Just that really. What's the best thing you've ever won through a competition? & worst?

A moped when I was younger. Loved it ! How about you op ?

NotMyCircusMonkeys · 10/06/2019 21:38

A Shark Duoclean, it's awesome.

DanielRicciardosSmile · 10/06/2019 21:38

£100 cash on a Christmas raffle. Worst thing would have to be a Nivea gift set which I opened to find the shower gel only 3/4 full and the shower puff still damp... Envy - not envy.

40andfeelingit · 10/06/2019 21:39

£1000
Postcode lottery - nice little surprise

Pollywollydolly · 10/06/2019 21:39

A new kitchen!
Won many years ago on a slogan competition.

student26 · 10/06/2019 21:39

The best thing ever was a brand new prototype spinning wheel. One of ten tester wheels. I was thrilled because I’d only spun wool on a drop spindle before. Lol, I love anything to do with wool!

When I was pregnant with my first DD I wrote into mother and baby magazine and won their star letter prize... two winne the Pooh baby toys! I showed the midwives the letter at a check up, they read it and kind of rolled their eyes... it was about how I was having a home birth and my mum was going to do reiki for pain relief Grin I did though and she did, but I did need a bit of gas and air too though 😂
My mum used to do every competition going at one stage and won a brand new Samsung washing machine!

WeShouldOpenABar · 10/06/2019 21:40

A parlux hairdryer, won it 20 years ago its still going strong

UpsydaisyandIgglePiggleareatit · 10/06/2019 21:41

Just to add it was only the thing I’ve ever won Grin

Justajot · 10/06/2019 21:42

I won a case of wine in a raffle, but I was only 8, so it wasn't a great prize at the time and sadly not wine that would keep well.

HettyStThomas · 10/06/2019 21:42

A panda rucksack when I was about 5. It hugged your back. It had something to do with a Cadbury's promotion. I won the raffle at the local Co-op. Surprise surprise, my Dad was the manager. I didn't take it off for about 3 years.

edwinbear · 10/06/2019 21:44

£2,500 worth of wine from Penfolds, bottles ranging from £20 up to £300! DH had just been made redundant a couple of weeks before so it was a rare happy moment at that point.

BananaCatto · 10/06/2019 21:45

My first win was a box of cereal and then I went and won a £3,000 holiday.

Get this. It was TWO NIGHTS! For £3,000. Crazy! The location would be outing but it’s a v famous UK hotel where maybe BBC2 ex breakfast host would talk about, and the Zoella lot might have a Christmas party at.

TWO NIGHTS

LizB62A · 10/06/2019 21:47

I won the trip of a lifetime to the Galapagos Islands - absolutely breathtaking !

Ginger1982 · 10/06/2019 21:48

A Gameboy on 'Maggot Moments' on CBBC in the early 90s!

PutyourtoponTrevor · 10/06/2019 21:48

£100 on the lottery

MuddyMoose · 10/06/2019 21:50

£100 river island voucher & a couple toddler toys.

Love hearing all the luck you've all had :) Especially the holidays! I love the feeling of a nice win!

20k on the lotto

Seren85 · 10/06/2019 21:51

I won tickets and hotel accommodation for a music festival in Europe. My sister won a bike once in a competition in a comic. Only she didn't tell our Mum she'd entered and she tried to send away the delivery guy as she thought it was a scam. We jointly won a rocking horse at a school fayre after bugging our Dad to buy a ticket. We were made up, he wasn't as we'd walked there and he had to carry it home. It was huge!

Sarahlou63 · 10/06/2019 21:52

€6000and a couple of holidays on a radio competition in Dublin in about 2003 - think that radio station banned me after that!

louise5754 · 10/06/2019 21:54

Nothing 😩

snop · 10/06/2019 21:54

Danielricardo that's hysterical

ChesterDrawsDoesntExist · 10/06/2019 21:56

A Siemens S55 mobile phone. It was years back when a camera phone was just invented and was a mobile phone that you clicked a camera on to. Polyphonic ringtones were brand new and I could have never dreamed of owning such a fancy item.

Oh and we won £800 when we were down to our last tenner, we had no gas or electric and were eating pretty much just pasta one January. Never have I been more relieved.

snop · 10/06/2019 21:57
