I can feel the mood among Remainers, both IRL and online changing.

@Weetabixandshreddies , why do you give a shit if workers in another country go on strike? Whether it's Brexit related or not why do you care?

TonightJosephine · 14/03/2019 14:41

Oh yeah, planning. Shame the leavers didn't do any before dumping us all into this mess, eh?

Tune in for the next episode where they will be wailing that the "remain" government didn't deliver the unicorn they voted for.

RubyRedBerry · 14/03/2019 14:41

If you look at the comments on the daily mail, thousands want no deal.....:D :D

TonightJosephine · 14/03/2019 14:42

That's because reading the Daily Mail rots your brain.

bellinisurge · 14/03/2019 14:43

@Eliza9917 , but apparently we are supposed to dance around the DUP in case they get angry and unleash the UVF.
That's why we have the GFA. How old are you?

ContinuityError · 14/03/2019 14:45

Weetabixandshreddies yeah, of course the French work to rule nothing to do with Brexit. It’s not like Brexit will require a shed load of extra work or anything Hmm

I don't care. More power to their elbow. Just don't blame an issue that really has very little to do with why they are striking.

Weetabixandshreddies yeah, of course the French work to rule nothing to do with Brexit. It’s not like Brexit will require a shed load of extra work or anything hmm

It may or it may not. That's for them to negotiate. Point is that report details the dispute about their working conditions that they are unhappy about. They are nothing to do with Brexit and would have existed regardless. Are they honestly saying that had Brexit not been on the cards they were prepared to put up with the other things listed in that article you quoted?

TonightJosephine · 14/03/2019 14:56

Based on the fact that they haven't seen fit to do this in the last 25 years since Eurostar has been operational, yes.

bellinisurge · 14/03/2019 14:57

Then @Eliza9917 , you are just about old enough to remember life in NI before GFA. Why would anyone want to mess things up there? Unless, like the DUP , they never supported GFA in the first place.

jasjas1973 · 14/03/2019 15:01

That will be nobody's fault but the terrorists that carry out those actions

Say that to the grieving relatives of their victims.... or to my uncle and aunt whose son was killed over there whilst on active duty? no i didn't think so

Zero understanding of the complex issues that is NI - are you Karen Bradley?

S1naidSucks · 14/03/2019 15:03

That will be nobody's fault but the terrorists that carry out those actions.

Well at least you’re honest that you don’t give a shit if people die so you can get your unicorn.

ContinuityError · 14/03/2019 15:05

It’s obvious that the UK leaving the CU and SM is going to generate additional work. You do realise that right? It’s not “for them to negotiate”.

All the press reports demonstrate that the work to rule is linked to Brexit.

And of course it’s just a coincidence that the work to rule is three weeks before the UK leaves the EU.

bellinisurge · 14/03/2019 15:07

@RubyRedBerry - an FB mum "friend " of mine whose Brexit bullshit posts I have ignored, has come out as a no Dealer. As are most of the Leave voters in my area on the local FB community page.
Trying very hard not to rise to her latest shit and block her. Ignore is the best I can do.

Weetabixandshreddies · 14/03/2019 15:11

It’s not “for them to negotiate”.

It is for them to negotiate hours, pay, conditions. More work maybe will need more workers etc. Same as in any line of work. You do understand that, right?

Why would I remember life in NI? I've never been there. And regardless of whatever any government do or don't do, the responsibility for murder is on those that commit it. They can't go around killing people and have it justified because of things they don't like. They want to grow the fuck up tbh.

bellinisurge · 14/03/2019 15:22

@Eliza9917 , did you not watch TV as a teenager. Have you never heard of the Warrington bomb. Or the other Manchester bombs.

bellinisurge · 14/03/2019 15:24

Trying to shut down discussion of our GFA responsibilities with that kind of childish nonsense is exactly what Farage did time and again. Which is why Leave voters claim it was never discussed. Tough shit. Not letting that happen this time.

Eliza9917 · 14/03/2019 15:26

I've heard of some bombs but no, NI wasn't on my radar as a teenager, other than in a there were no bins or post boxes etc in Central London type of way or to be aware of packages. The threat of central london bombs didn't affect what we did. I don't remember any bomb scares as a teenager. There were a few when I was a child but again, not particularly on my radar as I was, you know, a child.

bellinisurge · 14/03/2019 15:29

Then you didn't pay attention and can't remember why GFA was so important. So you have no right to say it should be ignored.

Eliza9917 · 14/03/2019 15:34

I'm not saying it should be ignored. I'm saying that those that choose to kill people because they don't get what they want are the only ones to blame if they go on murderous rampages.

Just because shit happens that they don't like doesn't give them to right to go about killing people.

They should sit down like adults and discuss solutions.

bellinisurge · 14/03/2019 15:35

They did . And that's why we have GFA.

bellinisurge · 14/03/2019 15:38

And why don't you google UVF or, if you can be arsed, find out about Bloody Sunday which will be in the news today. Or Warrenpoint. Or Omagh. Or Airey Neave. Or the Brighton Bomb.
It's complicated. GFA kinda fixed it. Fucking with that is an act of idiocy.

Weetabixandshreddies · 14/03/2019 15:58

They did . And that's why we have GFA.

Indeed. A number of terrorists were released as part of the talks. GFA still in place.

So who sent the letter bombs to the universities just recently?

bellinisurge · 14/03/2019 16:04

A bunch of twats. Ask the DUP who they have been seen with recently. A different bunch of twats -UVF.
Only an ignorant fool thinks it's a one sided thing.
