Just that really... the last two episodes have been so slow!

I can't see them investing so much into arya and her having mad skills we have barely seen, only for her to die now. It would be proper shit even though I don't like her.

Holidayshopping · 24/04/2019 22:02

I loved it!!

CatToddlerUprising · 24/04/2019 22:30

I wondered if Arya or someone will kill Bran (considering the link between Bran and the Night King) and use his face to finish off the Night King. There could also be a succession of heirs so beginning a new Game of Thrones- Arya and Gendry, Sansa and someone, Jon and Daenerys, Cersei and Euron (passing the baby off as his).

LazyFace · 25/04/2019 19:35

I always thought Danaerys was left barren by the witch. 'When the sun rises on the West etc'

blackteasplease · 25/04/2019 19:54

I think we ve established for show purposes that the witch was talking bollocks. But from a book pov I think it was intended to be more meaningful- so they'd be some way in which "sun rises in the west" has another meaning that comes true. If the books are ever finished.

blackteasplease · 25/04/2019 19:55

I do feel like Danys character is going down a route that's inconsistent with her earlier behaviour in Essos. But it might be to wrong foot us.

JAMMFYesPlease · 29/04/2019 01:09

With the use of Jenny's Song in the last episode, I suspect it's a hint that Dany will follow the story of Duncan Targaryen. He gave up the crown for the person he loved. Dany could give up the crown for Jon. Not that I think the Iron throne will be around though. I suspect Kings Landing will fall and the kingdoms will split.

Confusednewmum1 · 29/04/2019 05:55

First 2 episodes shit really worried, but OMFG episode 3 never ever have I been so glad to have a baby that doesn’t sleep. Honestly thee best piece of tv ever!

CaptainCabinets · 29/04/2019 10:32

I also woke bleary eyed to watch it before work! Wish I’d placed a bet now as I guessed who’d cop it!

PCBananaHammock · 29/04/2019 22:00

Ok so I totally take back my OP now!! What a fucking episode!!! And what now?? There's still two episodes to go!!

OP posts:
YouTheCat · 29/04/2019 22:10

3 episodes to go.

It was utterly amazing.

LaurieMarlow · 29/04/2019 22:29

Ok so it was stunning.

But the Night King gone so soon? Doesn’t that take away the tension somewhat? There are 3 episodes to go. Will we find out what he wanted and why Bran’s so
important to everything?

And it wasn’t as much of a bloodbath as I thought it would be.

VampirateQueen · 29/04/2019 22:32

Not as much of a blood bath, they lost all the dothraki and all the unsullied. There was basically only 10 people left out of hundreds. I was expecting more of the mains to die though.

Dorklingtons · 29/04/2019 22:36

Oh my god my poor nerves. That was excruciatingly tense. But yeah... a bit of a cop out not to kill off more main characters?

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 29/04/2019 22:36

Jesus Christ, that was awesome!

LaurieMarlow · 29/04/2019 22:39

Well that’s what I mean really.

It was exceptionally light on significant deaths. I’d only count Jorah and Theon and they were both obvious sacrifices and not even proper ‘A’ list.

Quite how Brienne, Sam, Jaime, Davos, Arya, The Hound and particularly Greyworm survived that is mind boggling.

For a moment there I thought Drogon was going to go. That would have been a proper twist.

LaurieMarlow · 29/04/2019 22:41

D&D don’t have the same nerves of steel and capacity to shock and awe that George does.

InspectorClouseauMNdivision · 29/04/2019 22:42

Now they will go after Cersei and argue about who should be on the throne.

LaurieMarlow · 29/04/2019 22:45

Now they will go after Cersei and argue about who should be on the throne

Yeah, that feels arse about tit to me.

I thought the whole point of the series was how insignificant the iron throne was in the light of the bigger threat?

InspectorClouseauMNdivision · 29/04/2019 22:48

@LaurieMarlow I must admit I was bit disappointed at how fast they dealt with the King. 7 seasons leading up to it and it was 1 episode. Good one! But 1.
I guess the throne got more important🤷‍♀️

PaddingtonMare · 29/04/2019 22:51

Isn’t Jon technically dead? Just brought back by magic? Wouldn’t that potentially cause issue with claiming the throne or siring heirs?

LaurieMarlow · 29/04/2019 22:54

I guess the throne got more important

If that’s how they play it, it’s going to fuck me off no end.

YouTheCat · 29/04/2019 22:54

There are so many more loose ends to sort out and prophecies to fulfill.

Unburnished · 29/04/2019 22:57

I’m missing the usual clever dialogue amid all the carnage but I did laugh after the battle started when Varis said “well at least we’re already in a crypt.”

Did anyone else think the music was shit and not in keeping with past scores? It sounded a bit ‘Nigel on his Yamaha keyboard’ to me.

On the plus side, I thought the visuals were spectacular and I’m glad they didn't kill off all the main characters.

LaurieMarlow · 29/04/2019 23:02

My fear is that D&D aren’t going to bother.

It’ll just be showdown between the good guys and Cersei/Euron, pair up the survivors, job done.
