Who should be the new James Bond.

I have started watching Turn Up Charlie. I think he would be great as Bond. Bit of a departure what with the East End accent and looking (struggling to say what I mean accurately here) . A bit rough around the edges looking rather than polished if you see what I mean. And yes. He is a non minger crush of mine😀! Or a woman. Suggestions?

Daniel Craig just needs to be Bond forever..he's the absolute best..but if he has to retire it has to be Tom Hardy. I love Idris, but he's not hard enough..not a genuine malevolent edge.

Emerging but not super well known - Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out, Black Panther, Siccario)

Daniel Kaluuya was nominated for Best Actor Oscar for Get Out and was in Black Panther one of the most successful films ever...how is he not well known?!

I think Bond needs to be British or Irish, handsome but not pretty, needs to be able to look physically imposing and should be late 30s-early 40s at a push. He should be able to bring an edge to the role...Oh and be able to actually act!

The only actor I can think of who fits that category is Tom Hardy. Ok he's short but has a good build and can be made to look bigger. He's also mesmerising on screen.

Charle Hunman and Richard Madden are too beautiful and also are pretty terrible actors.

Cillian is an incredible actor and Tommy Shelby has a lot of Bond type qualities but he's skinny as a rake, had to give up being a vegan for Peaky Blinders and I suspect would be too old by the time filming starts.

Idris is definitely too old.

Just realised Tom Hardy is 43, actually a year older than Cillian Murphy! He's got a younger face, possibly because Cillian is so skinny. That's not a criticism btw, Tommy Shelby is my ultimate (swoons)

Twatty you and I are on pretty much the same page but I don't think it will be an already A list start who will be cast. Probably someone who's been good on TV here and done the odd film.

But not an A lister and not someone who's associated with a big franchise.

Yes Sacha Dhawan was v threatening in Line of Duty. Not known worldwide and not too thesp.

I would LOVE Idris for Bond.

I never fancied Daniel as Bond til he was first cast. I had moments of anxiety between films when he was looking tired but my GOD he was wonderful in the films!
