My family think I must have shares in Sudocrem because i recommend it for almost any ailment 😁😁

Latest proof: friction burn from dog lead walking accident (don’t ask)... medics recommended keep clean, loose dressing, leave it to heal naturally.. 1 week later, no better.

3 days of Sudocrem - virtually fixed, almost expect new foot to grow shortly !

who will join me in the Ode to Sudocrem - or even recommend new potions with magical powers that I can add to my list?

Brilliant for cold sores. Just put it on when the tingle starts and it never turns into a blister.

BlackeyedGruesome · 18/05/2019 23:27

Does not come out of carpets though.

Zinc oxide nappy cream, circa 1970 is not toxic to toddlers. Both DC's parents managed to eat some.

Cannyhandleit · 18/05/2019 23:27

My son had a big hole appear on his thumb due to excessive thumb sucking and a burst blister! It wasn't healing and we had many doctors appointments and different creams prescribed until the practice nurse suggested applying sudacrem at night and covering with a plaster...... 1 week later and his thumb was brand new!!

itscallednickingbentcoppers · 18/05/2019 23:33

It's brilliant. I've been using it my entire life and was most surprised to realise, as I approach my middle age, that it smells of lavender.

BitOfAKerfuffle · 18/05/2019 23:37

sudocreme fan here as well but also lansinoh usually go for the sudocreme first because its cheaper lol but when it doesnt work the lansinoh gets brought out lol its been used for cradle cap, many many different skin issues, recently dd has had some kind of dermatitis on her face, tried sudocreme to no avail, doctors suggested antibiotic creams made no difference bought a new tube of lansinoh almost cleared overnight !!

EugenesAxe · 18/05/2019 23:38

Love it. Don’t have acne but have always thought that sufferers of that ailment that features in the list on the front of the pot would do well to try it, given it’s brilliance on everything else.

HeronLanyon · 18/05/2019 23:38

stuckoname yes it does help with
Cold sores. Know
Someone who swears by it for them.

Scattyhattie · 19/05/2019 00:17

Its a staple in my house, for humans & dogs. I mainly use it to help keep any spots at bay.
My old dog had eye removed and the skin around the socket became infected, started to break down & had a big wound, it looked a right mess. Vet said to do hibiscrub wash ( now first aid staple), fully dry area then sudocreme. He had antibiotics for the infection, but in 10 days or so it had healed up amazingly.

bagpiss · 19/05/2019 10:14

I keep it my handbag, two of my GC call it nana's magic cream, it appears to work on every and any little 'ailment' they get 😂

Love sudocrem. Also discovered magnesium cream/oil for aches and pains- it’s like wearable Epsom salts. Works on tension headaches too. Hardly use ibuprofen gel at all now, have crappy feet and arches that are always flaring up.

Catchingbentcoppers · 19/05/2019 18:01

I've seen this thread at just the right time. My skin is horrendous just now, particularly on my face, due to chemo - maybe Sudocrem is the way forward?

bbcessex · 19/05/2019 18:05

WELL I’m delighted to find out I’m not alone in my Sudocrem-reliance.

I even got another tub this weekend, just to be on the safe side!!

Hope all the Sudo-newbies post how they got on 🙌🙌 (defo not on commission!)

Sudocrem and Germolene are magic, best cures for bites, burns, spots and anything else. I have passed this wisdom to my DC who have friends that think they are crazy for putting nappy cream on their spots.

TigerTooth · 19/05/2019 18:14

Heals cuts on dogs snout beautifully.

MaybeitsMaybelline · 19/05/2019 18:18

Mine are 25 and 22 and we always have a tub on the go. I use it for everything from burns to chub rub to blisters to dry skin. It’s magic.

IncrediblySadToo · 19/05/2019 18:20

Hmm seriously??

I’ve never found it any good.

I swear by Germolene, but the old, thick, dark pink stuff which you can’t get anymore 😢😢 I use the new stuff for less important tube and the ‘old stuff’ for when things are Very Bad. You’ll hear the sobbing when it runs out.

...but you all seem very convincing, so I might have to give it another chance. Grudgingly. Is it any good on one year old scars from a small op that are still purple?

Swelling on ankles?

Yogagirl123 · 19/05/2019 18:24

Sudocreme is fab, knocks germolene into a cocked hat 😂 youngsters on here probably won’t know what germolene or TCP is!

Yogagirl123 · 19/05/2019 18:26

X post with incrediblysadtoo Germolene brings back such memories for me!

flowergrrl77 · 19/05/2019 18:30

Sudocrem got retired long long ago in my house in favour of bepanthen! Been using it for everything from sore nips, bleeding crusty nose to sore bums! Safe for nursing mums too so doesn’t need to be wiped off of nipples before commencing a feed!

IMO works better and faster. A skin fold that sweats often gets a thin layer applied when it’s gotten sore, next day is as good as new!

flowergrrl77 · 19/05/2019 18:32

@claybakefan I don’t know if this cream you speak of.. metanium?

Bubblysqueak · 19/05/2019 18:32

It's on offer in Tesco at the moment!!!

Boffing · 19/05/2019 18:32

I forgot it was invented for a-holes. If I rub it on my SIL I wonder if it'll make her go away ...

justasking111 · 19/05/2019 18:33

Bought a new bra, result sore under boobs. Out came the magic cream, bliss. Next morning it looked a lot better and no longer hurt.

Elleyangel16 · 19/05/2019 18:33

we used it on chicken pox worked a treat the kids all looked like olaf but the pox had crusted over in 2 days

MadisonAvenue · 19/05/2019 18:35

flower Bepanthen is brilliant! I use it a lot.
I was first recommended it by a tattoo artist and it healed a small tattoo that I'd had done in no time with no itching whatsoever.
