voice just grates.

I refused to even try it. I've been playing about with a few stations since. I really miss the local news/traffic but I'm listening to Kiss FM at the moment. That has a good mix of music which helps.

Bring back Ed, Troy and Paulina though.

Another vote for the genuinely lovely and funny Matt and Michelle....does anyone know where they've gone? Have re-tuned!

oh my gosh. I've heard the adverts for Amanda and Jamie and thought to myself WHY Amanda holden, she's hardly well liked. but I didn't realise they'd got rid of all the local presenters too! I loved Joel and Lorna, I haven't had chance to listen for a while cos I've been on maternity leave so no driving to work. gutted. what a mistake , I won't listen anymore.

Haven’t listened since they got rid of Real Radio and Ditchy & Salty. I switched to Christian O’Connell on Absolute ‘80s then he left and we got Dave Berry who is bloody awful, especially the way the sports and news presenters fawn and laugh over everything. I now listen to Christians podcasts from Australia and the local BBC radio stations. Occasionally I listen to other stations when I’m travelling to work as it’s before 6 am do not many have DJs and just play continuous music.

Gutted they’ve gone, even got on the show once.

I need to find a new local station as the traffic was very handy heading into Oxford if a morning.

It was Martin, Su and Alex here in Essex. I miss the local show. Can’t be listening to AH. Too much too early.

ANYTHING is better than Emma Bunton on the radio, she was hideous to listen to. I don’t mind AH as much as I thought I would though my favourite by far is Ronan and Harriet on Magic, especially when they do Eloise’s diary on a Thursday morning 😆

I really liked Rich and Zoe and I liked having local news, weather, and travel. The time tunnel was always really popular in my office ‘don’t bloody google it’

I can’t stand Amanda Holden. Weird woman. Fake and screechy. I have to have radio 2 on but can’t tolerate Jeremy bloody Vine.

I was a Capital breakfast show listener until they did exactly the same and replaced all their local breakfast shows with a shouty big name nationwide one. I hate it. Mornings aren’t the same. It used to be like listening to a group of friends taking the puss out of each other. Now it’s just a constant stream of celebrities plugging their latest whatever.

Such a massive loss for local radio now the big stations can get away with such a small amount of local programming.
