Mrs Hinch....perfect prep :-(

I feel so angry with Tommee Tippee that they've "gifted" her a perfect prep machine. Completely undermines her wish if she wants to breast feed. Plus she's such an influencer how much will this reduce our national breast feeding rates? Pregnant women will go and buy one just because she has one and not give themselves a chance to breastfeed Angry

Mrs hinch shows people how to clean on instagram

Fuckedoffat48b · 05/05/2019 16:37

Oh give up. Im sure tommee tippee will have a) asked her if she wanted it before sending it and b) buffed up on formula advertising law.

Really? You don't seem to have much of a grasp on how influencers or the formula industry work.

Mumberjack · 05/05/2019 16:37

Maybe she can’t breastfed? Or maybe she just doesn’t want to! I very much doubt that she’s going to influence individual feeding decisions.
As much as she sticks her phone down her pine scented toilet every two minutes etc I am sure she won’t be doing that kind of thing while she’s feeding her child.
And even if at one point she was going to feature her baby in stuff, I’d bet her management will be giving her ‘pointers’ on image etc.

MarshaBradyo · 05/05/2019 16:39

It’s targeted well to her audience. She’d better have been paid not just a freebie.

I don’t follow but looked, her book no 1 she’s done well considering her account v the usual staged IG account

gairytoes · 05/05/2019 16:41

It's certainly shady, and unethical if not illegal.

It's nothing to do with her own infant feeding choices and everything to do with influencing other new mothers to formula feed. New mothers who might have a perfectly functional pair of breasts, or almost certainly, a perfectly good kettle. Consume consume consume. And that's before we even touch on the immunological benefits of breastfeeding. Paving paradise at its finest. Creating need where there is none.

Slicedpineapple · 05/05/2019 16:43

Cut the woman some slack, she's been in hospital for ages. You don't know her feeding preferences. Are places like Mothercare meant to keep the perfect preps and anything formula related behind opaque doors, like cigarettes are in shops, just in case they make people consider formula feeding?

I know lots of people that desperately wanted to breastfeed but struggled and had to formula feed. A fed baby is a happy baby. Perfect preps are a god send for formula feeding mums.

Skiptheskip · 05/05/2019 16:43

Her feeding choices are so none of your business

As soon as she puts them all over her Insta then they are.

All this “oh Hinchers, what milk do you use? Do you have to take your own milk into hospital?” bollocks is so false.

How about she asks her midwife or the hospital. Hmm

Guarantee that as soon as the results of her not at all subtle poll are in she’ll be “gifted” a shitload of baby milk too.

Mrsjayy · 05/05/2019 16:43

Is her baby born yet ? She m7ght never usethe machine but many mums mix feed anyway so what if she uses it she won't be allowed to advertise brands of formula so what is the issue ?

alwaysreadthelabel · 05/05/2019 16:44

People who choose to buy products based on some random that they don't know on IG are idiots. Do your own research! I still don't understand these "influencers". They are just people taking freebies from companies and saying nice things as they got then for free. Are people really taken in by these tactics if over the age of 21?

WeMarchOn · 05/05/2019 16:47

On her stories she asked what milk is best if you can't breastfeed, some can't and it's up to her what she chooses to do!!

I hope she isn't on her and reads this, whatever happened to Mum's sticking together

NameChangeMcgee · 05/05/2019 16:49

FFS if she didn't want to put the machine on her feed she wouldn't have. I'm no fan of Mrs. H but I hardly think Tommy Tippee are holding this Olympic level consumer at gun point to advertise their stuff.

PetuniaPetunia · 05/05/2019 16:49

Virtually everyone can breastfeed. For most women formula feeding is a choice.

Skiptheskip · 05/05/2019 16:49

On her stories she asked what milk is best if you can't breastfeed

No, she created a poll and named two of the leading brands. It’s so blindly obvious what she’s doing - it’s shady as fuck.

MsSquiz · 05/05/2019 16:51

@Skiptheskip how is her asking her followers these questions any different to first time mums on here asking them?

Slicedpineapple · 05/05/2019 16:51

WeMarchOn

Unfortunately I think she is on here. The DM also get hold of stuff off here and given she's had to cancel her book tour dates, I imagine would snap up things about her. I don't think people would shame other mums like this so why do it to Mrs Hinch?

Maybe83 · 05/05/2019 16:54

She has been through a huge health issue her self in last year with a blood clot. Is on medication and has just gotten discharged from hospital. You have fuck all idea if she ll even be able to.

She isnt responsible for how women choose to feed their babies.

To be honest I am sick to death of people who CHOOSE to BF implying that women who dont are thick as shit and not capable of making their OWN decisions.

Some women don't want to "give themselves a chance to breastfeed". Which is perfectly fine.

As is another womans decision to DF.

Slicedpineapple · 05/05/2019 16:58

To be honest I am sick to death of people who CHOOSE to BF implying that women who dont are thick as shit and not capable of making their OWN decisions.

This. I attended a birthing class recently and the midwife said herself a fed baby is a happy baby, not one losing weight because the Mum feels ashamed of herself for topping up with formula or completely switching.

Nowadays woman seem to be pressured by other woman regarding their feeding choices and seem uncomfortable expressing wishes to formula feed.

PetuniaPetunia · 05/05/2019 17:00

If she isn't able to breastfeed giving formula is obviously fine. No need to advertise formula feeding equipment though.

hsegfiugseskufh · 05/05/2019 17:01

fuckedoff im not an idiot so dont assume i am one.

Skiptheskip · 05/05/2019 17:04

@MsSquiz so why didn’t she just come and ask on here then?

Because then she wouldn’t a get a free 6 months supply of baby milk gifted to her. Wink

Fairylea · 05/05/2019 17:05

I chose to formula feed both of my dc.

Seeing a perfect prep machine on the Instagram feed of someone such as Mrs Hinch would have made zero impact on my decision.

I think yet again women who choose to formula feed are being made to seem stupid / unable to read things for themselves and make decisions based on their own bodies.

It is not the same as rushing out to buy a Minky cleaning cloth ffs. Anyone who genuinely can’t see that is an epic fool.

Passthecherrycoke · 05/05/2019 17:06

Formula feeding is a choice, but it’s a valid choice, unless you believe women shouldn’t have autonomy over their own bodies

caughtinanet · 05/05/2019 17:06

It's not about her personal feeding choice as that is exactly that - personal.

What is disingenuous is pretending she doesn't know that whatever she says is going to be lapped up by her followers who want to be like her and think that buying the expensive stuff she is given will allow them to feel they are like her.

She's making money by exploiting those who may have fragile mental health and/or who are easily influenced into make poor financial decisions based on aspiring to something they aren't.
