For not wanting to holiday abroad?

chocolatelog · 24/04/2019 10:28

Myself and 4 out of 5 of the children haven't been abroad. We don't even have passports.

Dh and the 3 oldest all want to go on holiday this year. Dh has found a holiday for 10 days in Spain and is pressuring me to go but I've got zero interest. My eldest (17) has been with her friends family so she's got the bug and is begging me to go.
A part of me feels like I should go because before long the kids will be older and won't be interested in going with us, but I just can't be bothered with it all. I filled in one passport form and that was enough to make me go 🙈 it took 5 attempts at getting it wrong, so the thought of filling in 5 people's worth is enough to put me into an early grave!

The two youngest are 5 and 2 and I feel like it won't really be an enjoyable experience for me, dh is very hands on with them but I'm a stress head and get into rage pretty quickly 😬

Plus the money for passports and the actual holiday for 7 people makes me think we could use it for better things, we both need a new cat each and I'm thinking I'd rather those than a pissing holiday 🤦🏻‍♀️

I don't know if my attitude to it all is because I've never been abroad, I'm quite happy to spend a week in Cornwall or Dorset or anywhere else that this country has to offer. The thought of flying and watching the kids like a hawk just doesn't appeal to me in the slightest. Is it a case of what you've never had you never miss? Or should I just put my happy face on and agree to going?

OP is clearly miserable, enjoys making everyone else miserable, and proud of it.

Treesthemovie · 25/04/2019 16:20

OP I wouldn't be surprised if your kids choose to have little to do with you as adults, if you speak about them in real life the way you do here.

GreytExpectations · 25/04/2019 17:20

@chocolatelog
diesel.

Now that's even worse. Are you done having a wind up yet? Or are you going to continue to make a fool of yourself?

GreytExpectations · 25/04/2019 17:22

@Treesthemovie

She certainly is one of those miserable people! Funny how as soon as she saw posters on here were not happy about things she was saying she goes and says even worse things. Bet she treats her family like that too- just some puppets she can control and wind up.

JenniferJareau · 25/04/2019 18:23

Not sure why you actually posted. You asked:

Or should I just put my happy face on and agree to going?

You were answered most resoundingly that you should go. Yet you clearly never wanted to go or had any intention of going. Now you have pushed your family into a holiday they don't really want and are drip feeding left right and centre to try and get things to go your way.

InspectorClouseauMNdivision · 25/04/2019 18:34

We all should admit our fault though.
OP got extra ammunition to use to argue at homehere. Every time someone mentioned something it suddenly became an excuse. Anxiety? Yeah. Money? Yeah. Environment? Yeah.
PP unintentionally gave OP all excuses under the sun.🤷‍♀️ I imagine that should someone mention reaction to foreign food, we got IBS or similar too🤷‍♀️

Witchofzog · 25/04/2019 18:36

So you have said you can't afford a holiday because you need a van, car yadda yadda. Yet you say you have now booked a different holiday. Which no doubt you can't afford either. And you want to have a 6th child despite poor mental health and obviously not being able to afford this either. Your selfishness is astounding as is your ability to change your story constantly. You jump on the environmental bandwagon as yet another excuse for not having the holiday your family want yet you are bringing another child into the world. Well that's environmentally friendly isn't it?Hmm

Asvan · 26/04/2019 21:33

I'm sorry to say this OP but you are completely selfish! You can't be bothered to go on a holiday and spend some quality time with the kids that you already have, yet you want to have another child? Why? Then once you have another baby you will use her/him as an excuse not to go. Your older kids must absolutely resent this and I feel so sorry for them. If money is that tight why are you planning to have another baby? It just does not make any sense whatsoever.

Lifeover · 26/04/2019 22:12

No amount of travelling by DH and I with out child will
Have the environmental
Impact of you having 6 kids! Please don’t try and now come over all environmentally friendly. The best you can do on this front is stop having kids.

Asvan · 26/04/2019 23:46

Yes stop having children and listen to the one that you have already got!

BarrenFieldofFucks · 27/04/2019 11:54

God there are some arseholes on here.

Why doesn't the dh take them if he's so bothered?
