To be delighted That Leave Have Lost

I know it looks as if Brexit have won but in every single case, if you add up all the votes secured by the other parties then together they have more votes than Brexit. That means more people want to remain in Europe than Leave.

Alistair Campbell was a guest on the BBC and he kept repeating broadly the same thing and he has masses of experience, so no it's not shite thank you very much.

Ha ha ha. He has masses of experience as a spin doctor so no wonder he's looking for some way to spin this whether it's true or not. He's also an adviser to the campaign for a second referendum so he will want to say this proves there is an appetite for remaining.

SusieOwl4 · 27/05/2019 00:43

Alistair Campbell also made a very derogatory comment about funding for the Brexit party . What an idiot.

Skipthisbit · 27/05/2019 00:44

Alister Cambell??? Really?! ffs!
Do you genuinely believe that all those people who voted labour or conservative - two parties who have consistently said, time and time again, that they will honour the referendum and leave, somehow think that isn’t the case? If the majority of the people wanted remain - they would have voted for the parties that promised it!

manicinsomniac · 27/05/2019 00:45

I wish you were right but I don't think it's as clear cut as that at all.

The labour vote is impossible to interpret but, assuming at least a large proportion of them are leave, I think the final percentage would be almost identical to the 2016 referendum - a very small majority to leave.

I don't think the last three years of ridiculousness have changed much at all.

Floralnomad · 27/05/2019 00:46

I’m a remain voter but frankly OP you are deluding yourself .

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 27/05/2019 00:47

Jesus wept. People say Leave voters are thick...🙄

tomtom1999xx · 27/05/2019 00:48

It’s a clear win for leave I’m afraid op.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 27/05/2019 00:48

So clarity has won . That’s all you can say

I think thats spot on actually

RHTawneyonabus · 27/05/2019 00:50

I don’t think the con or lab votes can be interpreted as remain or leave. This is their core vote who would vote for them no matter what

It shows the country is split 50/50 on Brexit. No one has changed their minds since 2016

Screw you David Cameron for getting us into this mess

Snowjive2 · 27/05/2019 00:50

Not a win for clarity, but for simplicity - or rather, simple-mindedness.

thisismeusernameything · 27/05/2019 00:52

Jesus wept. People say Leave voters are thick Grin

Shoppingwithmother · 27/05/2019 00:53

So here’s the Green Party representative saying the same thing - adding Lib Dem, Green, Change and comparing it to just Brexit Party on their own - not even adding UKIP!

FiddlesticksAkimbo · 27/05/2019 00:53

SusieOwl4

Just sort if out and quickly

The only certainty from 24/6/16 is that this will not happen. It will take years, probably a decade, before any stability is returned.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 27/05/2019 00:53

t shows the country is split 50/50 on Brexit

Yup

donotcovertheradiator · 27/05/2019 00:54

The fact remains-more people voted for parties who want to stay than Brexit and no matter what you think of Campbell, others on the panel whose names I don't know agreed with him.

As far as I'm concerned, I agree with him. The numbers are crunched and Leave have lost. Hopefully, this will make the EU look kindly on us.

TheGardenFairy · 27/05/2019 00:55

Leave have lost? 🤔 Here's a grip OP [] ....Are you serious? The Brexit Party is storming it! What planet are you on?? 😳

Shoppingwithmother · 27/05/2019 00:57

That is not a fact!!!! It isn’t true!

The actual impartial expert on election statistics is on TV now, saying it is equal.

sweeneytoddsrazor · 27/05/2019 00:57

You are ignoring the fact that the leave parties such as Brexit only had one reason for people to vote for them i.e to leave. The other parties have other reasons than remain to vote for them. The majority of people who voted Green would almost certainly have voted for reasons to do with climate change rather than remain for example.

Shoppingwithmother · 27/05/2019 00:57

That reply was to OP, sorry

Merrymumoftwo · 27/05/2019 00:58

The problem is the right parties across Europe are winning too. They have no love for a united Europe.

Drasticaction · 27/05/2019 01:00

I admire your optimism op.
But it's lib Dems who should be surging.

Lib Dems are only clear party who said have re run.

If I was remain I'd vote for them. ..
Leave could have had vote split easily.

All the stupid thick leaver racists could have gone with ukip.

Ukip disspeard. ..

Leave ,brexit party.....6 week's old won

It’s a clear win for leave I’m afraid op.

In tomtom's mathematical brain, anything above 30% is a majority.

The Change Party is spot on.

Yes, that's why they got so many votes.

Oh, wait... Hmm

donotcovertheradiator · 27/05/2019 01:04

Prof Curtis has just said it is a draw, not a win for Brexit, because more voted for Remain parties. Is he daft too?
