I know it looks as if Brexit have won but in every single case, if you add up all the votes secured by the other parties then together they have more votes than Brexit. That means more people want to remain in Europe than Leave.

Corbyn is still rattling on about scrapping Mays deal and creating another. Juncker at al have said the EU won't be renegotiating a new deal. It's Mays deal or nothing. That deal has been thrown out at least 3 times.

Farage is insisting we will leave the EU on Oct 31st with or without a deal. Everyone else is saying there are legalities that have to be agreed between The EU and UK (not including "The Deal" itself) and we simply cannot just crash out...

The Tory MP's who have put themselves forward for Leader are a mix of Brexiteers and remainers, as are the very people who will be voting for them. Virtually a 50% split.

We will still be in this position in 50 years time...

I could live with that, if we are still in the EU. Well I may well (almost certainly, although one grandmother made it to 101) not be around then, but you get my drift.

Looking at how remainers have had to add together all the other party's to claim 'victory', with such a split vote and our first-past-the-post system, I honestly think the Brexit Party would do very well indeed in a G.E.

BertrandRussell · 29/05/2019 13:21

What are the Brexit Party’s policies?

EggWrap · 29/05/2019 13:34

They have none. They have no manifesto, and have been a party for mere weeks. But they got the votes to come out as the top party in the EU elections. That's how strongly people feel about this.

What are the Brexit Party’s policies?

As you'll well know, they have just one: to exit the E.U (I used to put these false questions to my children when they were young.)

More to the point, an election would force all the parties to work overtime on their manifestos.

EggWrap · 29/05/2019 13:44

Yeah, they are a one trick pony. I think we will get more of them, seeing as how politics at present seems to enjoy ignoring the obvious wishes of their public. Now it's Brexit. Next one might be a health service one. Maybe crime? But the conservatives have fluffed it for the traditional 'main' parties. The trust is gone.
We will have to vote in one-trick party's to actually get things done, democracy will win out eventually.

I suspect that as they don't have to stick to their manifesto pledges it won't take more that a few minutes for them to make more of the usual shit up.

@Suiker

No, only those who subsequently voted BP, because they are voting for something unworkable.

wtf?????
