So we live in a relatively new build which has 6 designated spaces (think 1A, 1B, 1C and so on)

I'm not long back and there is a car in my space, so I parked in the one next to me. The next door neighbour came out and asked me to move as her husband is due back soon.
But move where!!

AIBU?

Weirdly enough somebody just parked in another neighbours space (space 2) and headed for the flats, neighbour came home and has parked in space 1 which is a disabled parking space Shock

NCforThisO1 · 12/05/2019 13:37

My car has been moved now Wine

I didn't put a note on their car as I didn't know what to say, I strong suspect it was somebody from the flats but have no way of knowing

Fairenuff · 12/05/2019 13:39

I can just imagine them driving away happily in their car thinking that no-one was inconvenienced by them at all. Blissful ignorance Smile

NCforThisO1 · 12/05/2019 13:41

And still no sign of the husband!!

Inconvenienced a wee bit but not as frothed up as half of you Grin

We have a similar set up, and it's really annoying when someone parks in our space. We always go on the road though so as not to inconvenience someone the same way we have been. We also put a note - it just says something like "Please do not park in this space again as it belongs to our house" - short and to the point.

Antigon · 12/05/2019 13:50

I didn't put a note on their car as I didn't know what to say

Right, but you can start a thread of MN about it. Late to this thread, but well done on frothing people up OP, that was clearly your aim.

Are you the same poster who didn't want to call an ambulance for the motorcyclist who had an accident on her road?

I really hope the neighbour who's space you parked in is reading this thread and having a wee chuckle. You've had your arse handed to you OP but never mind. It's all over now anyway.

NCforThisO1 · 12/05/2019 14:01

I've read the thread and had a chuckle Grin posters calling me a bitch for parking in an unused space Grin

NoSauce · 12/05/2019 14:02

Why did you NC for this??

flowery · 12/05/2019 14:05

”Inconvenienced a wee bit but not as frothed up as half of you”

Your OP suggested you felt more than “inconvenienced a bit” by the person parking in your space.

If I started a thread on AIBU every time I was “inconvenienced a bit” I’d be clogging up the board with my moans and would have to abandon my children to fend for themselves by foraging for food.

Lllot5 · 12/05/2019 14:05

Alls well that ends well I guess. You’ve moved your car back into your space before your neighbour come back no harm done.

WidowTwonky · 12/05/2019 14:14

no harm done well I’d hope that neighbour has realised what a ignorant person she lives near and offers no help to her in the future

cabcab · 12/05/2019 14:15

YABU, but I think you know that now!

Also, the PA, I'll move it shortly so they don't stress ......... not good.

loobylou10 · 12/05/2019 14:18

Wind up merchant - no one can be this thick.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 12/05/2019 14:19

Would you be able to get one of those collapsible locking poles for your space, to stop other people parking in it? If the people who own the land would agree to that it might solve the problem.

Parking issues are a fucking nightmare, especially when there aren't enough spaces to go round.

YWBU to park in the neighbour's spot, but since it didn't inconvenience them in the slightest in the end, and it's not something you'd do regularly, I wouldn't fret about it now.

LarryGreysonsDoor · 12/05/2019 14:23

Who called you a bitch?
I saw someone say that Karma is a bitch...

flowery · 12/05/2019 14:24

If “parking in an unused space” is ok, why did you start the thread? Confused

Lllot5 · 12/05/2019 15:03

If my neighbour had loads of shopping and two little kids and somebody had parked in her space I’d let her use mine if it was free. As long as she moved when my husband came home. Which she has.

Tigerlilly17 · 12/05/2019 15:31

I have this issue constantly. Others with too many cars or visitors think they can park on my privately owned space ( as per the deeds to my property) . I’ve put notes on, blocked them in and had shouting matches, but I’ve never put mine in someone else’s space as it’s my problem , so not fair to inconvenience them also. I even have frigging private property, keep out signs up ffs.
One nutter thinks I’m in the wrong telling people to get off my property I pay for . Told her it’s tresspassing and nobody but me has a right to park On my property. She responds by attempting to park over my space up against my car ha ha. Don’t think she knows everybody is calling her a mental case behind her back and laughing .

Just block the offender in and take your time moving. Also contact your management company if you have one and complain.

Pinkyyy · 12/05/2019 15:34

I hope you don't expect them to take your parcels after that behaviour.

cabcab · 12/05/2019 15:34

@Lllot5 she moved because her space was free, otherwise she wouldn't have.

She's whinging about someone using her space and then using someone else's.

She's also PA by saying I'll move it in a while.

She's also accusing PPS of calling her a bitch, they didn't.

Apart from that she's done nothing wrong Grin
.

Tigerlilly17 · 12/05/2019 15:43

I actually have a stash of printed notes when assholes drive into my private , and clearly marked with a no parking sign space. I keep them in my car and they read as follows:

WARNING!!!!
To the driver of the car tress-passing on private property,
You are parked on private property that is clearly marked as such . This is a privately owned space that I PAY FOR !!! You are causing gross inconvenience and have no permission/right to be here. Your reg has been noted and if I catch you on my property again , you will find yourself blocked in until further notice. Also I have rights obtain your details via the dvla to take civil action against you .

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 12/05/2019 16:05

I've read the thread and had a chuckle grin posters calling me a bitch for parking in an unused space grin

I certainly didn’t see anyone calling you a bitch but if it’s fine for you to park in an unused space why post on here moaning that someone else did the same ... or is it different when the unused space is the one YOU want to use?

Kel801 · 12/05/2019 16:15

Gosh you are determined to be a victim here aren’t you
