I feel so angry with Tommee Tippee that they've "gifted" her a perfect prep machine. Completely undermines her wish if she wants to breast feed. Plus she's such an influencer how much will this reduce our national breast feeding rates? Pregnant women will go and buy one just because she has one and not give themselves a chance to breastfeed Angry

People who don’t eat McDonald’s as children never start doing so.

Well, that's not true. I wasn't allowed to as a child and now I enjoy a nice double cheeseburger, yum!

MariaNovella · 10/05/2019 12:27

If you want to feed your children junk food there is currently no legislation preventing you from doing so. However, it is not “picky” to have food preferences - it is entirely normal to have food preferences and everybody does.

MariaNovella · 10/05/2019 12:29

Raspberry88 - I should have specified - in mature markets. Ie if you grow up in a mature McDonald’s market and don’t eat there, statistically you never will.

pikapikachu · 10/05/2019 12:30

People who don’t eat McDonald’s as children never start doing so.

If course that's bollocks or McDonalds and the like wouldn't have taken off in developing countries.

Katnisnevergreen · 10/05/2019 12:32

Anyone else really want a mcdonalds now? Grin

Sagradafamiliar · 10/05/2019 12:34

I said my DP is a picky eater. He is.
My food preferences are like my children's: we love mezzes, breads, oils, Mediterranean gastronomy, couls live off avocados and houmous, casseroles, and they lurve what the high street has to offer sometimes after school as well. No harm in a healthy attitude towards all types of food.

UnPocoLoco2 · 10/05/2019 12:35

@MariaNovella I'm beginning to think you work for McDonald's and are simply trying to get people to go and get their lunch or dinner there today 😂😂

Sagradafamiliar · 10/05/2019 12:35

Katnis I'm definitely having one later on! Yum yum

MariaNovella · 10/05/2019 12:36

A healthy attitude towards junk food is an oxymoron.

Sagradafamiliar · 10/05/2019 12:37

UnPoco right?! 😂 i didn't even fancy one until I read her posts.

PCohle · 10/05/2019 12:38

I am genuinely considering a Big Mac for lunch now 🍔🍟

Sagradafamiliar · 10/05/2019 12:39

Don't be so daft Maria a healthy attitude= balanced diet. Not one fraught with irrational angst and fear about certain food groups. Choose your items wisely and there are no problems. Healthy.

MariaNovella · 10/05/2019 12:42

There is nothing irrational about avoiding foods that are harmful to both individual health and the planet. The science is very clear indeed.

Sagradafamiliar · 10/05/2019 12:44

I just looove fries. I think it's the salt. I don't season out food with salt at home so it doesn't worry me. I'm not going to tie myself up in knots about potato+vegetable oil+ salt to the point of indoctrinating my children against 'evil fast food'. I think that's a harmful attitude.

PantsyMcPantsface · 10/05/2019 12:44

Wow this thread is absolute MN bingo gold. We've got cleaning products and eco-outrage, instagram influences, Hinch/notHinch, breastfeeding is easy/can be hard/is none of your business, Macdonalds is evil/cor I fancy a Big Mac now all in one thread.

Have we done loo brushes, fruit shoots and dog shit yet?

Sagradafamiliar · 10/05/2019 12:45

Our* sorry for all the typos. Too much excitement over the McD's I'm having later!

UnPocoLoco2 · 10/05/2019 12:46

@MariaNovella are you vegan by chance? Even vegans harm the planet with all the methane gas they produce . Just as 🐄 do too.

Sagradafamiliar · 10/05/2019 12:46

Pantsy the real question is, do you wear shoes at home or take them off? Grin

UnPocoLoco2 · 10/05/2019 12:47

@PantsyMcPantsface stick around. I'm sure it's coming up

MariaNovella · 10/05/2019 12:47

You are just trying to justify your own bad habits, sagrada Grin

MariaNovella · 10/05/2019 12:47

No I’m not vegan.

Sagradafamiliar · 10/05/2019 12:48

To who? I don't correlate food with being 'bad'.

Sagradafamiliar · 10/05/2019 12:48

I'm vegan 😂 but children aren't.

MariaNovella · 10/05/2019 12:49

You mean you choose to ignore the scientific facts about food.

UnPocoLoco2 · 10/05/2019 12:50

@MariaNovella I see, crazy vegans are everywhere so just wanted to ask. I still think you work for McDonald's and are trying to drum up business. I love a conspiracy theory me.....
