Just that really... the last two episodes have been so slow!

OP posts:
Asj0405 · 22/04/2019 22:32

I think it's started a bit slow but building up and will explode next week. I'm also interested in who everyone thinks we will loose over the next few weeks?

I think Cersei will go as well as Daenerys, Sansa, Varys and Davos. I don't think we'll be left with many by the end 😞. I hope Jon gets the throne but that's probably wishful thinking

VampirateQueen · 22/04/2019 22:34

I agree they were slow, but not every episode of a programme can be fat moving, they are building up for the big fight scene and reminding us why we love each of the characters so when they die it will hit us harder, if they just went straight into the battle we wouldn't feel the punch as much.

Alicesweewonders · 22/04/2019 22:35

It reminds me of the build up before the big battle scenes in Lord of the Ring: Two Towers.

KittyWindbag · 22/04/2019 22:35

I thought episode 1 was a bit dull but I could see they were trying to reestablish characters and complicated plot lines after a very long Absence.

I thought episode 2 was much more enjoyable. Some threads were drawn together across the almost decade this has been going on. It was satisfying to see how far some characters have come. Jamie for instance. He’s one of my fave characters, don’t think anyone thought he would be back in s1 when he pushed a kid out of a window.

LaurieMarlow · 22/04/2019 22:35

It might get more interesting, assuming they lose Winterfell to the white walkers, when the survivors have to scatter and live by their wits a bit more.

The table setting for this battle has been a bit excessive.

VampirateQueen · 22/04/2019 22:36

@Asj0405 I just hope Tyrion survives, I will be sad to see any of the other go, but will be heartbroken if he dies, I'm not holding out much hope though 😢

Youseethethingis · 22/04/2019 22:36

YABU. Most of these characters haven’t been together in years. There’s a lot to square away before the zombie apocalypse. I like that they are taking their time, setting us all up for a major emotional meltdown when all our favourites and redeemed heroes die. Don’t think there will be much chatting in the next episode, so wouldn’t fret too much Wink

Asj0405 · 22/04/2019 22:45

@VampirateQueen yes Tyrions one of my faves too I'm hoping he survives 🤞

blighter · 22/04/2019 22:47

I've loved it. Seen it twice today

MakeLemonade · 22/04/2019 22:47

Oh YABU, I’m loving it!

They were roundly slated last season for focusing too much on big fight scenes and losing the small interactions that have always made GoT great, good to see a return to this form, I think it’s much better for it.

user1471546851 · 22/04/2019 22:48

I will be gutted if grey worm dies now!!
I have no idea why but I have such a soft spot for him!
Also do they not have any genitals or isit just testicles missing or just penis missing??
Me an dh can't work it out but are probably being dim!?

MarinaPunta · 22/04/2019 22:50

I think Arya will survive but Gendry, I’m not sure. Arya will be pregnant which means her son will have a claim to the Iron Throne. Perhaps Jon will die and Gendry claim the throne?

JAMMFYesPlease · 22/04/2019 23:34

They've been excellent buildup episodes. This season is going to be one of those that works best as a binge, the way Season 7 was and the was Outlander has been the last two seasons.

The lack of patience in storytelling is why there's so much crap on TV right now. It's all about buildup otherwise. Or there could just be 4 episodes instead of 6 because there's no patience for the story.

Osirus · 22/04/2019 23:36

If you think this is slow you should try watching some episodes of the Walking Dead, it sometimes takes a whole series or more to move the plot forward. Grin

I’m actually enjoying this series more than any of the other so far.

CaptainCabinets · 22/04/2019 23:38

Oh I’m loving this series already!

I’ve already made little bets with myself on who dies Grin

DeadButDelicious · 22/04/2019 23:47

Loving the new season.

I'm going to have a right sulk if Tormund doesn't make it. I love him a bit.

Nanny0gg · 22/04/2019 23:52

As long as Bronn and Tyrion survive I'm happy.

PregnantSea · 22/04/2019 23:55

GOT has been shit for years. It turned into a poorly written soap opera and it's barely watchable now.

ginghambox · 22/04/2019 23:59

Tyrion - dies
Jon -dies
Dani -dies?
Sansa - dies
Bran - dies (thank fuck).

Iamtheworst · 23/04/2019 00:13

I don’t know any plot has moved on though. Sansa and Danny don’t like each other, we knew that. Dany and Jon are enjoying the first throws of passion but we know it’s doomed. Tyrion is struggling with his desire to do the right thing. Jamie is trying to make up for all his bad deeds. Ayra has nothing to do until she can impress everyone fighting. Greyworm and what’s her name want to live happily ever after, shocking for freed slaves. They are respecting Brienne in her own right, in keeping with respecting the leadership of Dany and Sansa. Soldiers are worried about what’s coming.
Sam told Jon the truth but despite being best friends it was one sentence.

I’ll admit I’ve over thought this. But I don’t see what we learned in these 2 episodes and I’m a big fan of long rambling stories.

Puddingmama2017 · 23/04/2019 20:13

Just my thoughts.

My money is on D trying to execute Jon by dragon fire, he survives proving he is a Targaryen. She dies somehow, and despite everyone now knowing his heritage Jon relinquishes the throne because he never wanted it just like the Targaryan maister at the Wall. Gentry becomes King and carries on the Baratheon line. Jon becomes Warden of the North.

Arya takes off to continue as an assassin with Brienne as her knight, Jaime dies so nothing for Brienne to stay around for.

Sansa marries Theon.

Grey Worm dies. Misandei dies by his side.

Bran lives.

Sam lives.

Tyrion dies somehow.

I literally have no clue where Cersei and Euron fit in but they’re both dead.

crispysausagerolls · 23/04/2019 20:16

I thought episode 2 was smashing!

I am not sure wtf is wrong with the writing for Daenerys though. Very poor. The whole “heheh I’m like your sister in law, look what Jon snow has made me do” chat with Sansa was hideous. Might be her acting too though.

crispysausagerolls · 23/04/2019 20:20

Do people think Jamie has a thing for Brienne?

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 23/04/2019 20:34

Yep. Him and Tormund are gonna have to fight it out. If they survive, obvs.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 23/04/2019 20:35

What I would like to see right at the end is Cersei stumbling around decrepit and filthy with bright blue eyes.
