My family think I must have shares in Sudocrem because i recommend it for almost any ailment 😁😁

Latest proof: friction burn from dog lead walking accident (don’t ask)... medics recommended keep clean, loose dressing, leave it to heal naturally.. 1 week later, no better.

3 days of Sudocrem - virtually fixed, almost expect new foot to grow shortly !

who will join me in the Ode to Sudocrem - or even recommend new potions with magical powers that I can add to my list?

I bloody love the stuff.

Face masks and the random spots that have appeared since coming off the pill, in the middle of my back of all places.

I think it's secretly magic...(but I have had a glass of wine so it may just be down to science really)

Witchtower · 18/05/2019 19:38

It does say it’s an antiseptic cream on the tub. But I agree. I used it for years as a nappy rash cream until I actually read the tub and realised it was magic 😂

Am I the only one who thinks we should have a Sudocrem anthem, rather like the Monty Python Spam song?

BumbleBeeWineGlass · 18/05/2019 19:56

I have awful skin rosacea, dry and greasy skin all at once - nothing works to soothe it - I'm going to try it tonight.

mrsdolittle · 18/05/2019 19:58

Bloody love Sudocrem. And am now getting slightly panicky because my tub is nearly empty (yes they really can become empty!).

I also used to love something called Kamillosan which had camomile in it. But I haven't been able to get it for years 🙁

Tingface · 18/05/2019 20:00

It’s actual magic.

ChiaraRimini · 18/05/2019 20:11

Sudocreme is the tits for sunburn. Gone by morning every time.
It's fucking useless as nappy cream though.
Ds1 had amazing skin and never got nappy rash
Poor DS2 had more sensitive skin. Had terrible nappy rash within a few days of birth. I was using cloth nappies as well which didn't help. Metanium and disposables was the only thing that cracked it.

labazsisgoingmad · 18/05/2019 20:15

perfect at soothing and curing the rash under my boobs wouldnt be without a tub of it

MrsDilligaf · 18/05/2019 20:32

My lovely DH who is oblivious to all potions, lotions and products aside from the most basic man stuff had a pot of sudocrem which he dabbed on anything and everything.

He was quite attached to his "own" pot, and when I ran out of the baby's first pot and asked him for his, he hesitated (a bit too long for my liking) and very grudgingly handed it over.

We're never without it in this house.

There are DCs in this house any yet I still have a large tub in the bathroom and a small one in my bag ,
I found out by accident the other day if you put a decent amount ( hands were very dry due to me using turps the day before ) on your hands before painting the paint cones off your hands much easier

Chesntoots · 18/05/2019 21:07

Brexit???!!!! I never considered fucking Brexit!!!!

Now I know how Smeagel / Gollum felt. They can't take my precious!!!

(second glass of wine, but I think I would feel the same sober)

BluebellCockleshell123 · 18/05/2019 21:10

Sudocrem and rosehip oil facemasks. I am like a new woman after them.

When it's coming up to bikini time I cover my entire body in baby oil and sudocrem a couple of nights a week.

I love the stuff.

teddyclown · 18/05/2019 21:16

@mrsdoolittle - Kamillosan - yes, I remember it well. Perfect for early breastfeeding when you get sore nipples

Tiptopj · 18/05/2019 21:21

I suffer terribly from prickly heat on holidays and sudacrem is the only product that helps soothe it. I apply it overnight and it's almost gone by the following morning

PuzzledObserver · 18/05/2019 22:31

@sueeleker I’ve just been prescribed Trimovate, which has clobetasone, oxytetracycline and nyastatin

Troels · 18/05/2019 22:41

I admit it, I'm a Sudocrem addict. I put it on everything, Dd sees me coming with the tub. Grin
I also use it at work, dab of sudocrem fixes my patients sometimes. Zinc and castor oil is too runny.

Eloisedublin123 · 18/05/2019 22:48

Never used it! Will buy some pronto! (And I live in Dublin!)

claybakefan · 18/05/2019 22:49

If anyone is as ancient as me I wonder if they can remember Sudocrem's predecessor.......it was bright green, smelt soooo strong and was called Zambuc. Not certain of the spelling.
My father would slather it all over my spots. Not great for a sensitive teenage girl.

PearlandRubies194 · 18/05/2019 22:56

We call it Magic Cream in our house!

PierreBezukov · 18/05/2019 23:01

It's ubiquitous where I am and everyone calls it soda cream.

AliTheMinx · 18/05/2019 23:05

Yep! Amazing stuff. My son had molloscum contagium a few months ago. The doctor said it would last for at least 6 months. I smothered the spots in Sudocream every night and they were completely gone without trace in less than 2 weeks!

CalamityJune · 18/05/2019 23:05

It's done wonders for a bif fat spot in my cheek these last few days.

Toothpaste is also a solid spot fighter and deserves equal respect.
