to be super puzzled why my elbow stinks

what on earth...... I am clean. I am always clean. However for the past few days my right elbow (the crook of it) has been omitting a god awful stench. I can't wash it off. It is foul.

It smells like feet and rot and awfulness. There is no broken skin, it just looks like a normal elbow. WTF.

why is this happening? anyone got any ideas? soap isn't doing anything!

@EBearhug it can increase the risk of meningitis, that's why you have to avoid getting hibiscrub in contact with your brain

TheLittleDogLaughed · 12/05/2019 07:18

But how would you get hibiscrib in contact with your brain? I’d imagine that by the time you’d drilled a big enough hole in your skull to squirt a bit in, you’d probably have passed out. Therefore the risk is non-existent?

Innersmellbow · 12/05/2019 08:58

Therefore the risk is non-existent?

Unless you're undergoing brain surgery.....

TheLittleDogLaughed · 12/05/2019 09:24

innersmellbow in your own home? 😱

EBearhug · 12/05/2019 09:39

Someone else could be doing the trepanning. It's not just a DIY risk.

Lovestonap · 12/05/2019 09:51

You know when you read the first page of a thread and then skip to the last page and think "what the fuck?!" That.

LittleLongDog · 12/05/2019 10:09

OP in all seriousness are you feeling well in every other way?

I know some people can detect illnesses through smell. Although what kind of illness you’d have just in your smellbow I don’t know.

You haven’t been rubbing any hibiscrub into your brain lately have you?

Sb74 · 12/05/2019 11:54

Is it coz you don’t know your arse from your elbow 😂 sorry couldn’t resist.

ShowMeTheKittens · 12/05/2019 12:39

You probably have candida. You need to go to the GP.

LeatherFace · 12/05/2019 12:51

Re the Hibiscrub, it can get it on your brain through your ear if your ear drum has gone wrong! But agreed, slightly random warning IMHO.

Back to the elbow, does it still smell??

TheLittleDogLaughed · 12/05/2019 13:20

Leatherface wins medical explanation of the thread with “if your eardrum has gone wrong.” 😂😂😂

NicoAndTheNiners · 12/05/2019 13:25

I was reading something odd yesterday about transferring biomes from non BO people to people with BO to change the micro flora or something. So get a cotton bud and wipe it round your nice elbow and then rub the cotton bud on your stinky one. Repest for two weeks. Grin

NicoAndTheNiners · 12/05/2019 13:28

Your knee pit is a popliteal fossa btw.

NicoAndTheNiners · 12/05/2019 13:29

And elbow pits are cubiteal fossa.

shedid · 12/05/2019 13:30

Sounds like Candida.
That's exactly what it smells like

Alizzle · 12/05/2019 13:37

OP, does it still smell?

TheLittleDogLaughed · 12/05/2019 15:43

Amputate.

Pashazade · 12/05/2019 17:21

This thread is wonderful. I'm getting some very weird looks from DH as I'm giggling away. Might succumb to sniffing my elbows later......

powkin · 12/05/2019 19:31

@NicoAndTheNiners thank you! Now I know!

user1498572889 · 12/05/2019 19:34

Smellbow 😂😂

TheLittleDogLaughed · 12/05/2019 19:45

Or in OP’s case the cheesy cubiteal fossa fold.

EggWrap · 12/05/2019 19:48

I feel bad for you son
I got 99 problems but smellbows ain't one🎶

Drops mike. Smells elbow. Smiles and nods at the fresh scent.

LabradorMama · 12/05/2019 19:56

@ferrier ‘fraid not, I don’t have a shower in my house but have daily baths. Still need my cotton buds Grin

Enidthecat · 12/05/2019 20:01

This thread has been popping up regularly and I cba to read it as I didn't think it would be funny.

How wrong I was! I've also just sat here trying to sniff my elbow and thinking how come everyone else can and I can't reach mine, until I realised you have to turn your arm the opposite way. Ffs. Blush

Bluebobolink · 12/05/2019 22:56

OP i know it seems like a minute thing to bother your GP with but I'd get it checked out, I'm prone to cellulitis in my leg (infections under the skin that become very hot and inflamed then pus-y) and that kind of thing needs to be caught as soon as possible. It may be something and nothing but if its something infectious starting you're as well to catch it as soon as you can - I can always smell ear infections starting so you might just be super-sensitive.
