Mrs Hinch....perfect prep :-(

I feel so angry with Tommee Tippee that they've "gifted" her a perfect prep machine. Completely undermines her wish if she wants to breast feed. Plus she's such an influencer how much will this reduce our national breast feeding rates? Pregnant women will go and buy one just because she has one and not give themselves a chance to breastfeed Angry

Last year these machines were strongly advised against by midwives as they accumulated mould

Oh more fake news. It wasnt mould it was carbon and it was caused by people using incorrect filters and not cleaning it properly. I had one at the time and it was fine.

caroline161 · 05/05/2019 18:34

I really like her but just so sad about all the blooming bottles I've just seen!

Lolly34h · 05/05/2019 18:34

The way hospitals force BF on new moms is why they quit so quick the pressure is immense I know this from personal experience

Sagradafamiliar · 05/05/2019 18:35

I could not agree more cherrycoke, excellently said.

hsegfiugseskufh · 05/05/2019 18:35

Sad? Get a grip.

Sparklingbrook · 05/05/2019 18:37

Pregnant women will go out and buy one and even if the breast feeding is going well they will feel like they should use it.

I doubt that very much.

Hollowvictory · 05/05/2019 18:38

Agree with you @Lolly34h

Who cares how anybody else feeds their baby? Live and let live! Not everybody can bfeed, not everybody wants to, some people express and mix feed so need bottles.

Sagradafamiliar · 05/05/2019 18:38

If you thought we needed yet another breast v formula bun fight OP, you could've just started one without having to bring an unwell woman into it whose choices or lack of have got nothing to do with you or your agenda.
You're boring, tedious, and spiteful.

Tolleshunt · 05/05/2019 18:39

But why are you sad, caroline?

Why are you invested in another woman's choice?

londonloves · 05/05/2019 18:40

Last few posters who are not OP - you are my tribe, thank you. Fuck this judgemental shit. Honestly this is why i regularly take massive breaks from Mumsnet.

ZippyBungleandGeorge · 05/05/2019 18:40

She's awful, how many chemicals does she use in a day? I bet that's great for her baby. I also wouldn't use a perfect prep if someone gave me one for free.

pantsville · 05/05/2019 18:40

She will be "unable" to breastfeed and "choose" SMA (nestle)

Reading between the lines, she will choose to formula feed, and be sent free SMA as she obviously has a sponsorship deal wth nestle.

I don't personally care what choices she makes to be honest, but I find her faux naivety, thinly veiled advertising and bullshit quite insulting and annoying.

Hollowvictory · 05/05/2019 18:41

She's got our of hospital today no doubt worried sick about her baby. I truly can't believe this is in the spirit of mumsnet.

MsSquiz · 05/05/2019 18:42

@caroline161 you do realise breastfeeding woman can use bottles too, if they choose to express?

You really shouldn't let one woman, actually, a stranger, and her decision whether to breastfeed, formula feed, mix the two or just keep her options open make you sad.

I'd rather see a woman know she has options than feel she must breastfeed

Parker231 · 05/05/2019 18:43

Perfect preps are amazing . I wish they’d been around when my DC’s were babies. Anything to make life easier gets my vote.

Floofboopsnootandbork · 05/05/2019 18:44

She will be "unable" to breastfeed

No need for the quotation marks, she’s already said right at the start of her pregnancy she won’t be able to breastfeed despite wanting to.

I can’t stand the women but there’s absolutely no need to shame another mum for something they can’t do.

hsegfiugseskufh · 05/05/2019 18:44

And what if she simply does not want to breastfeed? Is that ok?

KnitFastDieWarm · 05/05/2019 18:44

Her tits, her baby, her choice.

LimeKiwi · 05/05/2019 18:45

Well said @Sagradafamiliar.

@Hollowvictory - I can, MNetters carry around a special kind of venom just for mums or women in general like Mrs Hinch who dare to be on Instagram. These threads are always the same.

caroline161 · 05/05/2019 18:46

I'm a massive fan of breast milk. It's really powerful and under rated and I truly believe if we could support more women to breast feed we would really help the health of our nation for many years into the future. It would seem I'm in the minority. I'm certainly not spiteful I do my best everyday and ive certainly never been called that. Some people work tirelessly to get our breast feeding rate to 98-99%. The formula companies work tirelessly to reduce that figure to the lowest they can get it.

TurquoiseDress · 05/05/2019 18:46

Mrs hinch shows people how to clean on instagram

Ok thanks, I don't have Instagram but may need to have a look!

hsegfiugseskufh · 05/05/2019 18:47

But caroline some people just dont want to breastfeed or do try it and hate it. What about them? Should we force them into it?

londonloves · 05/05/2019 18:47

You're not supporting women to breastfeed, you are criticising a woman who is going to formula feed. They are inherently different things.

TurquoiseDress · 05/05/2019 18:47

Oh and absolutely yes- Perfect Prep machine is absolutely bloody amazing!

Hollowvictory · 05/05/2019 18:47

@LimeKiwi I agree, yes there a special jealousy reserved for insta successful individuals.

Anyone can try to build a following on insta, it's bloody hard. All those griping ought to give it a try if it's so easy.
