To wonder what Heart radio were thinking

In sacking off all their local breakfast show presenters and employing Amanda Holden?

Does anyone actually like listening to her?

I can’t stand her so have completely retuned and don’t listen to Heart at all now.

Is it just me?

I miss Matt and Michelle in the Thames Valley and Ben and Mel in Wiltshire. :(

Another one really missing Matt and Michelle, and the local news and traffic. Cannot stand Heart now and will not tune in at all, so listen to Jack FM or radio 4.

I went off heart ages ago, and my local radio.. been listening to Radio 1 and Greg James (or Matt & Molly) for a few months now and adore them, so much more fun!

I only listen to Heart breakfast in December, but it is part of our Christmas countdown with its "21 sleeps to go..." song and local schoolkids saying what they like about Christmas "Spendin time with my famileee" We will be sad not to have that this year!

Not the only one who's turned off, really not an AH fan and her in the morning is too much.

Magic breakfast is quite nice as a replacement.

Missing Ed, Troy and Paulina in Bath. My son is very sad as we loved listening to Heart on the school run. JT is great but AH is utterly odious, so we have turned off! I think it was very poor judgement and handled terribly...

Ed and Gemma (West Mids) have moved to the drive time slot but it's rare I listen at that time. Still trying to find something else to listen to in the mornings and have changed my alarm to the buzzer at the moment as waking up to Amanda and Jamie doesn't make me happy.
In the car I am switching between Greatest hits(okayish), Free Radio (borderline okay), Radio 2 (not a fan), Smooth (not a fan) and Classic fm (dgs 1 complains). I'm going to have to use autotune and see if I hit on something decent.

cptartapp same here, I loved listening to them in the morning.
Does anyone know what's happened with all presenters have they just been finished or have the moved to another station?

I can't stand Zoe Ball now on Radio 2 since Chris Evans left so I've happily switched over to Heart with Amanda and Jamie.

Heart killed off our local station about 9 years ago and then broadcast from the nearest city. The presenters and others who had set up that station originally, did a lot of fund raising and grant applications and started their own local station again on the internet. They eventually got onto DAB and then back onto FM and now I can listen to them in my car.

I vowed to stop listening to Heart back then but carried on. This time though, no way. If I wanted to listen to a London station I wouldn’t have been listening to Heart to begin with.

Very sad for all the presenters.

Anyone here Heart Northwest? Imo ours were boring but aren't looking forward to AH either.

@baubled Argh! They really shat on Key 103, didn't they? The name "Hits Radio" manages to make my teenage daughter cringe and we both think it tries too hard to be "Down with da kids." The new logo is awful.

I don’t listen anymore & don’t do social media. Maybe complain on their twitter pages?

Ask them on there how many listeners they’ve lost. Answer will be interesting

So pretty much unanimous dislike because of AH personally - what were they thinking?

I heard her for a few seconds last week; it was just before 7am and she asked a caller what they were doing up so early?

I’m mean FFS - this is the real world now love.

Was driving DD to an appointment in another town yesterday and one of the male presenters (think was Heart) was going on about pregnancy tests for no particular reason other than "hahaha wee is funny" Hmm

We used to listen in the car on the way to school, Ed, Troy and Paulina for us. It's not the switch to Amanda Holden that annoys me, it's removing local radio and replacing it with national radio, especially as I haven't been able to find a local radio station to replace it yet.

It was such easy listening on my way to work and they were so relatable.

Ed, Troy and Paulina are hugely missed on my commute. Absolutely rubbish idea Heart, no need to break something that isn’t broken!
