To be delighted That Leave Have Lost

I know it looks as if Brexit have won but in every single case, if you add up all the votes secured by the other parties then together they have more votes than Brexit. That means more people want to remain in Europe than Leave.

OP have you actually given your son choice?

Laid out both sides of argument, carefully kept your feelings hidden... and presented both sides?

Because you want to raise, a free free thinking child.

Otherwise saying.... it's like saying my lobotomised brain washed child wants remain... and it means nothing.

sweeneytoddsrazor · 27/05/2019 01:06

Not let anyone over 70 vote. Let 10 year olds vote. Ffs. Hmm

Justbreathing · 27/05/2019 01:08

The change party are fucking useless. And over ten and not over 70 I mean fuck off.
No wonder no one voted for them.
And I’m remain!

Shoppingwithmother · 27/05/2019 01:08

Did you not listen to John Curtice who doesn’t have an agenda other than accurate staistics and said it was equal?

She is seeing what she wants to see as other retainers so far, which is seemingly going unchallenged on TV for most of the time. So yes, I don’t think you can hold her up as someone who is definitely not stupid. She’s just biased - and only sees what she wants to see - like you, OP

Justbreathing · 27/05/2019 01:10

I think everyone knows it’s basically 50/50
But the scary thing is it’s 50 % leave hard
50% stay.
No one seems to want to negotiate
Which is very British if nothing else.

TheGardenFairy · 27/05/2019 01:10

The Change Party is spot on. Have a people's Vote. let anyone over 10 vote and barr those aged over 70 and the lady from the Green Party has just now said that the numbers for the remain parties are higher and that Brexit have lost. I suppose she's stupid too...not

🤔 There's no answer to that really....other than go and boil your head you lunatic!!

Shoppingwithmother · 27/05/2019 01:10

Are you stupid, OP? If more had voted for remain parties, he would have said it was a “win” for remain. He said it is a “draw” because definite remain parties’ share is equal to definite leave parties. FFS

sweeneytoddsrazor · 27/05/2019 01:11

How many people seriously thought I want to remain in Europe so I will vote Green.

usernameuser · 27/05/2019 01:11

so no it's not shite thank you very much

Erm I'm afraid it is. The Brexit Party have clearly smashed it.

Older people and racists wanted to leave

Yawn

ilovesooty · 27/05/2019 01:12

It seems to me that it's roughly a draw with the country more polarised than ever. What a mess.

essayessay · 27/05/2019 01:14

Few points:
These results include EU citizens not entitled to vote in a GE.
There will be fair number of Leave voters who would have stayed at home on principle, but will vote in GE.
Finally, it seems quite clear that the ‘mood of the country’ has not shifted, which pretty much dismisses the prospect of a rerun ref.

So, looks like its leave with or without a deal.

Shoppingwithmother · 27/05/2019 01:14

Also, if you’re determined to only count the newly-formed, single issue Brexit Party as leave votes, then you should to be fair be comparing their percentage with the newly-formed remain party ChangeUK. The Brexit Party have over 10 times the vote. Change have been disastrous and they will all lose their Westminster seats at the first opportunity.

usernameuser · 27/05/2019 01:15

Many people who were too young to vote want to remain. My 13 year old is one of those

Yes and there are probably many children that will agree with their parents who want to leave too. It. Means. Nothing.

Isatis · 27/05/2019 01:17

Anyone who seriously thinks a vote for the Lib Dems and Greens was anything other than a Remain vote is clutching at straws, extremely desperately. On any view of the vote, the majority of the electorate has said it does not want to leave.

MustardScreams · 27/05/2019 01:17

BP is just UKIP in a less fascist coat. Don’t get all high and mighty about their apparent win, it’s no different from UKIP 5 years ago. Who managed to scrape 1 seat in the GE. BP are a one track party and have literally no manifesto, they are of no significance after tonight.

Antigonads · 27/05/2019 01:18

Racists shouldn't be allowed a vote? How are you going to sort that one?

And some voters from the referendum may well be dead by now, but trust me, others will have taken their place.

You sound very naive OP. I'm not sure you should be allowed a vote.

Shoppingwithmother · 27/05/2019 01:18

How have you worked that out Isatis?

donotcovertheradiator · 27/05/2019 01:19

I think it's more than a draw-it's at least that and many commentators on the BBC are saying that.

Let the people have a choice and let's include everyone over 10-our children are intelligent and better educated than any other generation.

We want the people to decide if we stay or go and on these results, it will overwhelmingly be Stay.

Leave have lost AGAIN.

OP posts:
Justbreathing · 27/05/2019 01:19

No one can know why anyone voted. But it’s probably overwhelmingly about brexit!
Funnily enough!

usernameuser · 27/05/2019 01:19

On any view of the vote, the majority of the electorate has said it does not want to leave.

The majority? Can you count?

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 27/05/2019 01:20

Rachel Johnson said that Change UK "want to focus-group everything and they have a leadership team of about 11 people." She was running for them and still said that!

I've been on (much-less important!) committees that try to run like that, and it just doesn't work. I think their candidates will mostly defect to the Lib Dems after this.

The Brexit party has done a far better job of being a newly-formed single-issue party.

Justbreathing · 27/05/2019 01:20

What happened to the over 70s have they had a reprieve op!!!!!

sweeneytoddsrazor · 27/05/2019 01:21

I would agree that a vote for Lib Dems is a vote for remain but disagree with that sentiment for Greens. Climate change is a very big thing for an awful lot of people and far more people would vote for Green on that basis than remain.

usernameuser · 27/05/2019 01:21

Let the people have a choice and let's include everyone over 10-our children are intelligent and better educated than any other generation.

Ha ha, yeah I want my future decided by a 10 year old 😂

usernameuser · 27/05/2019 01:22

Leave have lost AGAIN

Huh?
