What an unflattering dress they put her in.

Utter bollocks! She looked lovely. How about posting a photo of how you looked two days post birth?

I'm no huge fan on hers or him for that matter but some of the criticism is nonsensical. For example all the bitching because they involved an American broadcaster. Why on Earth shouldn't they? M is American, she has people in her own country who are interested in her and her child. Her child is half American.

She can't do anything right.

Gustavo1 · 08/05/2019 14:37

I watched the little video clip on the BBC and it’s lovely. Gorgeous baby, proud and happy parents. What’s to moan about?

ZippyBungleandGeorge · 08/05/2019 14:38

I'm not a fan of PH and MM , but cute baby and she looks better than I do with a five month old! I don't think I wore anything but PJs or leggings and long tops for at least two weeks

RiversDisguise · 08/05/2019 14:41

Cute baby. I hadn't really registered that Harry had got married. Still picture him as about six.

HollowTalk · 08/05/2019 14:42

Such a load of bitches around on MN.

FaFoutis · 08/05/2019 14:42

You can't relate her experience to your own unless you are very wealthy.

LittleAndOften · 08/05/2019 14:44

I blew up like a balloon during the last month, and more so during labour, I can't be the only one and I also can't see how it's anything anyone would have control over?! Your body does what it does and we're all different. Growing and birthing babies is a bloody miracle and everyone who does it deserves support and admiration, not condemnation.

I thought she looked beautiful, but very nervous and kept touching Harry like she needed some extra support. Who knows what transpired during her labour - we've all had our fair share of interventions and birth traumas. I bet she can't wait to get home and relax. I certainly had no interest in visitors during the first few days and anyone telling me to get my glad rags on would have received short shrift! I think she found it tough.

merrygoround51 · 08/05/2019 14:45

They look very happy although her walk did have that walk of a new mum with a massive maternity pad and stitches.

I don't think its either admirable or ridiculous that Meghan/ Kate stand with newborns for everyone to see. Its a few minutes and their hair and make up will be done for them. She wont be seen again for months. Agree the vitriol is because of her colour and I find it disgusting.

GunpowderGelatine · 08/05/2019 14:45

What a load of crap. Labour and birth and newborns don't know how rich you are.

KM99 · 08/05/2019 14:45

FFS. Seriously.

"I thought she'd look happier"

"That dress is awful"

"I feel sorry for her, Kate was more relaxed".

Etc etc

What happened to women supporting women? And mothers supporting mothers?

Quintella · 08/05/2019 14:46

Good on meghan... Not standing on hospital steps in precarious heels with perfect blow dry

Grin

Oh she really showed 'em......standing in a castle in precarious heels with a perfect blow dry

The dress doesn't sit well. It's a criticism of the dress. How is that a criticism of how she looks?

We all know post-birth women will still have huge bellies.

She looks fine.
The dress and how it sits on her body, doesn't. It's too stiff and structured for the shape. Perhaps she miscalculated how her body would be like post-birth.

StickyBlisteredAnus · 08/05/2019 14:47

I think she’s beautiful personally and for all those bitching ... upload a photo of yourselves 2 days after giving birth and let us all do a compare ...

FaFoutis · 08/05/2019 14:48

You know how rich you are. You know you will sleep and have people to look after you and the baby. You won't need to cook, shop, clean or even change a nappy unless you want to. It's completely different.

dayswithaY · 08/05/2019 14:49

I agree the dress is awful. That doesn't mean I hate her btw. She looked amazing.

Glitterblue · 08/05/2019 14:50

She can't win, whatever she does. All the comments about parading him in a castle after wanting to be normal - they've had a little bit of normality the day of the birth and the next day to enjoy him on their own without having to face the world's press and stand on hospital steps hours after giving birth, she's probably had 2 days in her pj's cuddling her baby. They've probably felt under pressure to show him, and they had to do it somewhere, even if it was a castle - and they are in the royal family after all, so as someone else said, it was hardly going to be in the middle of a council estate. I think the way they did it got the best of both worlds, showing him without too much fuss. How many of us would like to be on view like that 2 days after giving birth? I was an emotional mess at that point and feeling horrendous! Meghan looked beautiful. What a cruel comment saying she was a mile wide.

Alsohuman · 08/05/2019 14:51

Perhaps everyone should just leave the poor woman alone. If she’d turned out in maternity jeans and trainers there’d still be a tsunami of criticism. She’s damned whatever she does. Why can’t people just comment on the baby’s loveliness and his parents’ obvious happiness?

I really do not understand the hate, snarky comments and rudeness on MN sometimes. When it comes down to it a baby has been born and both mother and son are healthy and happy. That is all that matters. I am not particularly interested in the royal family but I do not see them as royals, I see them as two new parents who are completely overwhelmed and in love with their new baby. I wish them all well. And a huge huge well done to both William and Harry for focusing on their wives feelings and needs. Kate and Meghan were never pushed into something which made them uncomfortable even though they knew marrying a royal would be hard. Kate was clearly happy to stand outside with her husband and their new children (and William always made sure to go straight back inside when she asked) whereas Meghan needed some time to adjust and Harry put her needs first (by speaking to the press and telling them they just had to wait until his wife was ready). I have lots of respect to both of them.

luckybird07 · 08/05/2019 14:53

Congratulations to them. Megan looked just radiant and most reasonable human beings are just going to be happy for them and wish them well with the first member of their family. Nice that her mum is there looking after her as you can feel quite vulnerable afterwards- I was overseas and just had my husband and I am glad she has plenty of support. Beautiful family.

PortiaCastis · 08/05/2019 14:56

So what if a woman chooses to wear white for a couple of photos I expect she's back in her joggers by now and good luck to her

Quintella · 08/05/2019 14:56

As a royal couple with a new baby of course they have to do a turn for the press, that's par for the course. I just find some of the 'good for her, not doing what Kate did' type comments a bit silly seeing as she's done the very same thing as Kate, just in a different location. You don't need to pit the women against one another and pick a fave. It's not the Jennifer Aniston v Angelina Jolie Battle of 2001.

Maldives2006 · 08/05/2019 14:57

They live in the castle grounds and if you think that’s a prefect blow dry you’re going to the wrong hairdresser.

I think she looked lovely, natural and like a new mom. Meaghan is a very naturally beautiful lady therefore she will look like a naturally beautiful lady post natal.
