To ask if your second baby was as big as your first

So I've heard a lot of people saying that the second baby is usually bigger than the first, what has your experience of this been? My first was 9lb 6oz so afraid this one will be bigger
And did your pregnancies last the same length of time? Ds was born at 38 weeks so hoping number 2 will arrive around the same time and doesn't go on to 40 + weeks.

6lb 10 at 38 weeks
10lb 10 at 42 weeks and
8lb something (I can't remember) at 37ish weeks

My nan was on the front of a national paper 60+ years ago after having my 12lb something aunt at home crosses legs

My first baby was my biggest at 9 pounds. 2nd was 7 pounds 6, 3rd was 7 pounds 12.
They were all born within 8 days of term, so not sure why the first one was so much bigger.

Dd 7lb 5ozs 8 days late
Dd 8lb 0ozs on due date
Dd 9lb 6ozs 8 days early

First baby: 8lbs 6 oz at 39 weeks
Second baby: 10lbs 7oz at 39 weeks

Both inductions

Mine got bigger each time.
Eldest was 8lb 1 a week overdue
Middle was 9lb the day before his due date
Youngest was 9lb 11 a week over

First was 9lbs 6, second was 8lbs. Out in 5 pushes. How I love her

(she was really late though and refused to comply with my home birth plans)

DS1 was 7lb 7oz, DS2 9lb 2oz and DS3 8lb 14oz. DS1 was born at 37+something, the other two were over 41 weeks.

Ds 40+1 8lb 2oz Dd 40+2 8lb 2oz both labours started at same time (within an hour) and Dd was 29hrs and Ds was 32. I couldn't believe they were the same weight, made the midwife check several times, they looked so different!

Both 38+6

First - Girl - 7lb 1oz
Second - Boy 8lb 2oz

DS1 39+5 8lb10
DS2 40wks 8lb 6. Shorter and chunkier. I had to buy some nb babygrows to get him through the first fortnight as DS1 was too long and went straight to 0-3. However DS2 grew rapidly and has always been bigger for his age since.

First was a week early and 8lbs 2, second was 10 days early and 8 lbs 3

My DD2 was just 2oz heavier. A lot faster labour though, 3 hours rather than 8!

She was 1lb heavier than DD1.

DD1 was born at 38+2 and DD2 was 40+6.

Second was biggest, 40 + 4 , 7lb 5 oz
First was 39 + 3, 6lb 14 oz

My first was an unnecessary induction (failed) so I think if I had been left to having him naturally they probably would have probably been nearer the same size or him a bit bigger.

DS was born at 40+8 and was 9lb exactly. DD1 was 12 days late and was slightly smaller in term of weight (8lb 15oz) but quite a bit longer. DD2 was 4 days late and she was my biggest at 9lb 12oz. Despite being by far the biggest, she was the easiest birth...quickest and no ‘injuries’! Bigger babies don’t mean more painful.

They were monitoring my second pregnancy as they considered my first small, so I had growth scans etc....which is hilarious really and shows that they appear to not be able to predict accurately. DD2 was supposed to be 7lb!!

First was 8lbs 3oz at 41+3
Second was 6lbs 3oz at 37+2

Both were predicted to be enormous!

Second was nearly 2lb more and nearly 3 weeks earlier!!

Second was born almost 2lb heavier (both girls) - first born at 38+3 and second 39+4
