Mrs Hinch....perfect prep :-(

I feel so angry with Tommee Tippee that they've "gifted" her a perfect prep machine. Completely undermines her wish if she wants to breast feed. Plus she's such an influencer how much will this reduce our national breast feeding rates? Pregnant women will go and buy one just because she has one and not give themselves a chance to breastfeed Angry

Her school friends regularly eat at McDonald’s and she is invited to join them but she absolutely won’t! She has other friends just like her.

Sagradafamiliar · 10/05/2019 11:23

Have you asked her why not? It doesn't seem very healthy or balanced to be horrified by an entire food joint. There is salad on the menu.

NewAccount270219 · 10/05/2019 11:27

I actually don't like McDonald's food and would never choose to eat there. If friends were I'd join them just for a drink but eat elsewhere.

However, I also have a massive sweet tooth and can (and do, especially when I feel down, which isn't great) eat a whole box of biscuits. I also have some lingering, though greatly diminished from my 20s, unhealthy issues around food and my body. Not eating McDonalds is not 'proof' of a perfect attitude to food or highly sophisticated tastes.

In any case, this is getting us a long way from the point of the thread...

MariaNovella · 10/05/2019 11:36

She’s perfectly entitled to think McDonald’s is revolting!

londonloves · 10/05/2019 11:37

Yes she is. I don't think you're entitled to attribute it to her being breast fed though.

Sagradafamiliar · 10/05/2019 11:39

That's ridiculous and obviously something she's got from you. Most people feel indifferent about the place. The faux disgust people express about McDonalds is so silly considering you can just pop in for a coffee, you don't have to go round the back and lick the floors.

LimeKiwi · 10/05/2019 11:41

Was @MariaNovella being serious?!
Actual lol Grin

LimeKiwi · 10/05/2019 11:42

Oh, and for clarity I meant the breastfeeding bit in regards to McDonald's.
What a load of bollox lol.

TrixieFranklin · 10/05/2019 11:57

How has this really turned to a McDonalds debate!? Grin

Sagradafamiliar · 10/05/2019 12:01

Because there's always one who wants to claim that breastfeeding has led to their child being shocked and horrified at the mere thought of stepping into a McD's. Every time. 😂

@TrixieFranklin it's ridiculous but quite funny as well

UnPocoLoco2 · 10/05/2019 12:02

@Sagradafamiliar 😂😂😂 just the image

UnPocoLoco2 · 10/05/2019 12:06

Oh @MariaNovella just get her mates to shove a salad 🥗 in her mouth to keep her happy whilst they chow down on burgers and chips. Of course she's entitled to not like McDonald's ( I don't like it myself really-The family do though) it's just strange that it 'horrifies' her. I used to be a 'hummus and bread stick ' mum as well but frankly it gets you nowhere.

MariaNovella · 10/05/2019 12:07

Most people I know would never dream of going to McDonald’s, sagrada. Don’t assume the whole world thinks like you and check McDonald’s market penetration statistics for areas well served by McDonald’s: lots of people never go there.

PCohle · 10/05/2019 12:12

Jesus the real world is going to come as a bloody shock if McDonalds is enough to "horrify" her. Your DD sounds very privileged.

UnPocoLoco2 · 10/05/2019 12:13

@NewAccount270219 I feel your pain. I'm the same but with chocolate, not biscuits 🍪

MariaNovella · 10/05/2019 12:17

It’s not «privileged» to prefer eating at home to eating out in fast food restaurants.

Sagradafamiliar · 10/05/2019 12:18

Of course lots of people don't think like me or aren't keen on fast food/certain fast foods but to be absolutely aghast would be a worry for me and something to look into rather than a point to boast about as a matter of pride. I find it very odd and actually quite false. But then again I'm sure I was 'horrified' by certain things when I was a kid. Everyone looks back and cringes 😂

Sagradafamiliar · 10/05/2019 12:20

And miowwww I won't be checking out areas well served by McDonald's. yours is one of them if your DD's school friends often call in.

MariaNovella · 10/05/2019 12:21

It’s not boasting - it’s a statement of fact. You really need to take a closer look at those statistics- they are fascinating. People who don’t eat McDonald’s as children never start doing so.

PCohle · 10/05/2019 12:22

It does come across as a bit privileged to think eating at McDonald's is beneath you...

MariaNovella · 10/05/2019 12:23

Nobody said it was beneath them.

Sagradafamiliar · 10/05/2019 12:25

I'm really not interested in McDonald's statistics.
My DP won't eat in McD's, he's a very picky eater. My children on the other hand are much more adventurous and love healthy food as well as bog standard food, which I'm thankful for. Can't be doing with snooty attitudes around eating, I wouldn't tolerate it. Or like I said, is find it cause for concern.

Sagradafamiliar · 10/05/2019 12:26
