What a great week for football.
Loved the games this week.

But its a long time since the title went down to the wire like this. Even the miricle year leicester won theg won by 10 points, last year CIty ran away with it.

When was the last time it went down to the last natch like this? Blackburn and man u in 1995?

I'm a wolves fan and we're playing liverpool but i'm desparate for liverpool to win the title. I really dislike city. I of course always want the gold and black army to win but i'm almost happier if we lose today.

I’m enjoying not being part of the stress of it (being from the red side of Manchester).

DH supports a crappy lower division team so enjoys days like this. I’ve never fully understood it.

I suppose it’s like loving watching penalty shootouts - they’re great, as long as you’re a neutral!

Serin · 12/05/2019 15:43

Never mind the big boys!! Little Woking are going up Grin

Sakura7 · 12/05/2019 15:46

As a Liverpool fan it's killing me. Had a brief flicker of hope for all of one minute, but seems inevitable it's going to City now :(

Ohnotanothernamechange · 12/05/2019 15:48

City are just so awful aren't they? Most of the the time they play in front of a half empty stadium, even on Champions League nights. They have no real history to draw from, hence the lack of fans.

It's all a bit soulless and empty with them.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 12/05/2019 15:48

Arguerooooooo whatever year that was definitely memorable.

DoneLikeAKipper · 12/05/2019 15:49

The last ‘exciting’ day of football I remember was the year Wolves managed to stay up in the prem as about 5 teams spent the last match taking turns in staying up/going down. Of course, was all in vein as the following year was the beginning of a difficult few years (I’m sure you well remember as a fan, @NaughtToThreeSadOnions!).

You must be really pleased with how bloody well Wolves have done this year - my Arsenal fan OH was in rather awe of them when they thrashed the pants off the Gunners.

Crossing everything for Liverpool today and for the Championship’s League final!

CentralPerkMug · 12/05/2019 15:51

Come on Brighton!!! Never thought I would say that hahaha. I agree with all the comments about City.

Fiveredbricks · 12/05/2019 15:51

Toffees here but I support Brighton as a 2nd team too so I am totally fucking torn!! 😂

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 12/05/2019 15:52

I suppose it’s like loving watching penalty shootouts - they’re great, as long as you’re a neutral!*

Ah yes. Of coursethe whole "great last day" thing in any division is only great if you haven't got a vested interest.

Which is why i'm a little torn agh should be supporting wolves but we're 7th no one can catch us, although i want city to win the cup, i really want the team we're playing to win. I probably wouldnt feel like that if we still had something to play for today.

City fans here. Husband has been a season ticket holder since he was a kid, followed them through every division and went to every away match too. He doesn't go to champions league matches though, they already have a lot of midweek evening matches and he works long hours. He goes to all their Wembley matches though.

It's not as empty as people make out either. I was at one match that was pretty much full and people were still ranting about empty seats. Hoping they get it today though and make my DH and DD happy.

InspectorClouseauMNdivision · 12/05/2019 15:54

I am currently listening to Anfield singing😁 Awesome atmosphere in a whole city.

BiggerBoat1 · 12/05/2019 15:55

As a massive City fan, I'm loving this Grin. Come on boys you're nearly there

Ohnotanothernamechange · 12/05/2019 15:57

Pretty much full

Yet Anfield is full for every single home game, so is Old Trafford. Go figure....

City should have stayed at Main Road.

hartof · 12/05/2019 15:58

🙄

primarywoodle · 12/05/2019 16:00

The last day like this was the first time city won the league (2011/2012?) And it came down to united and city on the last day.. and down to the last few minutes!

Watched it in the pub with united on one tv and city on another - was incredible

primarywoodle · 12/05/2019 16:01

Old trafford is full of tourists not fans though...

JanMeyer · 12/05/2019 16:01

I hate Man City but feel torn because Leroy Sane is German, so should be rooting for them. Of course then you have Klopp on the other side, so I can't quite make my mind up. It's funny though, Klopp's old side Dortmund are in a similar position, with just a two point gap between them and league leaders Bayern.
Between the English and German league title races and the champions league shocks it has been an excellent football season.

AguerosAngel · 12/05/2019 16:03

Family of City fans here!

Nearly there Blues, C’mon City 💙

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 12/05/2019 16:03

Ah done i was kind of meaning as neutral and at the title end of the table. Although yes i do remeber that, and the years that followed.

Oh i think we've astinished every one, including ourselves at times. I know we were a class above the championship last year. But thats happened before and the promoted team have struggled with the prem. But we really haven't we've a bloody amazing cup run too. And we've been the "the best of the rest" in the league. And we've done it with only 19? Players just amazing

I think nuno is almost as big a miricle worker as GT was in tje 1980's.

Oh I'm not denying that most United fans live outside Manchester, but you've got to admit that it's pretty embrassing when you see the Ethiad half empty on a CL night.

Redshoeblueshoe · 12/05/2019 16:06

I feel sick. Come on Brighton
City fans making loads of noise (well I do live in Manchester)
DH supports Man U, so he's not happy either
Never give up

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 12/05/2019 16:07

It's not as empty as people make out either. I was at one match that was pretty much full

😂😂😂😂😂😂 wow "pretty much full"

You literally can't get tickets for other clubs that are in thd big 6 as their called and there is a massive waiting list.

Pretty much full actally proves what people are saying about it being souless and unatteneded

WelcomeToShootingStars · 12/05/2019 16:11

Everton fan here and I'm supporting City hard today 😊

Myothercarisalsoshit · 12/05/2019 16:14

Soulless and unattended? Sorry but that’s bollocks.

Sweetpea55 · 12/05/2019 16:14

Magpies are this house. We are cheering on Man City today. As well as our own team of course😁👍
