Because they completely ignore the proven illegalities around the Leave campaign that would have made void the result had the referendum been binding.

That in sending this leaflet to every home saying why we should stay within the EU, and saying it would be binding, the govenment got to put their view to every household in the UK.
Leave could not have done this as the cost were outside of the allowable budget...
So this gave the remain cause a leg up before the vote. .

i think her point is that the poor leave campaign had no other option rather than to harvest data, break campaign financing rules and tell blatant lies about the affect of leaving on the economy - and anyway, brexiteers dont mind what happened, so its cool.

Hargreaves donates £3.2 million.
Hosting donated £1.7 million.
Lord Edmiston donated £1 million.
Oder donated £0.87 million.
Bamford donated £0.67 million.

It was a Government publication setting out the government's position
so it was legal

it comes under the same rules as Government publications telling us to eat less and move more
