Good on meghan... Not standing on hospital steps in precarious heels with perfect blow dry

Really?
Heels - tick
Perfect hair - tick
Castle instead of hospital, so even better.

Lweji · 08/05/2019 14:23

I think she looks fine.
The dress doesn't flatter her post-birth shape, but she looks happy and healthy.

Happyandglorious · 08/05/2019 14:23

Was worth reading just for GunpowderGelatine's potato

Macandcheese05 · 08/05/2019 14:24

aww, any baby is a blessing. hello little baby!

ineedaknittedhat · 08/05/2019 14:24

It's a baby. He's never going to have to worry about his education, healthcare, housing, safety or paying the gas bill. The vast majority of babies born in the UK will have to worry about these things as they get older.

GunpowderGelatine · 08/05/2019 14:24

True Sagra it wasn't a pop at them two, they're like any first time parents and DH and I were the same...in fact I think when DD was 5 day's old DH used the word "easy" Blush well she showed us not long after that how easy it was Grin

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 08/05/2019 14:25

What an unflattering dress they put her in. They both look happy though and the little lad is cute

Who is they? I’m sure Meghan is more than capable of choosing her own clothes. Why do you assume someone has put her in it?

She looked good.

goldenchicken · 08/05/2019 14:25

@GunpowderGelatine

So now the baby looks like a potato? Confused

What the fuck is wrong with you? The baby is gorgeous!

As for the comments about Meghan. I agree with @HBStowe - the poor lass can't do a damn thing right in the eyes of some.

She is soooo loathed by some people. What the hell is wrong with them? What did she do to receive so much wrath?! Why so much hate? Confused

happyhillock · 08/05/2019 14:26

They both looked really proud with there new baby, i bet Meghan kicked these shoes off went she was out of camera sight, a new baby is alway's a blessing no matter who you are.

phoenixrosehere · 08/05/2019 14:26

@ChardonnaysPrettySister

So them having it at a hospital and the press swarming it, likely making it difficult for people to get in and out is better?

Sure. Hmm

TruffleShuffles · 08/05/2019 14:26

HBStowe my comments weren’t a criticism of Meghan and Harry, they were criticism of the expectations of the general public and possibly the palace of what is expected of them within days of a life changing event.

Meghan should not have been put in this position at all IMO, which is why I said they should just have released a photo of the baby to keep the public at bay.

GunpowderGelatine · 08/05/2019 14:27

I rather like her dress (VERY brave choice to wear white).

Poor woman could cure cancer and someone would whine about the colour of her heels.

GunpowderGelatine · 08/05/2019 14:28

I agree @goldenchicken he's lovely, but all newborns look the same - like potatoes, rather than other humans (it was supposed to be a joke Confused)

Slightly disappointed we couldn't see his hair colour Grin

Flossie44 · 08/05/2019 14:28

Pictures of the royal baby are in the press. I showed Dd and she said ‘oh....that just looks like a normal baby!’ I asked what she thought it would look like. She said ‘well...different!! And id at least expect it to be wearing a suit!’

GunpowderGelatine · 08/05/2019 14:28

She is soooo loathed by some people. What the hell is wrong with them? What did she do to receive so much wrath?! Why so much hate?

Because she is two things people hate most in the world - female and black

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 08/05/2019 14:29

What I meant is castle surely tops hospital as location for photo shoot?

wengie · 08/05/2019 14:30

Gunpowder that's exactly what I thought.

KurriKurri · 08/05/2019 14:31

Yeah she was in heels - but I'm hoping that when she went back through that door she had her fluffy slippers waiting and popped them on.
Any comments about what she looks like, is wearing, how they conduct themselves after the birth of thier child just come across as very mean spirited.

I'm a republican, but that doesn't mean I can't wish a young couple and their new baby all the best.
Baby's a cutie obviously.

Biancadelrioisback · 08/05/2019 14:32

When I saw the pic I did a big smile because I remember that feeling. Knackered, smiling because you have to, wanting to laugh/smile/cry/sleep all at the same time, desperately trying to walk normally when it feels like you have a potato hanging out your vagina.... I only wish I had someone to do my hair and makeup for me as I looked like a sack of shit trying to hold it together.

Whatthefoxgoingon · 08/05/2019 14:32

Baby looks like a normal baby.

Mum has normal post partum body.

Why the nasty bitchy comments people?

lboogy · 08/05/2019 14:33

Some people revel is being bitchy. Congratulations to them both. They have a beautiful baby

Bluerussian · 08/05/2019 14:34

They've just shown their baby, I doubt they'll be parading him around everywhere. Must say I didn't particularly notice Meghan's dress, I'll maybe have another look,

GunpowderGelatine · 08/05/2019 14:34

Who cares if she does or doesn't throw her shoes off and puts her slippers on? Maybe she likes wearing heels. I hate this perception that women have to not care about their appearance before we sympathise with them.

goldenchicken · 08/05/2019 14:36

Sorry @GunpowderGelatine I am just tired of all the bile and vitriol, and I don't think he DOES look like a potato! Grin
