So we live in a relatively new build which has 6 designated spaces (think 1A, 1B, 1C and so on)

I'm not long back and there is a car in my space, so I parked in the one next to me. The next door neighbour came out and asked me to move as her husband is due back soon.
But move where!!

AIBU?

I'm guessing that penguins are going to appear in the neighbours space soon.

Singlebutmarried · 12/05/2019 10:55

Ok so when NDN gets back ask if they mind you blocking them in also so that you can reclaim your space (if the car alarm thing doesn’t pan out). Just have a chat with them. People are usually pretty reasonable.

TheInvestigator · 12/05/2019 10:57

Have you knocked on all the doors in your building? It could be anyone from another building but the first thing you do is try your own building. Have you?

Why didn't you move your car as soon as the shopping was taken in? You don't own that space. You have no right to park on it. Someone else has parked in yours and that is your problem to sort out. You do not just use your neighbours space.

Pinkyyy · 12/05/2019 10:58

Why is 7 minutes too far to walk?

Omzlas · 12/05/2019 10:58

"Just houses that have their own cars on the road"

So park on the road then, it won't hurt until the C.F. leaves

And yes, YABU. You're as bad as the person who parked in your space. It doesn't give you carte Blanche to park in someone else's space and inconvenience them too

WindsweptEgret · 12/05/2019 10:59

I'm not saying I need it more but I couldn't carry a car seat and look after my toddler and other child and shopping from 7 mins away. You can move the car now though. Just put the baby in a carrier or stroller.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 12/05/2019 10:59

I’d move my car if the owner wanted to park there, but I don’t think this has happened. Maybe I’m not understanding this set up properly. Have you found out who the car belongs to yet?

TSSDNCOP · 12/05/2019 11:00

The council did that.

And the rest is bullshit. No ones that inconsiderate.

NCforThisO1 · 12/05/2019 11:02

No I haven't found out who it begins to, the other 4 spaces are still empty so I'm assuming they are out and like I said there's a block of flats to the left, a good 28 houses in them and I ain't knocking on them all 🤦‍♂️

donquixotedelamancha · 12/05/2019 11:02

Block the CF in, then just watch for neighbours coming back.

It is in there interest to discourage this behaviour, as much as it is yours.

Tulipvase · 12/05/2019 11:04

It’s irrelevant that the husband isn’t back yet. You have been asked to move, so move.

Fairenuff · 12/05/2019 11:06

Block them in. It's so obvious. Everyone is telling you to do this. You can put a note on the NDN car to say you'll move it they want to come in/out.

NCforThisO1 · 12/05/2019 11:07

I cant block them in there is no space

OP posts:
DesparateDino · 12/05/2019 11:08

Just move your car out of the neighbours space OP. It doesn't belong to you.

AdobeWanKenobi · 12/05/2019 11:10

Let me see if I understand this.

You're annoyed about being inconvenienced by someone in your space, so you park in someone else then get annoyed because they are angry at you for inconveniencing them?

Righty ho.

flumpybear · 12/05/2019 11:10

Picture?
Can you just park behind them so they have to find you to get out?! I'd also put a note on their windscreen

NCforThisO1 · 12/05/2019 11:11

I've not inconvenienced anybody though, the husband hasn't come home

Cant park behind them as it's just curbs

OP posts:
OKBobble · 12/05/2019 11:12

Just move your bloody car!

MidniteScribbler · 12/05/2019 11:12

Are you seriously this fucking stupid?

You are not allowed to park in their fucking carpark! Move your goddamned car!

my2bundles · 12/05/2019 11:12

Move your car and try to find out who owns the cat. You carnt just park in your neighbours spot because they arnt using it right now, you weren't using yours when someone parked in it and look how you are reacting, look how it's inconviencing you.

Hercules12 · 12/05/2019 11:12

Op- why don't you just move your car 7 minutes walk away?Confused

TheInvestigator · 12/05/2019 11:13

What part of "it's not your space and it's not their problem" don't you understand?

Doesn't matter if he isn't home yet. If she just wants to stare at her empty space then that's what she's allowed to do... It's theirs. It's not yours. Move your car.

PotteryLady · 12/05/2019 11:14

How can there be a kerb behind your space? How would you get in? Need a diagram

Fairenuff · 12/05/2019 11:14

I'm starting to wonder why you posted OP.

S1naidSucks · 12/05/2019 11:15

Can you park on the other side of them? When your neighbour comes back you should each park as tight as possible on each side of them, so they can’t get into their car.

Lean against the car and give it a few good things with your bum, that’ll set the alarm off.

Go around to the front/back of it and pretend your scratching it all over. If they’re smugly watching you, they’ll soon appear.
