To ask if your second baby was as big as your first

So I've heard a lot of people saying that the second baby is usually bigger than the first, what has your experience of this been? My first was 9lb 6oz so afraid this one will be bigger
And did your pregnancies last the same length of time? Ds was born at 38 weeks so hoping number 2 will arrive around the same time and doesn't go on to 40 + weeks.

First was 9lb 7 second was 10lb 13. Midwife told me my third would be even bigger so I decided two was enough

First: 39 weeks 5lbs15oz

Second: 31 weeks 3lbs1oz (I think he probably would have been bigger than my first if he made it to full term)

First baby was 8lb8oz, but 2 weeks late. Second baby was 8lb but on time so probably would even out about the same

Both 3 days late

Second was a lot bigger

Both were precisely 8lb. Both born 40+0.

Both mine were early at 37wks, DS1 was 7lb and DS2 was 6.5lb - so a good weight for their gestation but smaller for no.2 which is interesting as I had GD with no.2

DS 9lb 7oz - 41+6 wks
DD1 8lb 7oz - 39 + 2 wks
DD2 91b 14oz - 39 wks

My first Ds was born 40+6 and weighed 7lb 15 and a half oz
Ds2 was born 41 exactly and weighed 7lb 11 and a half oz
Ds3 was 41+5 and weighed 8lb 13 and a half oz
Ds4 was induced at 37+1 and weighed 9lb 2oz
DD was induced at 38 exactly and weighed 7lb 1oz

DS1 born 40+13, DS2 born bang on 40 weeks - one of them was 7lb 1 and the other 7lb 1.5oz but no idea which was which as hospital lost all my notes and red books don't have them in! Ds2 had a MASSIVE head though and broke me much more than ds1!

Thanks for all the replies so as I guessed it could go either way I have a growth scan next week but I've seen they're not always accurate. So all I can do is try and stay positive and be prepared and hopefully the labour will go better than last time

Baby 1 was 4 days early and 9lb6 girl
Baby 2 was 11 days early and 8lb12 boy.
If he'd been a baked a bit longer I suspect they would have been the same weight

2oz heavier (and 2 weeks later)
the third was in the middle and over 2lb heavier

2nd was 2.5lb smaller but I suspect I had undiagnosed gestational diabetes with my first.

my second (DS) was 2oz heavier than my first (DD) Dd has always been a lot taller than average whereas DS started school just before he turned 5 still wearing age 2-3 clothes! he's finally just about caught up and now wears 8-9 at 9.5 even though he was bigger when he was born.

1st 35+5, 4lbs 13
2nd 40+4 8lbs 2

Smaller but 2 weeks ish earlier - DS1 10 days late, DS2 6 days early (ELCS). 8lb10 vs 7lb13

1st - 8lbs 15
2nd - 8lbs 7
3rd - 9lbs 15
4th - 9lbs 7

Not sure there are any rules. Surely it depends how early/late they are? My second was the latest at one week early. (!)

Yep ds1 was 5lb 6 at 42 weeks, Ds2 was 6lb4 at 38 weeks. I obviously dont make big badges (dispite Dh being a 10lb baby and me around 9lb)

First was 9lb 7oz my second 8lb 2oz and my 3rd 10lbs

Smaller and both boys but the 2nd was born 22 days earlier, so had less cooking time!

2nd was my biggest, 3rd my smallest. 2nd was also latest and 3rd earliest so makes sense really, there were only days and a few ounces difference!

Mine was 2 weeks later, a boy rather than a girl and still smaller! Neither were huge though - dd at 40+1 7lb 14, ds 40+12 7lb 7 (& I had been told at a growth scan to expect him to be 10lbs+. He just had really long legs but was very scrawny!)
