hipslikecinderella · 26/04/2019 19:37

Including leather jackets, denim jackets, mac, winter, summer coats etc.

(Not counting suit jackets tho)

Starting to think I need to thin out, especially since I just saw a moth in one 😮

countdowntonap · 26/04/2019 21:44

^ remembered two more
X1 padded navy
X1 Black hooded

Norugratsatall · 26/04/2019 21:47

One warm winter wool coat
One raincoat
One gillet

Norugratsatall · 26/04/2019 21:47

I clearly need to buy more..... feeling left out.

RollaCola84 · 26/04/2019 21:51

Love this thread ! I've recently moved house and my wonderful DM has been helping me organise things. She is adamant I have far too many clothes (she's probably right tbf). Yesterday I counted 22 coats / outdoor jackets of various kinds and another 12-15 blazers and suit jackets. In my defence I'd worn all bar one of them in the last 12 months and have one coat and two blazers that I've had since I was 18 which is the wrong side of 15 years ago.

OVienna · 26/04/2019 21:52

I don't know.

Warm weather sunny
Warm weather mist
Warm weather pissing down

All three - work and casual versions

Freezing
Freezing mist
Freezing rain

Work and casual options in all categories

Fancy (x1)

Not in one of the categories above but godfammit I loved it. (X ? )

Historic furs (x2)

Blazers

Unburnished · 26/04/2019 21:55

I’ve just counted Shock 20

Black smart coat
Blush smart coat
Grey smart coat
Mac
Beige padded coat
Navy padded jacket
Navy padded gillette x 2
Black biker
Tan biker
suede biker - tan
suede biker - brown
navy blazer
white blazer
peach blazer
tan blazer
khaki blazer
blue blazer
Navy waterproof
Cream coat

OVienna · 26/04/2019 21:55

There's also

Cold but not freezing ( x3 to include mist and missing down)

I am not sure I included Jean jackets

(I don't drive and walk plus tube so I have an excuse.)

SaltSpoon · 26/04/2019 21:57

5

FurrySlipperBoots · 26/04/2019 21:58

1 thick water-resistant one originally bought for horseriding, but I've not had a horse for 10 years and it's still going strong with daily dog walking use

2 identical pacamac type waterproof jackets. Only have 2 because the waterproof trousers I bought with the original pair ripped, so I bought a new pair of trousers but they looked odd with the old jacket so bought a new jacket too

1 smart black coat for funerals/being posh. 2 sizes too small and every stray dog hair clings to it

1 ancient mint-icecream coloured surf brand jacket. Too small and at least 15 years old so don't suppose I'll ever wear it again but I don't like to get rid of it, just in case

That's it, so 5 altogether.

MondeoFan · 26/04/2019 21:58

10 and all fairly decent

SteelRiver · 26/04/2019 22:01

10 or so. I like to have a variety of colours and styles to wear with different outfits.

Unburnished · 26/04/2019 22:05

@OViena tell us about your historic furs.

Laughing at whoever mentioned Irish weather, it’s true, in this climate you need twice as many coats due to the changeable weather.

Treefloof · 26/04/2019 22:14

Too many but not enough?
One Canada goose hoody
One Canada goose trench
Both rarely worn now I am menopausal but too expensive to give away.
6 or so fleeces with and without hoods
One wool coat also not worn currently.
A Letterman from Harvard>>> too big but I dont care.
One denim jacket.
3 anyone can wear big coats with hoods and waterproof and big pockets and lined etc, mostly used for dog walking/fishing kinda stuff.

Think that's all.

hatters · 26/04/2019 22:19

I have 2.
One light trench coat, bought in 2008.
One very heavy, winter maternity coat, bought 4 years ago. It's only coat season for about three months a year!

I keep meaning to replace them with one medium coat, but particularly loathe coat shopping.

Whyknot · 26/04/2019 22:30

I also have a thing for coats, I have about 30.

Coats make an outfit, it needs to compliment what you're wearing.

Tricky to store though and take up so much room. I keep trying to thin them out but so hard to part with them.

PaquitaSalas · 26/04/2019 22:33

Teal wool
Long navy wool
Tweed
Cobalt wool
Grey wool
Brown wool
Navy / cerise wool
3 different colours of Seasalt Mac
joules parka
North face parka
Navy bomber
Khaki bomber
Denim jacket
Black blazer

Have recently thinned them out. Still a ridiculous amount though

Princess1066 · 26/04/2019 22:38

Approx 40 I think Shock

chocolatelog · 26/04/2019 22:41

4

NCforthis2019 · 26/04/2019 22:41

About 30.

NaomifromMilkshake · 26/04/2019 22:49

*The green jacket. £25

*The yellow jacket. £30

*The faux leather jacket. £25

*Two capes £50

One waxed coat £100

*One fit for a funeral coat £150

*One bit of nonsense I bought in the sale in Next last year, think wanna be Deigual.. £20

The waxed coat was the only coat I had until our fortunes slowly increased over the last few years. Much to my mothers chagrin, I wore it everywhere, she constantly sniped at me, turns out we have smashed the mortgage early and are in a good place vis a vis retirement, she on the other hand has wardrobes full of clothes and not a penny in a planning pot.

StatisticallyChallenged · 26/04/2019 22:51

Bloody loads!

Off the top of my head...
Coats
Pink tweed
Green collectif
Burgundy velvet - collectif
Red totty rocks
Wine padded joules
Camel voodoo vixen
Grey diva catwalk
Black diva catwalk
Hobbs trench
Red happy rainy days
Blue floral ted baker
Black Michael kors cape

Jackets I would struggle to list - lots of them! I buy a lot for work to wear with dresses instead of proper suits. Probably at least 20 dotted around.

makkmiss · 26/04/2019 22:56

I have 6, out of which only 1 isn’t used regularly. If we’re counting blazers I also have one of them and about ten million thick open jumpers to throw on top of my clothes in a last minute dash out of the houseGrin

Extra thick winter coat (got it for a holiday to Iceland where it was definitely needed!)

Regular winter coat

Lightweight coat

Leather jacket

Denim jacket

Suede jacket

Honeyroar · 26/04/2019 22:58

Far too many! Probably 20, but half are smelly coats for doing the horses (various weights for different seasons and a couple of spares for days I get soaked through). One is a work uniform coat. Then a few everyday coats of various weights and a couple of going out coats.

I don't even like coats particularly!

AwkwardPaws27 · 26/04/2019 23:14

10, which sounds very excessive written down... In my defense most are over 5 years old.
3 (!) denim jackets (ancient almost white stonewashed Levi from my mum, oversized black one stolen from DH, grey cropped Topshop bargain off the sale rail).
2 big winter coats (one grey waterproof, one mustard parka).
A thin black waterproof mac, recently purchased for rainy days as my commute involves 30 mins of walking and the drowned rat look isn't good on me.
A black wool-effect fitted jacket for work - sadly looking a bit tired on the cuffs now (I've had it about 10 years, Topshop sale rail).
A black faux fur black jacket (a birthday present).
A black faux suede Jane Norman dress coat with fair fur collar (£5 in a charity shop!).
And an oversized leather biker jacket (£10 off eBay).

Hohofortherobbers · 26/04/2019 23:14

A definite 8, but probably 10 if we include macs. I have recently bought a stylish warm long coat which was meant to replace the crap warm jacket and the sensible non stylish warm jacket, but can't seem to part with either of them yet, why? Confused
