DS doing drugs...

Hi,

Really just posting here for traffic I'm going to be honest.

Anyone else have a 16 y/o and please can you tell me realistically how common you think smoking weed is of this current generation of teens.

I have been worried for a while DS is playing with recreational drugs and basically have caught him (DH found a video on social media and everything spiralled from there). DS is very blaze and assures us "everyone is smoking weed"...

Mumsnet... what do you reckon?
Obviously i know it isn't everyone... however the school seems to think this is "very common in teens at the moment" as well ?! Confused not sure if this is widespread or just my area.

Thanks

Only thing worse than a cunting twatbadger? A thick cunting twatbadger.

DesolationCrow · 01/03/2019 23:39

My daughter is in treatment, but I see no good resolution for her. Pot does not help, but you cant lock them in the house.

I had a lovely, cute, sweet, loving little girl. She is gone. I miss her every single day. I cant even bare to hug the imposter in my daughters place.

Hayden, really, dude, get back on your meds. Not in a bad way, not judging you, but you are hurting others and thats not a good thing. Your frustrations in life shouldn't be taken out on strangers.

Myothercarisalsoshit · 01/03/2019 23:39

I'm a Primary School teacher with two degrees you dullard.

LellowYedbetter · 01/03/2019 23:40

I’m going to bed. I’m disappointed that I’ll miss the rest of this shit show (Hayden) before it’s deleted.

OP, repost this once Hayden has been banned.

CallMeRachel · 01/03/2019 23:40

Clearly a high class raving loony cunting twatbadger Grin

Cheetahssitonfajitas · 01/03/2019 23:40

Accuses someone of racism then tries to use classism as an insult, twice. Fails to spot irony.

Janleverton · 01/03/2019 23:41

Weed scares me nowadays. I smoked a fair amount from 17 years old and throughout university. But it wasn’t skunk. I loathe skunk - far too strong and psychoactive, rather than mellow.

Op, ignore that poster. OH works in the field and cannabis/skunk use is on the rise. Some of them are much stronger than the ones some of us (may) have experimented with when we were younger. Look at talktofrank website for advice and support.

DesolationCrow · 01/03/2019 23:44

Its not your choice if they do drugs or drink. Once they get out into the big wide world of temptations, they will make their choices.

Teenagedconfusion · 01/03/2019 23:45

I have not read the full thread and I honestly do not know the answer. If most of us parents knew the answers there would be fewer drugs problems.

I think I have been living under a stone, because until a few months ago I had no idea there are kids in my children's school doing drugs. My ds is 16 but is very focused on his GCSE's and I know are very lucky. He has a great group of friends who stay clear of the kids smoking weed. This is not meant to sound sanctimonious at all because I am under no illusion that this will always be the case. We live in a small fairly affluent village so there is obviously less of a drugs problem but really I would have no clue how to handle it.

I do honestly believe that the mental health issues we are seeing more and more of are caused by drugs. As someone said it is not the weed of the 80's but potent stuff. I would be devastated and feel very sad that the op has to face this. I really would not know what to do for the best.

Myothercarisalsoshit · 01/03/2019 23:45

And I don't have time for your offensive idiotic twaddle.
You know how to spot a cretin on an internet forum? It's not the swearing. You just count the exclamation marks.

Janleverton · 01/03/2019 23:46

Well I posted without reading the full thread!

Dd is in year 11 and pretty puritanical. When she talks about drugs and her year group it seems from the way she’s talking that it isn’t hugely common - is mention worthy because it’s not rife. Unlike alcohol.

Cheetahssitonfajitas · 01/03/2019 23:48

You keep telling yourself that dear. I suspect you will never know what your kids truly get up to or how they feel as you are clearly unapproachable at best and a raving lunatic at worst. Even without the weed, hey?! I know your brand of parenting all too well. Hopefully for you, you will always remain in blissful ignorance of how little they will turn to you so you don't descend any deeper into your pit of ire and vitriol.

Feliciaxxx · 01/03/2019 23:50

I think Hayden is probably male and about 15.

Cheetahssitonfajitas · 01/03/2019 23:50

I suspect from the typing style that you might be right.

Teenagedconfusion · 01/03/2019 23:51

I don't think anyone in their right mind can say "my kids will never do drugs" All we can do is talk, talk and talk some more and tell them of the dangers. I might report my son to the police to scare him if I found out. Is that right or wrong? Would they even care?

Aw I had my money on him being a 75 year old ex-military man. Disappointed. Sad

Cheetahssitonfajitas · 01/03/2019 23:56

No the grammar would be better. I also suspected a mid-south Trump campaigner, 65ish, takes a large amount of prescription meds, has gout which makes her cranky.
