To ask if your second baby was as big as your first

So I've heard a lot of people saying that the second baby is usually bigger than the first, what has your experience of this been? My first was 9lb 6oz so afraid this one will be bigger
And did your pregnancies last the same length of time? Ds was born at 38 weeks so hoping number 2 will arrive around the same time and doesn't go on to 40 + weeks.

First was 8lb 3oz, my second (who was born at 36 weeks) was 8lb 7oz!

#1 boy 41 weeks 6lb 5oz
#2 girl 40 weeks 6lb 7oz
#3 boy 40 weeks 6lb 12.5 oz
#4 girl 39 weeks 8lb 2oz (I made the midwife weigh her 3 times I was so shocked)

My second was 5 cm taller and weighted 300g more

I have to have some diabetes test this pregnancy due to the size of them. I definitely have never had diabetes with my previous too. I always look like I’m about to keel over too as I’m a size 6, with these ginormous bumps

DS 7,5 at 40+7
DD 7,11 at 40+ 2 (we think, fell pregnant and had her less than a year after DS so no one could tell dates- I carried small but they guessed that she was probably very late at birth 😂)

Although DD was heavier at birth her measurements were smaller than DS so she was "dinkier".

2 x boys both 36 weeks

1. 6lb 1
2. 5lb 15

Dinky dolls now 6’1 & 6’3 which pisses the older one off no end 😂

DC2 was less than half the size of DC1. 7lb10oz and 3lb6oz. But DC2 was 8 weeks earlier than DC2. I don't recommend that... DC3 was a more reasonable 6lb6oz.

My first was totally unexpectedly and inexplicably (no gd or other issues) 11lbs 9oz. I'm small. Didn't even look that big pregnant. Emergency section in the end. A girl. 2nd (my boy) was a planned section because obviously I somehow grow massive babies. 2 weeks early was 10lbs 8oz. Don't dare have a third . Both marvellous. Tall and skinny now!

My first (dd) was 7lb14oz @41weeks.
Second (ds) was @ 38+6 - I reckon he’d have been about the same had he stayed in longer :)

First 7lb 8oz, second 12lbs, heavier one much much easier birth and recovery!!

My first, third and fourth were all same weight 8lb 5oz.

My second was lightest by far at 7lb 1oz.

DC1 = 6lb 12oz (38+1)
DC2 = 6lb 9oz (36+0)

Bigger, 9lb 14oz and 11 days late. First was 10 days late and 8lb 12oz

Exactly the same down to the 0.01kg!

DC1 was born at 42w though, DC2 at 39w.

So - in theory - i probably prove your theory isn’t baseless.

DD1 did cook for 11 days longer though.

4 dc born between 38 and 40 weeks

1 - 7lb 9
2 - 8lb 1
3 - 8lb 6
4 - 8lb 9

Currently expecting dc5 and had never even considered i might have a smaller baby!

My second was bigger and came earlier than first

DD1 - 7lb 9oz at 42 weeks
DD2 - 9lb 3oz at 40+2 weeks.

4lbs 4oz (girl 8wks early)
6lbs 6oz (boy 9 days early)

Daughter was 8 4 and a few days late, son was 9 11 and 2 weeks late! My biggest fear for the third was that babies came quicker from onset of labour, 2nd was about half hour from waters breaking at home. 3rd was about 5 hours, perfect labour, and 7 lb something ... I’m crap at remembering detail, but all I can say is each labour was different and no pattern. And for the record all done without pain relief... stay strong, your body is designed to do this, breath deep with each pain, they only last a minute.. have some songs on replay ‘I am titanium’ .... that was one of mine because yes you are! You are bullet proof and strong enough to do this! Giving birth is magical if you can allow it to be! (Side note for those that have to have c sections and complications... I don’t take away the upset of those births.. just saying my experience of 3 natural births and appreciate I was lucky) x

First baby (boy) 9 lb 11oz - 40 hr labour, traumatic forceps delivery and spell in NICU
Second (girl) 7lb 12 - 6 hour labour, slipped out with a contraction and didn’t even need to push 😁

Smaller, 1st was 11lbs 10ozs second was 8lbs 10 ozs both boys
