OMG...Im hoping someone can help me, this is so embarassing, I feel like i have a tennis ball stuck up my bum, i cant go to the toilet and it hurts, I have been sitting on the toilet for over an hour and it feels like its coming, but...Nothing. Im sore, i feel sick and shaking. I have never felt anything like this before, somebody please tell me what to do. How can I "unblock". Ive tried walking around, drinking water, I dont know what else to do.

PS i know this sounds like a joke, but, I promise its not.

This is a potentially very dangerous situation. I think the OP should contact their GP ASAP. One of my mates had this happen many years ago and he was in agony. I think the GP gave him something similar to Moviprep which is usually prescibed before a colonoscopy.

Cantgiveashitliterally · 25/03/2019 16:20

I cant bear the thought of putting anything up there, Although, if had to i suppose i could try the shower. Hopefully, Itll move along soon

Teaspoon of castor oil. Sip some lemon juice with it to get over the gag producing effect!

youarenotkiddingme · 25/03/2019 16:23

Fibrogel. You need something that holds liquid in the bowel.

lostfrequencies · 25/03/2019 16:25

A cigarette and a strong coffee.

Troels · 25/03/2019 16:30

Hot drink, (coffee and a cigarette used to work for me too @lostfrequencies LOL) glycerine suppository with a bit of vaseline and squat.

LittlePaintBox · 25/03/2019 16:30

Ouch! I've had exactly the same thing when low-carbing - I feel your pain. (And I never exclude carbs from my diet nowadays!)

I agree with giving the poo a helping and to leave - it all gets a lot easier once the first bit is out.

Also do consult pharmacy or GP - they can advise on laxatives which can be dramatically helpful in the right dose, but you do need professional advice on that.

TheQueef · 25/03/2019 16:32

Don't put the shower up your bum, that's silly when Amazon will deliver a home enema kit by tomorrow.

Laiste · 25/03/2019 16:35

I don't drink anywhere near enough water and get constipated once o a month or so. The feet on a stool thing really works. Within apx minute. i've sat and counted

Strong coffee works too (drink it!) but takes an hour or so.

Pressing the perenium (with tissue in hand) to the left or right, which ever way you can feel the bulge, to center the culprit helps immediately. I've had to do this ever since having DCs.

Home77 · 25/03/2019 16:35

Please take care OP. I had this and was a benign bowel tumour and needed surgery- rare but occasionally happens. It caused a twisting in the bowel. It might need the GP to to a rectal exam and possibly a sigmoidoscopy. Please get seem urgently.

Weetink · 25/03/2019 16:36

Warm apple juice....I used to suffer horrifically and this was the only thing worked for me. Continued to have a cup of warm apple juice every day and it got me going regularly

CoffeeRunner · 25/03/2019 16:37

Dulcolax. I had this problem a few times either when dieting or on a high dose of painkillers.

Other laxatives didn’t really work for me but Dulcolax has a very good result, pretty quickly. It’s available off the shelf in most supermarkets.

If that doesn’t work you should seek medical help.

Cantgiveashitliterally · 25/03/2019 16:40

Ive already took a senakot, so obvs dont want to take another laxative. Would it be overkill to do the prune juice, caster oil and strong coffee?

TheBreastmilksOnMe · 25/03/2019 16:42

I know this sounds gross but whilst you are straining, try inserting a finger up there as you might be able to break bits off or ease it out.

Trim your nails beforehand though!

Adelais · 25/03/2019 16:44

I haven’t read the comments but it sounds like fecal impaction. I had it twice in late pregnancy. What you need is Movicol which you can buy over the counter and then you take around 6 satchets I think as an initial dose and that should do the job! Can you get to a pharmacy?

Minxmumma · 25/03/2019 16:44

Try drinking lemon juice in warm water. It triggers the muscle movements to help things along.

Or some glycerine supositories

Porridgeprincess · 25/03/2019 16:44

The problem is not to get your bowel to move, this has already happened so the prunes etc are all irrelevant at this stage now. The poo is basically down but too big to get out

The senakot may give you the runs, but it cannot soften the poo that is stuck there now hence all the advice about squatting and extracting.,

It is really sore when this happens and obv a lot of people have had to manually help release it. It really just just need to be the first bit that you get out, the rest will follow then.

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 25/03/2019 16:46

Good luck op! I've had to use lactulose.. horrible stuff but does the job

Shookethtothecore · 25/03/2019 16:46

Sit with your ankles higher than your knees. Like sit on the toilet and have your legs up on a stool in front of you. I had this once before it was horrific, this worked a treat after a warm bath

TooManyBiscuitsNotEnoughTea · 25/03/2019 16:48

The replies on this thread have given me minge cringe.

Fingers in vagina and push back?!

TheQueef · 25/03/2019 16:48

Don't take more laxative. You will be sorry.

SudoWouldnt · 25/03/2019 16:48

Whilst you're sitting, try rubbing ypur thumbs and forefingers together in a circular motion.

My gran taught me that when I was little and was always horribly blocked up and in pain and it helped.

BlackPrism · 25/03/2019 16:50

If someone can buy you some prune juice you'll be home and free (try a half pint and wait for a bit then another if you don't go)

labazsisgoingmad · 25/03/2019 16:50

a while ago due to tablets i was on i ended up going to a and e for help i was admitted over night and had to have an enema not pleasant i admit more embarrassing as i had to pooh on a commode in the ward while folk were sleeping and it was quite a evacuation! now i keep on top of things so to speak with veg fruit and if i get a bit stuck i use fibregel which is a good all round medicine dont berate me for going to a and e btw it was on a drs order
