Just that really. What's the best thing you've ever won through a competition? & worst?

My worst win was a half used bath set too. Who the hell donates them as raffle prizes?

MotherOfTheNoise · 10/06/2019 21:59

A bottle of Bloom Gin and glasses from a random Instagram competition!

BathshebaKnickerStickers · 10/06/2019 22:00

A silentnight bed on Mumsnet.

My mum also won a car seat. And really we didn’t obsessively do the competitions

RaininSummer · 10/06/2019 22:00

12 bottles of gin. I did get funny looks in the supermarket.

JurassicGirl · 10/06/2019 22:03

Family ticket to a local attraction (approx worth £75) when we were really watching the pennies so it was a lovely half term treat Smile

DanielRicciardosSmile · 10/06/2019 22:03

@ChesterDrawsDoesntExist I don't know but whoever they are, they're bloody grim. I had to go and scrub my hands after touching that shower puff - and definitely not with the shower gel! Grin

£250 from a slot machine. Poor student, bugger all left in the bank, waiting for payday and rent was going to be late. Found a quid on the floor after my shift at a bar. Toss up between getting a pasty and putting it in the machine. Rent was paid on time.

Harrods luxury Xmas hamper
Then recently won a 2 person pamper day package - will take DD

DanielRicciardosSmile · 10/06/2019 22:06

@snop it is now looking back! Grin

ILOVEALLCAKES · 10/06/2019 22:06

Nothing, but my last week friend won an entire wedding package worth £12k. So chuffed for her

Longdistance · 10/06/2019 22:09

I’ve just won some tickets to the Festival of Speed via Mercedes. Shame I can’t go Sad it’s on a weekday and I work in a school.

LadySainsburySeal · 10/06/2019 22:09

One year I had an incredible run of winning competitions and won: a year's supply of shampoo, bottle of champagne, gift vouchers, a year's supply of sausages, weekend away in Amsterdam , cinema tickets, meal out, Christmas Hamper and a real Christmas Tree. :)

Since then I've won tickets to a football match, and a packet of biscuits at the local club raffle. Oh, and a deodorant. Grin

Sparadrap · 10/06/2019 22:11

The biggest thing we have ever won was a tray of meat in a pub. I say we, I mean my OH.

Him and his mate had gone to the local for many drinks while I stayed in as I had to be up early to go to work. I got up around 5am to find a massive platter of raw warm meat in the living room being chewed by the cat. It was pretty revolting.

Funnily enough, about a year later he decided to become a vegetarian (he still is 15+ years later). I like to think that the stomach churning amount of raw meat was the catalyst to a healthier diet Smile

A 2 night Michelin-starred foodie weekend away in the Lake District, worth £1100, including lunch at the Samling and dinner at l'enclume.....
Definitely the best!!!
I also won a makeover which included $200 worth of free makeup, $150 worth of hair products and $1000 shopping spree, that was pretty awesome!!
All a few years ago now, not won anything for a while, think I'm ready for another win Grin

JonSnowsFurCoat · 10/06/2019 22:13

Guessed how many sweets in a jar and won the whole jar. Great day!

SundayShawl · 10/06/2019 22:15

A £1000 shopping spree at my local shopping centre. I managed £600 before I ran out of ideas 😳😂

Ffsnosexallowed · 10/06/2019 22:15

Toss up between a mini chopper thing I got on here years ago, which (despite having a broken lid) is one of the handiest kitchen gadgets I have) or £5k on Thunderball.

Peachsummer · 10/06/2019 22:19

I’ve never won a big prize. I did once win a bottle of cheap fizz on a tombola which turned out to be a £25 bottle of champagne (guessing the donor didn’t realise). Oh and I once won a teddy bear because I was the only one who entered! (to be fair it was hideous, I’m not surprised nobody wanted it)

poptypingchef · 10/06/2019 22:22

Radio one competition to go to a tiny White Stripes gig at Maida Vale.

Jsmith99 · 10/06/2019 22:23

A day trip to the German Grand Prix on a chartered aircraft.

GlitterGlassEye · 10/06/2019 22:23

At a little festival held by the group who run my kids music classes about 3 weeks ago . Bought 5 tombola tickets for £1 and got a bottle of champagne, bottle of red wine, bottle of rose and a soap and glory hamper. Everything I had my eye on! My mum won a pair of brown, size 8 trainers 😂. She declined as she wears a size 5 🤷🏻‍♀️.

LifeBeginsNow · 10/06/2019 22:25

£40 on the National Lottery right before our wedding.

A mini break to Bluestone & £200 baby shop vouchers while I was pregnant.

A virtual reality headset which looks pretty decent but I haven't taken it out of the box yet.

Guadalquivir19 · 10/06/2019 22:28

After buying a £1 ticket & correctly guessing how many balloons stored in a car, I won a £50 John Lewis voucher.

DippyDepannage · 10/06/2019 22:29

loads, used to enter a lot of competitions, best prizes were a Bugaboo pushchair, £800 of centre parks vouchers, £750, Fridge Freezer, GHD's

breakfastpizza · 10/06/2019 22:31

Xbox? Not sure which one, but it was worth a couple of hundred pounds at the time. I sold it.

Worst was a skateboard. Gave it to a neighbour kid.
