I have watched this WAYYY too much. But there must be others like me out there.

To start...

• Ben disappears.

• Rachel's dad smokes but with her smoking episodes she says she doesn't because her dad's a doctor and told her horror stories about it.

Joey is said to have 7 sisters but he says his mother have birth to 7 children.

Rachel's pregnancy lasted around a year.

Several different dates are given for Ross's birthday.

Rachel is introduced to Chandler in the first episode but in flashback episodes she met him several times as a teenager, and even snogged him at a college party.

Ross breaks his hand trying to punch joey and then in the next episode it is healed

In one of the early episodes phoebe is scoffing Monica's lasagne but later she is a devout vegetarian

Rachel says on the flashback episode that a year from that day she’ll be getting married. Ross realises Carol is a lesbian. Yet in the first episode Carol is moving out. So they don’t separate for a year after he finds out?

Carol is completely different person on her first appearance

Ursula says ‘let's go and get me drunk’ at the Halloween party but when she’s dating Joey, he says she’s teetotal.

Yes faith and then a few weeks later she finds out she’s pregnant with Ben.

At parties, they can always rustle up other guests but then only talk to each other.

It's funny to now be a little older than the friends were for most of the series! I always thought they were sooooooo grown up when I first watched it.

They never really "let loose" though, do they? Although they do get to shag a fair few peeps. I wish dating in real life was as simple as it seems to be down at Central perk!

Hobbes8 totally agree. It is shown as if she doesn't know him in the episode where he tries to pick her up but then there are the college flashbacks where he kissed her and makes Ross upset

I don't care about any of the inconsistencies - I love Friends, I will always love Friends, I will never agree there is anything negative about Friends.....do you hear me people? I LOVE FRIENDS!

I'm sure I read that for the scenes when Phoebe is talking to Ursula they used Lisa Kudrow's real life sister for the back of the head shots. I wonder if that is her in Central Perk with Monica as well?

Itistheweekendyet the woman who raised her kills herself. Her birth Mum turns up later, she meets her when they go to the beach with Bonnie. Birth Mum gives them away and loses touch with the family. Her birth Dad runs off ‘total abandonment’ but turns up at her Grandmother’s funeral. Basically no-one stepped up after her Mum dies and her step dad goes to prison when she’s 14 and she ends up on the streets.

In one episode Ross talks about his parents struggling to conceive him (“They thought she was barren!”) but in another episode Jack Geller says they had to get married because he had got Judy pregnant.

Ursula is a serial liar. About anything. She could have lied to Joey about being teetotal.

Ross' birthday month completely changes. He tells Gunther one date and later on in the series when he hurt his hand he says another date.

In one episode Ross said he has had 2 lovers.. carol and Rachel... in another episode Chandler teases him as he slept with the elderly librarian in college

According to the birth mom they were great friends though, basically a thrupple, so she must have known phoebe's mum died and just did nothing to stop her biological daughter becoming homeless at fourteen.

Did the step dad ever get out of prison is what I'm saying! He's only ever mentioned in a past tense.

And you've added another question - where was her grandma when all this was going on?

Here's one I noticed the other day - Chandler is disappointed when Ross drops his turkey burger on the floor during BBQing, but Chandler supposedly hates turkey because of all the painful Thanksgiving memories?

You answered your own question. Real dad does a Runner, step dad goes to jail, mum kills herself, birth mum has no idea. She eventually finds her real dad and her birth mum.
What I can never understand is why her gran didn't take them in.
