I have started watching Turn Up Charlie. I think he would be great as Bond. Bit of a departure what with the East End accent and looking (struggling to say what I mean accurately here) . A bit rough around the edges looking rather than polished if you see what I mean. And yes. He is a non minger crush of mine😀! Or a woman. Suggestions?

I know he has grey eyes in the book and black hair. Scottish father Swiss mother so unlikely to be anything other than white.

I really enjoyed Spectre. Agree that MeToo means they need to tone down the creepy womanising and pointless, prop female characters, who always get killed off.

I think the Piers Brosnan ones were a little creepy and too silly for me. When Bourne came along it made Bond look so dated.

I'd like to put in a vote for Chiwetel Ejiofor. I think Idris is too "east end".

I do think it's tricky to introduce a black Bond given there is an established back story that wouldn't quite fit. It's not completely undoable though. I dont think they would ever do it mind you.

Not sure Andrew Scott (Moriarty) gorgeous though he is, would be right for the part of a British agent. He is Irish! No disrespect intended, being Irish is a free pass to anything in my book, but a British agent should be at least British.

@Frangipane Some actors can actually lose their accents you know, for roles. David Tennant, aforementioned Chris Hemsworth for two. Dunno if Scott can.

Idris would have made a great Bond too but maybe a few years ago and perhaps even instead of DC.

Do the books just say Bond’s mum is Swiss, not mention her ethnicity? She could be anything then :) Does DC look like Hoagy Carmichael? No (thank god), so don’t think the producers should feel constrained on ethnicity either

If you mean Spectre Fazackerley, I actually think she was the right age, but DC is getting on a bit to be playing Bond. If they’d dated when he made Casino Royale, they wouldn’t have had much of an age gap, as she must be early thirties, as she was a fully fledged doctor and he was thirties too.
