Seeing as this worry comes up so many times on MN and in wider life, I feel obliged to post this and remind everyone that MMR has not link to autism whatsoever, as yet another HUGE study has found.

Thanks.

But try taking them Etwits, every night for a few years...see how you go

Oh I was partial to a good whiff of poppers in my younger days, on the dance floor, right before the beat drops... euphoria in a bottle

I used to go out clubbing 4-5 nights a week when I was a student because I worked in a nightclub to supplement my student loan, used to.do the 7pm to midnight shift then stay on as a customer until 2am (5am on Saturdays!) because we were only allowed to take our tips in drinks not cash. Everyone did poppers, some nights the whole club reeked of it, and this was a very straight club back in the late 90s where they could kick you out for being a bit too openly gay on the grounds that it would "cause trouble". I managed to survive, immune system intact, as did my friends.

Disclaimer: drugs are bad, stay in school, don't sniff substances up your nose no matter how good they make you feel.

KissingInTheRain · 15/03/2019 23:52

Cath, would you mind telling me whether you regard homeopathy as being effective against any ailment (other than as a placebo)?

Lweji · 15/03/2019 23:52

That is simply because you don’t know enough about it so are just guessing.

I second this.

Cathmidston · 15/03/2019 23:52

But you’re willing to assert that anything suppresses the immune system. If someone with AIDS had lived a life free of drugs, poor diet etc etc, you’d say that their drinking tea suppressed their immune system, or fluoride in the water supply.
Er no... I didn’t say any such thing. There are various recognised causes of immune suppression... I listed a few of them

But keep up with the moronic assertions ...they’re quite amusing

Cathmidston · 15/03/2019 23:54

I’ve never used homeopathy so I couldn’t personally comment on it
But I have friends who attest to its effectiveness somim open minded

KissingInTheRain · 15/03/2019 23:54

But you think poor diet suppresses the immune system, don’t you?

Ewitsahooman · 15/03/2019 23:55

But keep up with the moronic assertions ...they’re quite amusing

Almost as amusing as the fact that actual science says you are completely and utterly wrong.

Lweji · 15/03/2019 23:57

Everything depresses the immune system. ... Except HIV.
Quite extraordinary.

Cathmidston · 15/03/2019 23:59

Most of the people I chat to living with HIV wouldn’t fit your risk groups. We’re actually pretty normal people - mums, sisters, grannys etc.
Yes and who aren’t dying of AIDS but instead have a fairly meaningless HIV diagnosis. You know you can test positive for HIV just from having repeated pregnancies.. there are about 70 conditions that can cause a false positive HIV test... including a recent flu vaccine.

KissingInTheRain · 15/03/2019 23:59

Thank you. So you’re open minded about homeopathy.

Can I ask about conspiracies? You’ve said that big pharma conspires in falsehoods and suppresses the truth, for vaccine profits. Are governments and the WHO also conspirators against the people in vaccine cover ups and lies?

Cathmidston · 16/03/2019 00:00

Malnutrition... pissingintherain
Or do you think that has no effect on the immune system Hmm

Cathmidston · 16/03/2019 00:02

I haven’t actually used the word conspiracy... only that pharma makes huge profits

Ewitsahooman · 16/03/2019 00:02

You know you can test positive for HIV just from having repeated pregnancies.. there are about 70 conditions that can cause a false positive HIV test... including a recent flu vaccine.

They don't do one solitary blood test and send you on your way with a "so you've got HIV" leaflet. You do know that, don't you!? They rule out false positives as part of the testing process.

Cathmidston · 16/03/2019 00:03

Anyway... fun as this is.. its past my bedtime x

KissingInTheRain · 16/03/2019 00:05

Does malnutrition account for any AIDS cases in the UK and the US, or were they all down to poppers?

KissingInTheRain · 16/03/2019 00:06

I haven’t actually used the word conspiracy... only that pharma makes huge profits

Ooh, that’s dishonest. Look at what you said about skepticalraptor and pharma.

HIVpos · 16/03/2019 00:11

Most of the people I chat to wouldn’t fit your risk group... Yes and who aren’t dying of AIDS but instead have a fairly meaningless HIV diagnosis.”

Well I can’t talk to the ones who did die of late stage HIV...because they are dead. So not such a meaningless diagnosis. Interesting how all these people who died shared the same diagnosis and all died pretty much the same way, despite some of them having a perfectly healthy lifestyle...but you refuse to believe that, despite the proof.

“You know you can test positive for HIV just from having repeated pregnancies.. there are about 70 conditions that can cause a false positive HIV test... including a recent flu vaccine”.

I somehow very much doubt that - although not infallible the antigen/antibodies test is pretty accurate, and in any case after the 2nd confirmatory test is followed up with another which counts the virus itself.

Ewitsahooman · 16/03/2019 00:18

I was pregnant seven times within the space of eight years, have also had the flu jab every year since I can remember. I've never had a false positive HIV test.

HIVpos · 16/03/2019 00:23

Btw a lot of people I chat to had late stage HIV, as proven by their very low CD4 count and a multitude of little illnesses attributable to their impacted immune system.

Now oddly shortly after starting ART their immune system started to improve, and continued to do so and eventually they were back to full fitness. Now some might have lead a risky lifestyle beforehand, and continued to lead one afterwards. Others might have done the opposite. The one thing they all shared was that despite any difference in lifestyle before and after, all of them were on ART and for all their health improved.

Then there’s the odd one who for whatever reason and even though healthy on ART, decided to stop taking his meds. I haven’t heard from him in a while...

MissConductUS · 16/03/2019 00:38

and in any case after the 2nd confirmatory test is followed up with another which counts the virus itself.

You've forgotten that on Cath's planet viruses as independent pathogens don't exist. So of course your disease is the result of your rubbish lifestyle choices, or aliens, or evil spirits.

Obviously the CDC is part of the conspiracy too. Here's proof of their perfidy.

Rainbowjellies · 16/03/2019 00:49

And why are there random packets of DNA? Do you know how DNA and RNA function?

HIVpos · 16/03/2019 00:52

Grin MissConduct and there was me think unprotected sex gave me this b thing. Or was having sex a poor lifestyle choice?

Actually don’t answer that 🙄😐😀

MissConductUS · 16/03/2019 01:01

HIVpos, be thankful you've avoided spontaneous combustion.

I think your incessant popper use has angered Gaia and she's flung detached DNA packets into your blood that are somehow replicating like a pathogen some random bit of something that can't be independently verified.

HIVpos · 16/03/2019 01:16

The thing is Cath, when you describe things in your own words, it doesn’t match up to what your so called experts are saying. Your argument is flawed, mostly through lack of credible knowledge. Every time someone explains why what you post is incorrect, you then move onto the next thing, often just copying and pasting random stuff from articles you’ve read.

I simply cannot agree to differ with you especially in matters regarding HIV. Your knowledge comes from out of date unreliable sources, and you just won’t entertain the notion that science moves on. You are literally stuck in some sort of time loop rather than the present day. Science is never perfect. There are always more questions to be asked, more studies to be done and more proof to find. Most of us prefer to trust peer reviewed material written by someone who is an expert in the field they are writing about. For some reason you refuse to trust this sort of person.

Now I believe that you will do as you think best with your own family, and understand that we need to do the same. For that reason, if this is what you truly think, then you should not continue to post all this stuff again on another similar thread. There are now enough posters and readers who will be aware of the way your brain works, and wary of how potentially dangerous your views are.

So perhaps just keep these views to yourself once this thread comes to an end.

HIVpos · 16/03/2019 09:22

Odd that deliberately and knowingly passing HIV onto others can result in a prison sentence for the harm it causes.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/resources/idt-sh/Why_Did_Daryll_Rowe_Use_HIV_As_A_Weapon

(Just as a disclaimer, the vast majority of people who pass it on to others are not aware that they are living with HIV at the time so blame cannot be apportioned)
