I feel so angry with Tommee Tippee that they've "gifted" her a perfect prep machine. Completely undermines her wish if she wants to breast feed. Plus she's such an influencer how much will this reduce our national breast feeding rates? Pregnant women will go and buy one just because she has one and not give themselves a chance to breastfeed Angry

OP posts:

I do like her but I think she's on thin ice with advertising laws on this one, been waiting for a thread to pop up since I saw her story. Good for her however she chooses to feed her baby but I think there's regulations on advertising formula feeding equipment on IG.

twirlypoo · 05/05/2019 16:13

Eh? You really really gave this more than 2 seconds thought?! You are angry?! You think people will give a toss to the point of changing how they feed their child because a random lady on the internet got a present off a big company?!

Bloody hell you don’t have much else going on in your life do you?!

hsegfiugseskufh · 05/05/2019 16:15

Oh give up. Im sure tommee tippee will have a) asked her if she wanted it before sending it and b) buffed up on formula advertising law.

Its also a little insulting to insinuate women base their feeding choice on the preference of an Instagram "personality".

iklboo · 05/05/2019 16:15

I think you're doing women a massive disservice

DameSylvieKrin · 05/05/2019 16:15

I don’t think OP is being controversial in suggesting that advertising and product placement cause people to buy stuff...

Suzysleep · 05/05/2019 16:16

Surprisingly, people are interested in different things to you sometimes - crazy I know.

pearldeodorant · 05/05/2019 16:16

I know what you mean but she did put up a thing on her insta asking what milk people used if they couldn't breastfeed...there may be a medical reason she can't breastfeed especially after her recent stint in hospital so please don't judge someone if you don't know exactly what's going on. My mum couldn't breastfeed for medical reasons and the abuse she received from her friends even 25 years ago was shameful...

RiddleyW · 05/05/2019 16:16

I’m amazed this doesn’t fall foul of formula advertising rules.

Pppppppp1234 · 05/05/2019 16:18

How do you know she wants to breastfeed?! Who cares how she wants to feed?!!! I’ve seen lots of prep machines in insta stories of celebs.

It’s formula that can’t be advertised for under 6 months... prep machines work beyond that so can be advertised!

Suzysleep · 05/05/2019 16:18

I remember Amy Childs pushing Mam bottles and holding a breastpump in the other hand despite not breastfeeding which suggested to me that there were rules around it. As I said before, fan of Mrs H and up to her how she feeds her baby so not coming from a place of judgement.

DontWannaBeObamasElf · 05/05/2019 16:19

Can’t stand her. Her and this #HinchArmy are destroying the planet and polluting waterways even more than before.

Pppppppp1234 · 05/05/2019 16:20

www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2007/3521/regulation/21/made

The law- she’s fine.

Passthecherrycoke · 05/05/2019 16:21

I don’t think it’s covered by formula advertising laws- it’s not formula?

I don’t think she’s going to influence any one to formula feed really? They’d have to be really fragile to change their mind following some Instagram post

jcq17 · 05/05/2019 16:23

So what! I'm just jealous she's got hers for free.

PamelaX · 05/05/2019 16:23

Her feeding choices are so none of your business. Unlike some people, she has enough brain to be able to decide regardless of the gadgets she got.
That's even assuming that she can EBF for months if she had chosen to do so

Mind your own business

Are people so stupid that they’ll change how they feed their child based on some random woman they’ve never met being gifted a formula making machine?
I wouldn’t give this a second thought.

PetuniaPetunia · 05/05/2019 16:29

Pass lots of women feel "really fragile" after giving birth, especially if they are struggling to breastfeed and aren't getting enough support.

Mrsjayy · 05/05/2019 16:29

Her feeding choices are her own she is a grown assed woman with an instagram account she isn't some monster because she might or not use a bit of sterilising/bottle making equipment save your anger for something that matters ! Imo influencers get to much importance laid on them nobody forces us to follow them

hsegfiugseskufh · 05/05/2019 16:31

Yep and in that situation turning to formula is sometimes the best outcome for mother and baby.

caughtinanet · 05/05/2019 16:32

Some of you are being naive about the influence Mrs Hinch has. She singlehandedly caused total sell outs of several cleaning items simply by using them on her stories, look at a particular vacuum cleaner (I'm deliberately not naming brands), if you think women at similar stages of pregnancies who follow her won't now consider buying the baby thing you are really underestimating how her fans behave.

TurquoiseDress · 05/05/2019 16:33

Who's Mrs Hinch?

I clearly need to get myself in the know

BarrenFieldofFucks · 05/05/2019 16:33

The companies don't do it if it has no effect...it ain't rocket science.

Mrsjayy · 05/05/2019 16:35

Throwing zoflora about like holy water isn't exactly in the same leaugue is feeding a baby now is it ?

maddiemookins16mum · 05/05/2019 16:36

She and her army of obsessive cleaning fans are scary.

It’s so over the top.
