What a great week for football.
Loved the games this week.

But its a long time since the title went down to the wire like this. Even the miricle year leicester won theg won by 10 points, last year CIty ran away with it.

When was the last time it went down to the last natch like this? Blackburn and man u in 1995?

I'm a wolves fan and we're playing liverpool but i'm desparate for liverpool to win the title. I really dislike city. I of course always want the gold and black army to win but i'm almost happier if we lose today.

Myothercar Don’t bite any more, we’re champions! Grin

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 12/05/2019 16:51

Itsagrandoldteam that game was mad. 2-1 down and to come back to win 3-2 in 5 minutes or so. This is a bit meh in comparison.

Ohnotanothernamechange · 12/05/2019 16:51

I wouldn't understimate Spurs in the CL final either.

Myothercarisalsoshit · 12/05/2019 16:52

Sakura yes indeed! Even though it’s a (whisper it) cup competition!

Ohnotanothernamechange · 12/05/2019 16:54

Itsagransoldteam you haven't won anything since 1995 and that was a fluke goal against United.

Yep, bitter....

FireflyEden · 12/05/2019 16:54

So sad for Liverpool, to have 97 points and lost only once this season and still not win the Premiership! Bring on the Champions League.

Myothercarisalsoshit · 12/05/2019 16:55

AguerosAngel just having a laugh now at the Yaya \ Kolo dance! Blue MoonStar

burblish · 12/05/2019 16:55

As a Liverpool fan since before our last league title, I’m heart-broken today but also so, so proud of the Liverpool players, manager and fans. YNWA

@burblish YNWA

Myothercarisalsoshit · 12/05/2019 17:03

burblish good luck on 1st June! Brilliant brilliant team.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 12/05/2019 17:03

I'm amazed that despite being so bad Chelsea have finished 3rd. We've been the best of such a bad bunch

Sakura7 · 12/05/2019 17:16

This will probably come and bite me in a few weeks time, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Liverpool blow it in the CL as well.

As well as what? I really don't think anyone can accuse Liverpool of blowing the league when they scored the third highest points tally in Premier League history. City have gone on an insane run since January, 14 wins in a row and have only won the league by a whisker. The standards the top two are setting are incredible.

Cool, I look forward to seeing the trophy for that Wink

Genuinely though, it’s all very lovely and impressive but they haven’t won the league.

Sakura7 · 12/05/2019 17:21

Yes I know that Jacques, but they hardly blew it, they went toe to toe with another incredible side and lost out by a whisker. Neither team dropped points in the run in. It is what it is.

JacquesHammer · 12/05/2019 17:24

And I strongly suspect what it is, is another season of no silverware - that was my point. Smile

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 12/05/2019 17:24

Wouldn't say they bottled it. Did have a 7 point or so lead in January but that can and was easily closed in the end.

JacquesHammer · 12/05/2019 17:25

I didn’t say they bottled it. I think they’ll blow it in the CL as well. “As well” meaning “in addition to not winning any domestic silverware”.

Sakura7 · 12/05/2019 17:28

Blowing it means to be in an advantageous position but to mess it up at the end, which Liverpool did do in 2014 when it was in their hands, but not now. This was just two amazing teams pushing each other to the very end, both should be incredibly proud of what they've achieved. More points than all of Man Utd's title winning sides, Arsenal's invincibles, and Mourinho's Chelsea.

InspectorClouseauMNdivision · 12/05/2019 17:30

That was so badly phrased...🙄

They didn't blow anything. They have done incredibly well. It would be awesome to bring the title here, but everyone has to admit that this is still a massive joy and achievement!

Itsagrandoldteam · 12/05/2019 17:30

Ohnotanothernamechange you haven't won anything since 1995 and that was a fluke goal against United.

Yep, bitter....

I can 100% assure you that I am neither sad nor bitter - as I already said "I'm over the fecking moon"

JacquesHammer · 12/05/2019 17:31

They didn't blow anything

That’s your opinion.

Mine is a team of those players should have won something domestically. It’s fairly poor they didn’t.

I am terribly sorry I didn’t bother writing as carefully as I do for my job though, here’s just fun!

NameChangeNugget · 12/05/2019 17:33

As a neutral, I’m delighted Man City have won it. First domestic treble ever, would be an amazing achievement.
They’re up their with Arsenal’s invincibles

Patroclus · 12/05/2019 17:33

Its actually the same everywhere with empty seats, and its to be expected in Manchester which has one of, if not the biggest club in the world and then City with similar ambitions. Its going to take a while for the new generations to start coming. When city were down in the leagues and UTD playing Barca with Beckham, Ronaldo etc. who are kids going to chose to support in manchester? thats a lifelong thing which takes time to change.

InspectorClouseauMNdivision · 12/05/2019 17:35

@JacquesHammer I think you have a different definition of "blow something" to everyone else 🤷‍♀️

Oblomov19 · 12/05/2019 17:36

Very exciting. This week. Liverpool. Then spurs. Arsenal. And Chelsea.
And then today. Brighton going 1-0 up.

All in all, fab!
