to be super puzzled why my elbow stinks

what on earth...... I am clean. I am always clean. However for the past few days my right elbow (the crook of it) has been omitting a god awful stench. I can't wash it off. It is foul.

It smells like feet and rot and awfulness. There is no broken skin, it just looks like a normal elbow. WTF.

why is this happening? anyone got any ideas? soap isn't doing anything!

Once you finish your treatment with the canesten, I suggest you start using coconut oil on wet skin after you shower. It is antifungal and antibacterial so it can prevent the fungus from reappearing (you will smell like a Bounty bar, though).

No, and nor does most of my skin. But if I do exercise or it’s hot, I get sweaty all over and smell if I don’t then wash. We deodorise under our arms because we sweat more there, in what tends to be an area not very exposed to the air, rather than because it’s the only part of our body that produces sweat.

@MNHQ is there a reason this has not made classics yet? Are we waiting on definitive resolution?

I know this is an old thread, but I have the same issue It started when I was pregnant, and is continuing thru breastfeeding. So gross! I think it’s the hormones causing eczema... in just the one elbow! And maybe it’s smelly because since sleeping with a pregnancy pillow, I tend to have that elbow bent behind a pillow most nights. I think the lack of air makes the eczema extra smelly haha

I know this is an old thread but I landed here on my never ending search as to why my inner elbow smelled like cat pee, I smelled it sitting on the couch trying to figure out if my cat peed on it and no washing or scrubbing got rid of it. I read the whole thread it was great and am adopting smellbow. I have washed in antifungal wash and so far so good.

Oh my my my the canesten is working!

I was going to suggest Daktarin, but any antifungal should work. I had something similar a few years ago, I had athlete's foot and despite applying the cream between my toes and lots of washing, I couldn't work out why I could smell it.

Lifting my foot, I couldn't smell anything. Then I cottoned on.
