To wonder what Heart radio were thinking

In sacking off all their local breakfast show presenters and employing Amanda Holden?

Does anyone actually like listening to her?

I can’t stand her so have completely retuned and don’t listen to Heart at all now.

Is it just me?

I personally know people who've lost their jobs at our local Heart because of this. People who've worked there for years, since beforehand it became a Heart station.

If people wanted to listen to national stations they'd listen to Radio 1 or 2. Commercial radio should be kept local IMO.

Omg I just quickly googled Jagger and Woody all the while thinking, no not them, it won’t be them.....alas it is too! Fucking disgraceful.

Lots of posters saying they're a bit lost without a local radio station - for those who are in the area free coventry and warwickshire radio 97fm is quite good. Not too much talking, the music's pretty diverse and you get some local news.

My old car radio can just about pick it up as far down as Daventry. (Looses it if i head to Banbury)

Still laughing at the FB pages - they get spammed with ‘bring back so and so’ whatever they write 😂

I said to my DH “oh no not this horrible bitch, get her!”, and he was a bit about my nasty reaction. Therefore he needed a full on monologue of why I hate Amanda Holden. Opening with the Les Dennis saga. Urgggh get her off of everything!

Yes I listened to the AH And and Dec story and was like "wtf?"

I lived Zoe in heart south. She told great stories about her daughter and being a single mum and all the politics, trials and tribulations and mistakes and dating woes. She was relatable and witty.

I gave the new breakfast show a listen the other day
Some nonsense about burnt saucepans and how her husband can’t cope with popcorn spilled in the car
It was so dull even Jamie in the background was just saying mm yes and ooo in a bored tone

So sad Matt and Michelle are no more - they were fantastic fun and didn’t take themselves so seriously
Heart have made a massive mistake

So agree Ed Troy and Paulina are sadly missed the amount of times I was seriously pissing myself laughing at their celebrity callers spidyman (complete with bristolian accent) and jack Nicholson

To be honest I had no idea it was her - initially thought it was a teenager being silly until she said she made her 7yo get her meat...I literally rolled my eyes and told dd "I can't listen to people like that" and turned it over . So she is fundamentally annoying, even without the Les Dennis backstory.

It is interesting pthat not one person has said they like her.

A couple have said they’d give her a chance, having never listened to her before, but literally no one actively likes her

Agree that pretty much anyone is better than Zoe B on R2.
Heart & Capital radio here had awful presenters - both have changed recently. AH on Heart is the best of a bad lot.

I miss Martin and Sue from Heart Essex. Listened to them every morning when I lived in the UK, bought an internet radio when I moved to France and was then delighted when I could listen in the car going to work via the app.
I still listen to Jenny Falconer when I wake up but now switch over to Radio 2 for the breakfast show.
I loved Martin and Sue I used to laugh every morning, and yes, I came over really sad the other morning when I realized no more sleeps till Christmas.
Won't miss the limited play list though.

This is the first time I've heard Amanda Holden in anything as I don't watch whatever talent shows she's been on. When they said her and JT were being the new presenters I thought I'd hate it. I actually really enjoy listening to her and JT, they've got decent, easy listening banter and some chemistry between them. I quite like her cheekiness, although it might get a bit wearing over time, it did with Sara Cox for me.

It's just easy for first thing in the morning. Music is a bit shit though, lots of repeats but then again, repetition makes me cool when I can now talk about Freya Ridings and Anne Marie etc etc 😂 and I've found out who Lewis capaldi is now and not just a random guy on the cinema ads 👍🏻

I really liked listening to Ivan and Emma in the mornings. Don't like Amanda Holden so have now switched my morning radio station for my commute to work

I've stopped tuning in. I loved Ed, Troy and Paulina but can't stand Amanda Holden.

I also love the fact that my phone knew to suggest Amanda Holden when I typed 'can't stand'.

Agree re the dislike of AH. She has always come across as somewhat inauthentic to me. Interesting to see her climb up the fame ladder since the cringey p0rn years ago, lest we forget
