To despise of my husbands cat and wish it wouldn’t come back home

I HATE my husbands cat. He purchased the cat just as we got together 10 years ago, in a house he owned by himself so I didn’t have a say. I hated her from then.

Fast forward we now live in a joint house that I love to bits and I find it DISGUSTING the cat has weed twice in the last week. In the past she’s pissed in my handbag, on our spare bed, on my jeans. I come downstairs for breakfast and smell CAT. PISS. She keeps bringing beheaded mice that bloodstain our rug. It’s vile. I never signed up for this, I didn’t spend all this money on a house to be subjected to this.

We plan on having children, I cannot tolerate this disgust around a child. It’s vile, she always projectile vomits too in the utility room.

I’ve had enough, is it reasonable to want her sent to a cats home or something?

It's hardly surprising you got the responses you did, most people (whether online or in the 'real' world) recognise that pets are a responsibility and you don't just ditch them when you don't want them. Or expect your partner to do so.

You can get defensive or you can take the advice on board, up to you OP.

There have been a lot of ludicrously over the top posts on this thread, I agree.

But the bottom line is that the cat needs to see a vet, and you and your dp need to have a serious conversation about what happens next.

There's nothing natural about cats. They are just another way humans use to destroy the natural environment.

It does sound like it needs to go to the vet, it's not normal to be weeing and vomiting all over the house. Doesn't sound like the cat likes you much either OP

Well, if people insist on anthropomorphising animals to the extent that they are saying this cat hates the OP so consistently pees on her stuff, then it seems a little unfair to say she can’t hate the cat back! You can’t have it both ways......

Take the cat to the vet op... you say you've never harmed any animal?
So letting a poor cat urinate and vomit (potential underlying problem) and doing noting about it isn't causing this cat to potentially suffer!

I must say, when I moved in with OP his cats were very offended by my presence and went a bit loopy, and I didn't have a wardrobe erected yet so had all my dresses lying flat on the floor, and when one of them made a nest out of them and shat in the middle of it I did interpret it as a very personal fuck you

And all because I started taking a squirt bottle to the dining table to squirt them in the face when they tried to steal food off my plate. I ask you.
