strikes me there is a lot of missing items out there with no good reason why they are missing. first we had the ironing board saga then the missing chicken which turned out not to be missing in the first place but was a scary moment for a while.
well not to be out done i am missing my kindle not seen for 6 months and my ipod seems to have wandered off as well.
are any other MNers missing any important items? what is going on out there i wonder

I’ve been missing a 30 year old Gucci watch that was my mum’s for the last few weeks. Found it last night in the top shelf of a kitchen wall cupboard. No idea how it got there

I lost a pigeon's head. Poor woodpigeon was taken out by a sparrowhawk in the garden RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! Sparrowhawk then tried to fly off with it but it was too heavy, so ate most of it but left behind some parts. My son went to retrieve the bits (didn't want dog eating/rolling in them). Later my mother found the pigeon's head, put it in a bag and left it outside back door to dispose of it later. Bag disappeared, we looked everywhere to no avail. A whole week later my son told me he saw it so put it in dustbin but didn't tell us, oblivious to our frantic searching.

My husbands irreplaceable very expensive cuff links! He has three sets (wedding, honeymoon and sisters wedding) and we cannot find a single pair!
My great grandma left me a ring in her will. Not expensive or precious stones or anything but my favourite colour, and one I used to try on whenever I went to see her.
It was always on her little finger and shortly after the will reading my grandparents went to the funeral home to ask about the ring, it has vanished. Literally thin air. (Or my great uncles deep pockets!)

Have just remembered a good book by Cecelia Ahern, 'A Place Called Here' where all the lost things go.

I am beside myself about missing socks - two go in wash, one comes out it seems. Now have half an airing cupboard filled with single socks, been putting off sorting it out for years.

My wedding certificate. I placed in on our dressing table 2 hours after we got married and I've never seen it since.

I love a place called here!
I actually lost the book a few months ago! I am gutted because I loved it. I remember putting it on my bedside table with my favourite bookmark in it. Came to pick it up again a few weeks later and both have vanished! I have since found the bookmark under my bookshelf but can’t find the book!

I lost a pigeon's head.

Grin Schadenfreude - Apologies for that, it should have had a warning on it. RIP woodpigeon. My DS told me yesterday that he was thinking of leaving it in my bed as a surprise. Poor child has his mother's sick sense of humour. Hmm

I had a lovely scarf given to me by a friend. We were moving house so as it was warm weather I used it to wrap some ornaments in, but then forgot.
We moved, eventually I unpacked that box and found the scarf, yay, remembered then that I'd used it for packing. I know where I was when I found it, that room has been completely emptied and decorated, can't find the scarf anywhere. I even asked dh if he'd accidentally spilt paint on it and thrown it out without telling me but nope, it's vanished.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 01/03/2019 11:55

My DS would have thought that was funny, too Kitsch

So would my DH

where items just suddenly appear in plain sight:

Google the word "apport" and then look it up in Wikipedia......

Lost my sunglasses on an aeroplane - they turned up 2 years later in my bedroom drawer

thenightsky · 01/03/2019 21:28

Lost my kagoul. Disappeared off the face of the earth. Bought a new one. Old one turned up over a year later under the driver's seat of my car, which had been hoovered out dozens of times over the year!

But, as soon as the old one turned up, the new one disappeared!

I found the Snickers bars. They were in my sewing machine cabinet Confused they are now safely tucked into my emergency chocolate drawer at work. Smile
