To ask if your second baby was as big as your first

So I've heard a lot of people saying that the second baby is usually bigger than the first, what has your experience of this been? My first was 9lb 6oz so afraid this one will be bigger
And did your pregnancies last the same length of time? Ds was born at 38 weeks so hoping number 2 will arrive around the same time and doesn't go on to 40 + weeks.

Ds2 was half an ounce bigger but he was born 12 days later!

My first was 9lb 8oz, second 8lb 12oz, both at 42 wks. Third was 8lb 8.5oz at 38+6.

Bigger in my case.

DS1 was 9lb 6oz and born at 42 weeks via EMCS.
DS2 was 11lb 2oz(!!!) and born at 37 weeks, he was supposed to be an ELCS but it turned in to an emergency one. God knows how big he'd have been if he'd stayed in!

1st 8lb 5oz
2nd 8lb 6oz

First 9'6, bang on 40 weeks
Second 5'1, 37.5 weeks.

GD with the first one probably explained much of it, and the different in dates the rest.

First DS 8 2. Second DD 7 2
Third DS 9 2. Fourth DS 9 6
All the boys were about five days late daughter day early.

1st baby; DS - 8lb3 - born at 39 weeks
2nd baby; DD - 6lb 6 - induced at 38 weeks due to her being ‘small’. I think she would have been born that week anyway though as I was already 2cm dilated when I went in.

My second was 4lb smaller than dc1.

DS was my first and he was 7lb 7.5oz. DD was born 5 years later and weighed 7lb 1oz. They were both born at 40 +1.

#2 was 2.5oz heavier but 7cm shorter than #1 so I'm not sure if she classed as "bigger"?!

14 months apart. Both were exactly two weeks late (both induced). And they both weighed exactly the same and were exactly the same length!

Four boys:

1st - 6lb 11oz, 5 days 'early'
2nd - 8lb 4oz, 6 days 'late'
3rd - 8lb 12oz, 1 day 'early'
4th - 7lb 9oz, 1 day 'late'.

All came very close to due date so had cooked for very similar times but came at different weights. 2nd and 3rd both got bigger, but 4th came in as second lightest. (No 3 had a massive head though, so maybe that was where all his weight was.)

I think it is just hit and miss if second babies are bigger or smaller. Some people have similar sizes, some have larger firsts and smaller seconds, some have smaller firsts and larger seconds. I'm sure there will be some official figures I can look up to satisfy my new found curiosity about it though.

Yes my second was bigger, only 7oz bigger though

Ds1 7lb 9oz (5 days late)
Ds2 7lb 15oz (5 days late)
Ds3 8lb 1oz (9 days late)

Ds1 15 days early 7lb 12.5

Dd 8 days early 8lb 3

Ds2 8 days early 9lb 2

I think for the last two...deffo low 8s and low 9s

Exactly the same size at exactly same gestation, different genders, but first was spontaneous labour and second was induced x

My second was smaller and two weeks earlier

DS1 40+6 8lbs 13
DS2 38+2 7lbs exactly

First was 7lb 6oz, second was 8lb 9oz

Oh and should say first was 39 + 2 days, second was 40 + 5 days

Mine were exactly the same weight, although my first was a week early and my second was two weeks late (so would've been smaller had he not kept us waiting).

DS2 9lb 3oz (born nearly two weeks early)

Bigger, bigger then bigger again!

Baby 1: Eight pounds (two weeks over)
Baby 2: Seven pounds, four ounces (induced early)
Baby 3: Eight pounds, one ounce (two weeks over)
