To not go to friends wedding tomorrow...I'm the bridesmaid

sillyandsally · 01/03/2019 19:05

I had a baby 3 months ago and she isn't sleeping on a night at all.
I'm lucky if I get 2 hours sleep.
I'm exhausted to a point I feel sick.
My friends wedding tomorrow and I'm bridesmaid but I know tonight I will be lucky to get even 3 hours sleep so I'm going to be in no fit state.
I feel so sick and exhausted with tiredness.
Aibu to tell her I can't go?
The wedding is at 1pm but she wants me over at 9am for makeup and hair.
I don't know what to do

Jeezoh · 03/03/2019 14:04

Ah that’s great, you must be pleased you pushed on through. I promise you will get more sleep at some point, even if it feels years away just now!

Tink1990 · 03/03/2019 14:05

Aaw so pleased for you, you're a superstar! Hope you get some proper rest soon Smile

howwillwedeal · 03/03/2019 14:17

@sillyandsally that's just fab, well done you! You also seem like you were glad you went, which is marvellous.

ajandjjmum · 03/03/2019 14:25

Glad you had a good night! Sometimes it's things that you're not looking forward to, that you enjoy the most.

MachineBee · 03/03/2019 14:31

Well done OP. Glad you had a good time.

This is the bit about being a grown up and a mum that they never tell you about. That you have to keep going no matter what. But it does build stamina - eventually. Grin

Readytogogogo · 03/03/2019 14:40

Fantastic well done!

antmusic · 03/03/2019 14:43

Shock Don't go! I know what this was like, I couldn't function at all, if she is your friend she will understand, if you can, just do the actual service walk up the aisle and then go, LOOK AFTER YOURSELF you are worth it Halo

userxx · 03/03/2019 14:48

@antmusic The wedding was yesterday and she went.

howwillwedeal · 03/03/2019 14:49

@antmusic read more than one post on a thread that is over 600 posts long and three days old! It might help in showing you things have moved on somewhat. OP has been, lasted the day/night and danced and enjoyed the company......

BikeRunSki · 03/03/2019 14:49

antmusic this thread is a few days old. She went.

AppleCrisps · 03/03/2019 14:58

I'm really glad you enjoyed yourself OP!

Tavannach · 03/03/2019 15:24

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 03/03/2019 15:25

Fantastic . Glad you had a good day and night OP

Mammajay · 03/03/2019 16:17

Well done op. And Minmooch, can I say that you will learn to live alongside your sadness one day. My love, the love of a stranger, goes out to you.

buzzbobbly · 03/03/2019 16:18

Well done Silly. You should be very proud of yourself.

LittlePaintBox · 03/03/2019 16:18

Glad you had a good time - that's the advantage of doing something you're dreading - it usually isn't as bad as you're imagining.

Hope you're able to sort something out so you can et a bit more time to yourself and a bit more sleep from now on.

Flowers Well done! Flowers

Fraying · 03/03/2019 16:27

I'm glad you went OP and hope you have a fab time Smile

Mummyfran121617 · 03/03/2019 16:31

If your freind dosent understand you being exhausted what kind of a freind is that

GoFiguire · 03/03/2019 16:37

Yes mummyfran you’re right. I think OP should text her friend right now to say she’s not going to the wedding yesterday.

howwillwedeal · 03/03/2019 16:45

@Mummyfran121617 it's a married friend! She got married yesterday, we know because OP saw it happen as she was there being a bridesmaid!

EstrellaDamn · 03/03/2019 16:50
