@burntsausage I always sing that in my head when I'm asking about the phone charger 🤣

FurryTurnipHead · 07/06/2019 22:07

I've just listened to Autumn Days on You Tube, I had forgotten the later verses but there is a great line about 'the smell of bacon as fastening my laces'. I'm feeling a bit nostalgic and weepy now!

Selfcarequeereyestyle · 07/06/2019 22:07

We had the blue one and by the time we got to 4th year juniors (year 6) we thought we were really rebellious because when we sang ‘we nourish it with rain’ we would emphasise the ‘shit’. I loved Autumn days and when a knight won his spurs. I can’t be doing with all the ‘shine Jesus shine’ of modern times- come and praise rules!

🎵 One more step along the world I go,
one more step along the world I go;
from the old things to the new
keep me traveling along with you
And it's from the old I travel to the new;
keep me traveling along with you 🎶

Milk bottle tops AND PAPER BAGS!

Amanduh · 07/06/2019 22:09

Although my life goal was to make it to y6 and be a commander of the projecter and acetate sheet

BurntSausage · 07/06/2019 22:09

🎵So I mustn’t forget...not I mustn’t forgeeeet, to say a great big thank you to the OP for this great blast from the past🎵

What about 🎵the foolish man built his house upon the sand and... THE HOUSE ON THE SAND FELL FLAT🎵

Amanduh · 07/06/2019 22:09

*projector

Cleanmywindows · 07/06/2019 22:09

these were buried deep in the recesses of my mind somewhere. it's all come screaming back.

autumn days was my fave, I think.

BurntSausage · 07/06/2019 22:10

Omg literally all of this! One More Step! I haven’t thought about that in like 30 years!

scarecrowhead · 07/06/2019 22:10

Give me oil in my lamp keep me burning

Fiveletters · 07/06/2019 22:11

The yellow and green book 2 was like the 2nd cassette in a Now album. A couple of great tunes but the rest were complete fillers!

babynumber2onboard · 07/06/2019 22:11

@FurryTurnipHead that one is my favourite!!

MrsSiba · 07/06/2019 22:12

I went to a baby sensory class recently where they used the man building a house on the sand. I don't remember singing it at school though.

SleepingStandingUp · 07/06/2019 22:13

Oh gosh i'nm gonna have ear worms all night!!
Must have been on the cusp age wise for this as we def got to "Shine Jesus Shine" by the time we were upper juniors. In fact, i insisted we sang it at my wedding along with Jerusalem!

I sing Streets of London to DS, i might have to start singing some of these as well!

Thunderpunt · 07/06/2019 22:13

@scarecrowhead I loved that one, but I've just tried to sing it and in my head it's morphed into Give Me Hope Joanna. Confused the 80's pop song (?)

Aprinceinapaupersgrave · 07/06/2019 22:14

The t shirt is amazing 😄
Mustn't forget "the fam'ly of man, keeps growing, the fam'ly of maaaaaaan keeps sowing, the seeds of a new life every day...I've a sister in [somewhere] a brother in Delhi..."

BurntSausage · 07/06/2019 22:14

@MrsSiba we used to sing it in assembly and were allowed to shout FELL FLAT and clap. The excitement!

Fiveletters · 07/06/2019 22:14

And I’ll lead you all wherever you may be and I’ll lead you all in the dance said he! Tune!

scarecrowhead · 07/06/2019 22:14

@Thunderpunt 'sing hosanna / hope joanna ' similar ! 😂

MrsSiba · 07/06/2019 22:15

@scarecrow yes!! Sing hosanna, sing hosanna, sing hosanna to the king of Kings!!! 👑

Dockray · 07/06/2019 22:16

Colours of day was my favourite. Although I did sing "One more step" to the kids while on a ramble at the weekend. (I am an atheist. The tunes are just too good not to sing)

PragmaticWench · 07/06/2019 22:18

We had a shell-suited headmaster with a boom box who loved to have us sing Streets of London...

Strange man.

Ostwich · 07/06/2019 22:18

Sing hosanna!!!y favourite when I was little...I used to belt it out at every given opportunity much to my mums despair 😂

MrsSiba · 07/06/2019 22:19

@burntsausage.... Whoa, the excitement!!!!! 😇🤣

We had a very over zealous Latin teacher who bopped you on the head with her hymn book if you didn't sing, giggled at her warbling, did anything other than sing seriously.
