Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, and Line of duty (and also a number of shows on netflix,) have people raving about them, and 10s of millions (even 100s of millions) watching them, and MASSIVE fan bases, because they are REALLY GOOD! Not because people are mindless sheep who copy what others say.
They are popular, and people rave over them, because they are very good. Do people not get that?
As I said on a thread earlier, I have zero interest in Emmerdale, Strictly Come Dancing, Downton Abbey, and Lord of the rings/the Hobbit. I have tried to watch them a few times, and they leave me cold. They bore me.
So guess what? I don't watch 'em. And I certainly don't go on the fan forums, (or ANY forum,) slagging them off and telling everyone how much I hate them, and how I am not interested in them. I have had to tolerate dozens and dozens of tweets about EMMERDALE on my twitter timeline, every time I have been onto twitter this past 2 weeks. I am sick of seeing it and hearing about it. But I don't say anything, because I know some people like it.
If the Game of Thrones love is bothering people THAT much, then deactivate social media, stay off the internet, and don't watch TV. Or just stop moaning about it and slating it on the internet, and telling everyone how you don't watch it!
It's attention-seeking, and a bit pathetic.
