Mrs Hinch....perfect prep :-(

I feel so angry with Tommee Tippee that they've "gifted" her a perfect prep machine. Completely undermines her wish if she wants to breast feed. Plus she's such an influencer how much will this reduce our national breast feeding rates? Pregnant women will go and buy one just because she has one and not give themselves a chance to breastfeed Angry

You would be very surprised what her ‘ hinch army’ get up to, we, the ‘norm’ are not influenced unlike her barmy hinch army who cry because she is home from hospital and buy everything she advertises, I’m pretty certain if she bottled up her farts they would be a best seller!

TrixieFranklin · 05/05/2019 17:11

I thought this too, also her poll on which formula to use.

I also thought when she was asking if Sleepyheads are any good she's bound to get sent one free as a gift now Hmm

MsSquiz · 05/05/2019 17:13

@Skiptheskip maybe because there is always at least 1 thread going on here slating her in some way?

So what if she received a free prep machine? Best of luck to her. If someone offered me a free one, I'd accept it too! Her instagram won't last forever so why not enjoy it while it lasts?!

FormerlyFrikadela01 · 05/05/2019 17:16

People who choose to buy products based on some random that they don't know on IG are idiots.

I see we have many people on this thread, Including the quote above, who believe they are immune to advertising.... seems companies must be wasting their millions then since no one would be idiot enough to buy products recommended by an influencer or something advertised during corrie, or something "recommended" by a first time user on mumsnet... Hmm

C0c01823 · 05/05/2019 17:18

Ridiculous, it doesn’t influence it at all. Women already know what they do or don’t want to do ... you seem to think she should BF rather than let the choice be hers.

yoshismother · 05/05/2019 17:19

Women can make decisions for themselves

jaseyraex · 05/05/2019 17:20

Maybe she already decided to formula feed? Maybe she wants it as a back up? Maybe tomme tipped actually asked her before sending it? You have no idea.

Mrsjayy · 05/05/2019 17:20

So if women see another woman use a formula making machine is that a bad thing? When i had babies you didn't have the internet to ask about this stuff you had your circle your HVP or you wandered blindly round mothercare/boots

Nobody knows her own personal medical circumstances and how she plans to feed her child. It’s her decision, and this thread is a bit bottle feed shamey.

It’s also insulting as hell to suggest that women are too thick to make their own decision around how to feed their child taking into account the many important factors, as if they’re dim enough to be wooed by the shiny machine on the nice lady’s profile. Jesus Christ.

hammeringinmyhead · 05/05/2019 17:21

Er... You can own a Perfect Prep and breastfeed. I do. DS has a bottle for his last feed before bed and if I god forbid leave the house for more than 2 hours. I can afford it and it was such a ballache with a kettle.

Mrsjayy · 05/05/2019 17:22

I would love free stuff but sadly i hate instagram i shallremain freebieless Grin

londonloves · 05/05/2019 17:22

Honestly, mind your own tits. Seriously.

Mrsjayy · 05/05/2019 17:24

When I was making bottles up you could make them up for the day now they need made up as they go so anything to make the babies milk easier is a good thing.

Tinyteatime · 05/05/2019 17:26

It’s legal. It breaks WHO international code of market BM substitutes I think but it’s not against the law in the U.K. Tomee tipee are shits for this though. I ordered a tube of lansinoh (for sore nipples) so clearly a product for a breastfeeding woman struggling with latch and in the packet they’d sent a tomee tipee bottle! I was raging. Talk about trying to undermine a woman’s choices. If id ordered alcohol free beer I wouldn’t expect to be sent a sample of alcoholic or a pair of red shoes and be sent blue.

BarrenFieldofFucks · 05/05/2019 17:28

It's a pretty cynical and shitty move on the part of the company tbh, and makes the whole insta thing even more dodgy in my eyes. It doesn't massively surprise me though sadly.

Fairylea · 05/05/2019 17:28

No one knows why she isn’t breastfeeding or even if she will mix feed. And no one needs to know. It’s a personal decision. No one who formula feeds needs to justify their decision to anyone else.

roundligament · 05/05/2019 17:28

Breast feeding is sooo hard
Maybe she has chosen not to breast feed imagine that
God forbid
Confused

Stop creeping on her if you don't like her

hammeringinmyhead · 05/05/2019 17:28

Just to point out it's not as simple as just getting free stuff. She's managed by Gleam who are responsible for Zoella. All this stuff comes with contracts and "talent" fees.

roundligament · 05/05/2019 17:29

I didn't even know she was sick how did you know that
I don't follow her on Instagram though

FormerlyFrikadela01 · 05/05/2019 17:29

It's not about being insulting to women. It's about understanding that no one is immune to advertising... if advertising had no effect on breastfeeding/formula feeding there would be no laws against advertising infant formula.

Again... no one is immune from advertising, it influences our decisions everyday whether you see it or not.

BarrenFieldofFucks · 05/05/2019 17:29

That isn't the issue here though. The issue is a cynical product placement.

BarrenFieldofFucks · 05/05/2019 17:30

Breast feeding is sooo hard Confused

HBStowe · 05/05/2019 17:31

No woman who wants to breastfeed and is able to do so is going to be persuaded not to by the fact that she owns a perfect prep machine.

And honestly, absolutely nothing puts me off the idea of breastfeeding more than the women who actually do it, and then won’t stop banging on about how brilliant and beneficial and marvellous it is. The smug sanctimony of it is hugely offputting. Give me a woman who just quietly gets on with feeding her baby in whatever way way works for her, whether that’s breast or bottle, any day of the week.

SugarHockeyIcedTea · 05/05/2019 17:31

It's a Perfect Prep...
