So we live in a relatively new build which has 6 designated spaces (think 1A, 1B, 1C and so on)

I'm not long back and there is a car in my space, so I parked in the one next to me. The next door neighbour came out and asked me to move as her husband is due back soon.
But move where!!

AIBU?

Well make sure you give them a telling off OP. It's very rude.

As for parking in your neighbour's spot, you're the one totally out of order there. You should have asked her first.

malmi · 12/05/2019 11:48

Why should the neighbour be forced to contend with the back and forth parkers? Just because you want his space instead of having to deal with them yourself?

You could have knocked on all the flats by now.

Also, you haven't provided a diagram so YABU for that too.

Move your car now, the 7 minutes' walk will give you time to think it through clearly.

LettuceP · 12/05/2019 11:48

But he can't use one of those spaces because THEY ARE NOT HIS FUCKING SPACES! YOU ARE IN HIS SPACE!

Weenurse · 12/05/2019 11:48

Who is the culprit?

floraloctopus · 12/05/2019 11:49

YABVU and quite unpleasant. Do what others have said and park behind the car in your space but be prepared for a row.

NannyRed · 12/05/2019 11:50

Block the car in that’s taken your space, then pour yourself a large glass of wine/gin etc so as you can’t possibly drive for at least an hour!

my2bundles · 12/05/2019 11:52

Why should he park in one of tne other 4 spaces when he has a perfectly good one of his own? Move your blinking car you inconsiderate bleep

IHaveNoIdeaReally · 12/05/2019 11:53

You're just as bad as the person who took your spot. Actually you're worse because you clearly have your kids and shopping inside now and you've been asked to move and are being a stubborn entitled brat about it.

Dotty1970 · 12/05/2019 11:54

Your just a first class d*ick who is a bad as the one parked in your space, why you had to ask opinions when you clearly think your right anywayConfused

RestingBitchFaced · 12/05/2019 11:54

I would have blocked them in even if there were kerbs!

JaneEyre07 · 12/05/2019 11:54

Rock the car and set its alarm off.

Usually sends the owner running to see whats going on.

S1naidSucks · 12/05/2019 11:54

I honestly don’t think this is real.

I bet OP is having a right chuckle.

SmellNO · 12/05/2019 11:56

Block them in and be 'out' when they knock and ask you to move.

NCforThisO1 · 12/05/2019 11:57

Oh yes because I would make this up Hmm

OP posts:
Singlebutmarried · 12/05/2019 11:59

So it wasn’t the culprit then.

my2bundles · 12/05/2019 11:59

If it's not made up why is it so hard for you to see what a selfish entitled twat you are being?

bluebeck · 12/05/2019 11:59

Did your wheelie bin damage their car? Grin

quizqueen · 12/05/2019 12:00

Block the car in, which is in your space, by parking directly behind it. Leave a note saying telling them they have parked irresponsibly. Don't move the car until you need to go out yourself. I guess it's a visitor to one of the flats, so let them be inconvenienced when they want to leave.

I came home once to find a car on my drive. It was an insurance guy who had come to the wrong house but, when realising his mistake, he hadn't bothered to move his car. I just blocked him in and left my car there for ages and went and had a shower. He moaned he would be late for his next appointment. 'Oh dear', I said, 'What a shame'. I don't think he'll do that again in a hurry.

Which is you space, OP?

Nikhedonia · 12/05/2019 12:03

*your

Lochroy · 12/05/2019 12:06

It's a crap situation but as you've been asked to move you have to move. I think you have two options

  1. park blocking the CF and if it parts blocks another space leave a note on your car

  2. just use another space and leave a note on your car

FWIW I understand why you can't park miles away with shopping and three kids but you can't just pass on the inconvenience. Make sure you tell the CF what you think when you see them

NCforThisO1 · 12/05/2019 12:06

Space 5

OP posts:
Eliza9919 · 12/05/2019 12:08

How do you get into and out of spaces 4,5,6 if cars are in the spaces?

SoupDragon · 12/05/2019 12:09

Nobody owns it I'm sure. . Otherwise the people parked wouldn't have parked in my space if they thought I owned it.

Confused you said they were designated spaces.
