Vanity fair article about Kate Middleton

Now I am quite fond of Kate Middy but AIBU to have snorted very loudly at this sentence?

Oh to have such a stressful life!

Tbh I wouldn't want it. Everyone knows basically about every fart you do. You must ALWAYS look perfect, walk perfect, talk perfect...

I think it would be stressful in its own way, and I am a republican who has no time for the RF. I would hate to have people around all the time, and to have every single thing I wear, every grey hair, every wrinkle, every smile, every expression, every utterance scrutinised, analysed and criticised to the nth degree.

I wouldn't want it either

The level of intrusiveness in EVERY aspect of life

It's not worth it

She was clever enough to get in to St Andrews to begin with but the press perpetually reduce her to a brood mare and clothes horse

Her choice of husband has also impacted both her siblings negatively far more so than her parents

Yes they still have gilded lives but the level of press intrusion into their private lives has been ENORMOUS

I really couldn’t stand it. I enjoy sticking my leggings and tunic on with hair tied back and no make up for the school run. I also love returning to an empty house, I enjoy the peace of being alone for several hours. I don’t envy her at all.

I would find her way of life extremely stressful. But I would never have chosen it.

She chose that life though?yes I wouldn't want the press following me around and photographing my every move but she had a fairly privileged life anyway I'm sure she knew what marrying the future king would entail.

I find it stressful when my friends want to include me in a selfie!
I would hate her life. The privilege doesn't pay of the expectation for me.

I still think of her standing outside the hospital having pictures taken just after having a baby so definitely would not want her life. And I'd assume the magazine said stressful, for all we know she said it took getting used to or something like that. Magazines always up the drama

People often say that if they win the lottery they would have a full staff, I do too. But in all honesty I would hate sharing my home with people I dont really know. OF course I would love to have someone to do all the jobs I hate, but the reality of having all those people treating my home, quite rightly, as their workplace would be horrible.

I have an agreement with my family (well we all do) that barring emergencies for a couple of days, we will never live together again. We have a 5 mile distance agreement for accomodation on holidays "together"!

I couldnt imagine anything worse than not being able to walk around my own home in just my knickers and a t shirt, farting to my hearts content and scratching my pubes should the mood take me (I'm a catch, me. Just form a queue o:).

The clothes changes wouldnt bother me, but the staff....I feel for her.

She's just like anyone - hates aspects of her 'job' and craves a bit of peace and quiet in her own home. I think most of us can relate to that!

It does sound like a stressful life to me and I wouldn't want it either.

If you compare it to your own life, I guess you'll always 'snort very loudly' but if you can look at it a bit more objectively then I'm sure you'll think differently.

For example, you could stress about paying your rent/mortgage/food bills etc (as many of us do) and get 'snorted very loudly' at by a homeless person who would love to be in your position (or not as the case may be).

It's all relevant and yes I know she chose to marry into the royal family, but that doesn't mean she isn't human and doesn't find it stressful at times.

TBF staying with your husband's granny would be stressful even if it was all gin rummy, VHS tapes and anti macassars. But even so, yes, it's tone deaf. KM will curse VF for it if she has any media savvy.

I'd find it stressful. I need time alone when I just want everyone else to fuck off. Having people around constantly (staff or not) would stress me out. As would the wardrobe changes.

Some people might love it, true. But I am not one of those people. So I can understand why she might find it difficult.

It does sound stressful though.

Whether it's more stressful or not than being a NICU nurse or homeless or a mother of 10 doesn't matter. Stress isn't only acceptable if you're at the top of the stress tree

@Quintella or maybe she just genuinely loves William and has to put up with it? I have no idea of course, but it's not impossible that she wanted the man and not the life.

There's a fucktonne of upsides to the lifestyle, let's not deny it, but to say there's no downsides and if you're rich and famous you must be happy at all times and never complain is frankly ridiculous.

PEople say that she knew what she was getting into, but did she?

Its the fantasy versus reality. Sure she had a taste when she was the girlfriend, but being the fiance then wife then mother of the heir is a whole new kettle of fish. Same for Diana. She "knew" what she was getting into and then again, she didnt.

I say all this as a republican.
