To wonder what Heart radio were thinking

In sacking off all their local breakfast show presenters and employing Amanda Holden?

Does anyone actually like listening to her?

I can’t stand her so have completely retuned and don’t listen to Heart at all now.

Is it just me?

Kids and I pining for Matt and Michelle on Heart they were hilarious-self deprecating and such a warmth in delivery. I feel like we’re being shouted out now with A & J it’s just seems like permanent shout outs. No more Heart. 💔

DonkeyHohtay · 11/06/2019 20:55

In Scotland we still get a early evening programme on Heart fronted locally. With local traffic news and so on. I need to know about congestion on the Kingston Bridge. Not the M3.

But I am getting old anyway and listen to very little music radio. Podcasts are usually playing throguh the car radio.

Thankssomuch · 11/06/2019 20:56

Totally agree with you OP.

My kids and I used to quite enjoy Tom, Nicola and Jack on the school run, as naff as they were.

Can’t stand AH.

WeCameToDance · 11/06/2019 20:57

My mum is devastated by this. She is refusing to listen to Heart in protest of them removing her beloved Jagger and Woody from the morning slot. I told her it would probably be good for her bank balance with the amount she was spending on that 30 grand for 3 consecutive songs game Grin

FrogFairy · 11/06/2019 21:00

Oh no, I love Jagger & Woody too Sad

Time for a different radio station or else playing a cd in the car.

MargeryB · 11/06/2019 21:03

Missing Matt and Michelle 😭 hating AH

Loveislandaddict · 11/06/2019 21:04

Radio 1, Greg James has a good breakfast show.

TitusP · 11/06/2019 21:05

Another one here missing Matt and Michelle. We have no local radio stations now Sad

bike650 · 11/06/2019 21:10

Not when they are paying AH about £3m

As well as boasting £2m paid out in the phone-in competitions, wheres all this money coming from? I only listen to it in the morning for the traffic reports....

Bearbehind · 11/06/2019 21:14

As well as boasting £2m paid out in the phone-in competitions

The phone in competitions will pay for themselves several times over!

It was Jagger and Woody here and I miss them. I miss then talking about the local area and updating me on the local traffic.

I've switched to radio 2 but that also annoys me so I've taken to plugging my phone it and listening to my Jamie Cullum albums instead.

LoveMyNewHome · 11/06/2019 21:16

I can't stand AH & JT either. Listened on day 1 to see what they were like but switched from Heart since then to Capital. Bring back our beloved morning presenters! Boo Hiss!

Shequakes · 11/06/2019 21:19

Dixie and Emma got moved to the afternoons for this bag of shite breakfast radio.

And they got rid of the afternoon presenter instead. Total bollowcks and indont listen anymore.

INeedAFlerken · 11/06/2019 21:19

We miss the Cambridgeshire duo. No longer listen in the mornings.

SheSaidNoFuckThat · 11/06/2019 21:20

Not turned radio on since local ones finished, mornings are rough enough without her

AngelOfDeathNix · 11/06/2019 21:21

I liked Matt and Michelle, but we also have Jack in Oxfordshire and I tended to listen to their morning show with Trev and Rich anyway.

jarhead123 · 11/06/2019 21:22

I miss Ed & Gemma ( West Midlands) - I don’t listen anymore

HazelBite · 11/06/2019 21:22

I think that there are very few that can switch from TV to radio and vice versa, just watch the truly toe curling performance from Sara Cox at the weekend on ITV,( The Sara Cox show.)
There are afew that manage it well eg Graham Norton

Rubberyduck · 11/06/2019 21:22

Another here missing Matt and Michelle. Genuine, warm, relatable people replaced by a doll and JT. So frustrating. Couldnt stand her on BGT and now its a daily annoyance. Bye bye Heart radio...

ButtonMoonLoon · 11/06/2019 21:23

The Heart Sussex breakfast show was such a great thing, gave us a brilliant start to the day. It’s just not the same now. My little girl is property sad every single morning when we get in the car and remember it’s not on any more. Listened to AH once. We were both like.... ‘NAH’.

Needajob1 · 11/06/2019 21:24

Jagger and Woody are now on at drive time. I've changed to Nation for the morning drive into work but keep forgetting to switch back to Heart for J&W on the way home. Funnily enough I originally was a Nation listener but couldn't stand Rachel Chew and that was when I discovered Heart.

cptartapp · 11/06/2019 21:27

We had Joel and Lorna in the NW. So funny. Don't listen now.

Icecreambythesea · 11/06/2019 21:28

I no longer listen to Heart. I do wonder how many listeners they have lost thanks to this.

Laiste · 11/06/2019 21:30

HazelBite - I think that there are very few that can switch from TV to radio and vice versa

Agreed. For radio I think you have to be very funny, effortlessly charming, genuinely self effacing or very well traveled and interesting. AH is none of the above.

plominoagain · 11/06/2019 21:30

I have a long drive to work , so I used to switch between Heart Cambridge , then hop over to Heart Peterborough , and then Heart four counties , and they were all great , particularly JK and Lucy .

Since they went , I’ve had to switch off because now , it’s just a bland not quite funny show that has absolutely no camaraderie or connection with its listeners . They don’t live normal lives like we do, or know the area . I’m lucky that my local home station is resolutely local and will stay that way , but as for Heart ? Nope , I’ve gone to Greatest Hits .
