What are people’s views on this. It’s the middle of the night, DP has number two then comes back to bed completely naked. I find this unhygienic. I would never do that, would at least put a pair of pants on and defo have a mini shower (of private area) if sex was on the cards.

I can see your point. Yes he might wipe well, but if it's with a dry tissue it's more like smearing it really.

I have IBS and unfortunately have rather messy shits. So, quite simply, I wet the toilet paper before I wipe. I also sleep naked and manage to not get shit everywhere.
I'm amazed half of you have survived this long...

YANBU its a bit gross.Wiping is just smearing it around, and if its been a messy one therell be residue.

Wiping is only 'just smearing it around' if you never learned to wipe yourself properly. You keep wiping until there is no sign of the poo on the toilet paper. Tadaa clean!

We use wet wipes in our house after a poop, don’t flush them, they go in a poop bag and into the bathroom bin.

Please tell me those poop bags aren't plastic.

There seem to be some members of MN who resent anyone ever needing to take a poo in the first place.

Do you always shower post poop? Or sleep with underwear on? As long as he's an adult I don't see the issue- a naked kid jumping into bed post a poop- I'd say you've got a reason to be a tad concerned. The issue then surely is a general hygiene one if you don't think your partner can be trusted to successfully wipe his own butt?

I'm another one who makes my own wet wipes if a proper clean up is required, I put a small amount of fragrance free lotion on the loo paper and then wipe and flush, in fact it sometimes better to apply pre- poo to cut down on "adhesions" ( oh the joy of a rather ornate bumhole thanks to the legacy of post delivery piles).
