How many coats do you own?

Including leather jackets, denim jackets, mac, winter, summer coats etc.

(Not counting suit jackets tho)

Starting to think I need to thin out, especially since I just saw a moth in one 😮

An everyday warm & waterproof for winter
A smart winter coat for Remembrance Day & outdoor carols

I need one more, a lightweight showerproof for summer that looks less like a raincoat and more like a jacket.

At the moment I have 15, which fill up a double wardrobe as I keep them all on coat hangers, but I have a long wish list-I'd intended 20 by the end of 2020, then a break, but then along came Covid and lockdown, I have another double wardrobe, it's just got tops and jeans and is barely 3/4 full-I'm. Guessing that by the end of 2021 I'll have many more than you..also because I have cats I don't have knitwear as the fur destroys them, so if I'm chilly I put on one of my older jackets as I don't own a cardigan, also when it's Very cold, I wear a close fitting biker under my winter coat, which is a 4 year old curly shearling-I really regret selling another shearling on eBay, but it was Huge, it was a generous M, I'm an XXS, my best biker was made to measure and fits like a glove.

So don't feel bad about your 15, mine is just a starting block!xx

Wow, how do you manage with just 3 or 4?!!!

I need my winter coat, short shearling jacket, best fitting biker, I could Never reduce my collection so low, although once it's complete I'll only replace pieces that wear out totally...but jackets and coats tend to last..

I'm also usually cold, and not being able to go out much this year has meant that I've worn my oldest biker, chewed by one of my cats, has become like a cardigan.

I'd intended 20 then stop, my Wishlist got to 30, now I'll just stop when I think I need the rest of my wardrobe space for clothes, as atm my coats take a full double wardrobe , my clothes only 3/4 double wardrobe !

About 15. But a couple are too scruffy to wear and at least two are too good to wear.

Too scruffy to wear-you never know when you might need, I keep mine until they fall apart
Too good to wear-I'm like that too..I have to have it a certain time before I wear them, although sometimes I live in them from day 1 like my shearling coat!

Dozens. Maybe scores. And they're fur. Because I've eaten the animals that used to be inside them.

9 - some work, some everyday, two 'best' 1 vintage (weighs a tonne)

If you include cloaks as well it goes up to 13 -2 elbow length and 1 scottish widows type velvet one and a vintage wool nursing cloak that was my grans

My friend even has a cardigan coat-I call it a warm long cardigan, she wears it as a winter coat!Although she has a lovely new faux fur one from her hubby!

I have 6 but they are mostly regular coats for cold weather, one is a rain coat and one is quite a big one that I use when I am pregnant. I need more jackets for the Spring/Summer.

Three. One winter parka, quite light, with a hood. One long smart wool winter coat. One ancient ludicrous ski jacket that is also the toastiest coat ever and suitable for dog walking and long walks in the cold. I haven't bought a new coat for about three years.

I have 5 times that and still want more

But getting my 3rd cat in a couple of weeks, and Possibly number 4 in the Spring, plus I want another handbag, I've seen a great blazer I want, a summer jacket for next Summer, a shearling for when mine wears out...etc etc etc I could Not manage on 3!!!!xxx

I think if I never bought a coat again (except winter coat), and just wore out what I had, I wouldn't end up with 4! Someone suggested I sold some but I can't bear to part with them! Now at Xmas I could easily sell some of my designer leathers on eBay but I just Can't, although I could use the money..l

About 30-ish or so. But not more than 40.
Several are the same coat, in different colours.
Some are same coat and colours, but in different sizes.
Almost all bought on sale, of course.

I do also have two hoodies - are we counting those?
